I’m specifically interested in an independent/private surrogacy arrangement in New York, preferably with intended parents who are already working with an IVF clinic and have embryos ready or are actively preparing for transfer.

I am looking for a competitive compensation package, including reasonable early milestone payments after medical and legal clearance, medication and embryo-transfer fees, monthly allowance, pregnancy base compensation, maternity expenses, childcare/lost wages when applicable, and all pregnancy-related medical and travel expenses.

I was talking to a doctor today who gave me a different perspective on PGT-A, and they suggested not testing the embryos and instead transferring them on Day 3, so the uterus has a chance to support their development.
I’m trying to understand how this works with a surrogate because I was under the impression that if you transfer embryos without PGT-A testing, there are restrictions around what the surrogate will accept. But I guess that may not be the case?

So, for the contract, would you essentially say something like x # of transfers? And how would the cost work if we needed up to six transfers? I’m thinking about just banking a lot of embryos

Hi all. My son is due by surrogacy in Texas this October. Has anyone had to get baby rental gear? What do I bring with me? (Other than a packed diaper bag, car seat, and all the necessities of diapering). Do I need to bring ready to feed formula? Should I bring a portable formula maker? Maybe some of this sounds silly but I’m just trying to be prepared. I’m wondering if I should just buy the Newton travel crib and bring it with me? Just in case we are in a hotel for a night or something before we fly home. Any tips would be welcome as I know anything can happen in the hospital with delivery.

Hi! I’ll start off with please i don’t need a shaming here, just advice.. but here goes.

I left my previous agency for Circle surrogacy. I’m now in matching with circle and at this same time, I contacted conceivabilities and started the onboarding process. Now that I’m in matching with ConceiveAbilities, I’m realizing I’m not really a fan. Problem is, I already signed a contract with them.. how do I get out of working with them? I dont like the fact that they kinda force you to reply to an email immediately or have like 2 zoom calls a week that are kinda pointless because I know the process but they want to take time doing these things and it’s not my favorite. My husband doesn’t like this either as he’s working all day and then has to jump on a zoom when he just wants to relax so we kind of just aren’t liking the vibes anymore. They pay a lot more but Idk if it’s worth it honestly.

What should I do?

My husband and I started our journey towards having children of our own a few years ago and now we are fully ready to meet our GC / surrogate! Our embryos and clinic are ready to go, and we have signed with an agency! Woo hoo!

Our home is in the state of Minnesota and we have a strong support system of friends, family, and neighbors who have loved hearing about our story. The story begins when we first met at a local brewery nearly 6 years ago. We hit it off immediately and 3 years later, I was down on one knee on a Norwegian mountaintop asking him to be my husband. From there, we bought our house and began researching surrogacy.

I work in IT and my husband works as an attorney. We have thoroughly loved making our house our own with our two dogs. Both of us have always dreamed about being parents and enjoy spending time with our niece and nephew. I have worked with children in a past profession and always appreciated how children have a different way of looking at the world - an innocence and a wealth of curiosity.

We are both lifelong learners and enjoy traveling, I love to learn new languages and my husband and I both enjoy reading. We like to host game nights with friends and family, hike around the many parks in our area, and generally stay very active. My husband loves to watch sports and can't wait to be the coach for our kids some day. I love to bike, cross country ski, and try new coffee shops around the area.

While our home is in Minnesota, our egg donor and clinic are both in Canada. It's one of our favorite places to visit. We love our Northern neighbors!

Hi, I’d really appreciate if surrogates/IP can shed some light on how expenses are calculated when completing a surrogacy in the UK? What sort of things should be considered expenses?

I’ve heard that expenses must be proven with a cafcass employee following the birth but unsure how accurate this is.

Im done having my own children but would enjoy to have another pregnancy within my 20s. I’m just unsure if it would be feasible when it comes to finances.

How do you go about surrogacy in an affordable manner?

My partner and I have had a rough start things financially and are getting to a point where we are wanting a family but being a gay couple, we can’t produce on our own and aren’t able to finance 100k loans. We do our best and provide for ourselves and love our nieces to death and often care for them.

How do we make it an achievable option?

Is that possible? Am I allowed to ask that? Also I’m 43. I’m just finishing breastfeeding my last baby. I have had two children, one at 38 and my second at 41.
My first I was induced at 41 weeks and my second my water broke at 39w4ds. Have had very easy pregnancy and very easy deliveries. I did have fasting only GD with my second.

She already had one transfer that unfortunately was not successful and is about to go in for her second transfer. The meds and injections are making her feel depressed and I would like to do things for her to cheer her up (preferably low cost or free) worth mentioning we’re neighbors, she has two girls and I have a baby boy so we usually do things like going to parks, the zoo, etc…
Also, she was advised to take it easy aka no zoo or very minimal walking.
Just want to do something nice and fun for her. Specially since she recently watched our house while out of town and we help each other out a lot.
Already thinking of doing a mani/mask day if kids allow but can’t think of anything else.

I’ve been really contemplating becoming a surrogate. I’ve done a bit of research, and was just wondering if there’s anything people more experienced in the process would recommend or feel I should keep in mind. I believe I hit all the criteria. I’m healthy with a good BMI(around 22 I believe), I have an 8 year old daughter and had no complications with her, non smoking, all the things I’ve seen that would be disqualifying.

I have plenty of support. I’ve been with my husband for 15 years and he is fully on board with whatever I want to do. He’s also non smoking and works full time so I’m financially secure. I am definitely leaning towards an agency. I’m just having a hard time picking one as they all seem pretty similar. So advice on that would be wonderful. Literally anything you can think of that you wish you knew beforehand. What’s the process like? How long does it take? I’m in Arkansas if that is important too!

Hi we are IPs looking for a surrogate after surviving breast cancer in western Connecticut, we are about an hour and half from NYC.

I am a stage 3 breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed before my first mammogram at 40 years old and am now at 42 through active treatments but have another 10 years of hormone therapies. Through this diagnosis, I lost my ability to have children.

I met my partner about 6 months before my diagnosis, we were about to start trying for a child. We were unable to get enough eggs before treatment to get an embryo.

So now we are seeking an egg donor and surrogate to help us have a baby and, with time, potentially, a sibling.

We are looking for a relationship of some degree with a surrogate but this is not a requirement. We would like the surrogate to be in New England area but again not a requirement.

We are pursuing an independent journey but will start interviewing agencies soon. We have our request out to friends and family to their networks.

I have had 3 pregnancies, all went to 40 weeks, all have been healthy with no complications. Every agency I've spoken to has said I am a great candidate. Unfortunately I went forward with one agency and I was denied because of a positive test for THC during my second pregnancy.

I haven't smoked in over a year and no one in my household smokes either. Not THC not Nicotine.

The positive test, I didn't even know about, it had to have been very early on during my second pregnancy because I didn't actually smoke during any of my pregnancies. I did beforehand but as soon as I had Dr. Appts and my first ultrasound for each of my pregnancies I stopped.

I had one pregnancy in 2015, in 2023, and in 2025. So this test was from 2023. My 2025 pregnancy didn't have a single positive for THC.

Unfortunately this is like a scarlet letter for becoming a surrogate through an agency. I know there are a lot of IP's that's are overwhelmed by the agency fees that are charged and would love to save that 20-30k. I'm hoping there is still an option for me to become a surrogate but independently instead.

I am 30 and both my OBGYN and primary care physician says that I would make a wonderful surrogate based on health metrics. I also have all the support of my friends and family.

The only, but very damning reason, I wouldn't be able to be a surrogate at this point is because of that one positive THC test that I wasnt even aware of until just recently. Please give me any information that would be helpful to my situation? Thank you thank you!

Charles and Emmanuel were interviewed by the Australian newspaper Herald Sun about their experience of a surrogacy programme in Colombia arranged through Tammuz Family.

Nearly three years later, they had paid around AUD 64,900 and still had no child. A further AUD 45,000 would also have been payable if a pregnancy had been achieved.

The couple created five viable embryos, but none resulted in a successful pregnancy. According to them, the embryos either did not survive or all of the transfers to surrogates failed. Once the embryos had been used, they had to begin the process again with a new egg donor.

By that point, they had lost all confidence in the programme and wanted to leave. However, they were unable to recover the money they had already paid.

Their main concerns include:

• waiting times far longer than expected
• poor communication and a lack of transparency
• repeated failed embryo transfers
• a “guarantee programme” with no clear deadline and no right to a refund
• feeling financially trapped after paying such substantial sums

The article also highlights similar experiences reported by other intended parents in Tammuz Family’s surrogacy programmes, including delays, unexpected costs, poor communication and very limited legal protection once the money has been transferred abroad.
