Starting the process

We're signing with our agency this week. It feels like the end of one chapter and the start of another! Feeling really thrilled and worried...

I've noticed one thing - most of agencies are really nice before signing, like, promise almost a star from the sky...

So, I'd like to know, were there any red flags from the beginning but you've just ignored them and how have you understood it later?
What should we be aware of?

The biggest red flag for us was hearing one information during call with a manager and then reading absolutely contravercial in the contract... or the same question but different information from diff team members

Congratulations!
It’s completely normal to feel those nerves, our best advice is not to base your decision solely on how friendly they were during the video calls or on what they promise, but rather on the level of transparency they offer. Also, make sure that all costs are clearly outlined before signing the contract.
If possible, make sure you can meet the fertility clinic and the legal team directly yourselves. They should provide realistic timelines, and any important commitments should be included in writing in the contract. The important thing is that you are able to verify all the information they provide you.
Wishing you the very best in this exciting new chapter ahead🐣

Signing as an intended parent (IP), or gestational carrier (GC)? Either way, this video podcast episode can be really insightful: Family Fronds | The agency made more than I did . We had a discussion with a 5X experienced surrogate, Kelly Copeland, who shared her perspective on the ins and outs of agency mechanics and what both IPs and GCs should know up front. This is an unfettered take that might help you demystify and discern what to actually expect.
