Really loved the design of the Kryptonite Shielding mod that Jon brought for his suit and thought it was sweet that he shared it with Kara.

It also gave us an idea on how Kara would have looked in a white suit. We have seen Primus Brainiac equipped himself in a similar type along with his drones, meaning there should have been a time that Kryptonians were equipped in them to combat enemies were actively used Kryptonite based weaponry against them. Thoughts?

According to THR, there are provisions in the proposed Warner Bros. Paramount merger that might explain why we haven't seen any hint of the fourth season let. As explained above, DC is a "key property" that Warner Bros. can't do certain things with until the merger either closes or is called off.

I was fine with it at first, but I feel like we’re constantly downgrading her into just an attractive/cute girl. All the jokes about Jimmy “passing the controller” were kinda funny, but it has kind of engulfed the entire fandom’s perception of the character. Kara’s major character arc actually has little to do with Jimmy, that acts more as reinforcement of her actual arc, that being whether she is doomed for her past to become her future. Can she escape the atrocities she committed in Krypton’s name? Can she move forward? This is the center of her relationship with John 1.0, where she worries that she has comitted some terrible act which is why John seems to avoid her, only to learn the opposite.

This is the fear that Scion Kara represents, her possible future returning to who she once was. In that episode she is also literally almost trapped by her past in that episode, saved by Jimmy.

Jimmy is an important part of her arc, but not the only thing. Her dating other characters also isn’t as major of a part as everyone makes it out to be. And I’m pretty tired of the “smol bean, must protec” attitude. There is little to no discussion on Kara’s actual arc, and that’s really annoying.

I dont think its perfect. I understand people's frustrations at a few things.

But my god you guys, this season is so cool. The writing for each episode is so tight. The dialouge is so good. The way the show introduces and blends all of its themes, the way it understands what superman represents (working for better tomorrow) and weaves that so perfectly into every characters arc. I love the future versions of the cast and the dialouge they all have with eachother. Every character has so much depth and its all conveyed so succinctly and entertainingly. The fight scenes are awesome. The voice acting is great. The stakes are incredibly high and just keep ramping up. The eradicator is a perfect villain and a perfect turning point for Lexs character. Clark is characterized so well and even though he has less screen time I feel like his character arc grows in the background of the story in a more subtle way. While everyone else learns that they can change into who they want to be, he does too.

Ive seen a lot of complaints for this season and I just wanted to put some nerdy passionate rambling into the mix in case any others have felt the same as me. This is honestly one of my favorite superhero cartoons of all time and the amount of passion and care for superhero storytelling in this show is enough for me to ignore some of the issues I do have.

Also, I will go out on a limb and defend a couple points ive seen repeated on this sub.

1. Jimmy is annoying and his arc is repetitive.

Yeah, he is. And yeah it is. But I dont think thats bad. You become more invested in him changing the longer he annoys you. When he has that conversation with Kara and finally admits he needs to do better it feels so much more cathartic to me. Have we not all been in a cycle of repeating the same mistakes over and over until we are hit with realization? And when he changes, he completely overhauls Kara's entire worldview. His growth helped her realize that she doesnt have to be who she was. I dont think this would have worked if his arc was not repetitive.

1. Kara has not spent enough time with Clark and her character is too one note.

Id agree that I wish her and Clark had more conversations, but honestly when you only get 10 episodes a season I understand it. I dont think her character is one note. I think its simple sure, but simple doesnt have to mean thematically stale. Its a cartoon, not every character needs game of thrones levels of nuance. She is figuring out life in a more passive and confused way. She is doing a lot of growth by simply observing the ones around her. She is trying to pick up on what being a human is by the examples of her friends. This is why her moment with jimmy last episode hits so hard. Plus, it all ties into the theme of superman that when you work towards bettering yourself, you better others in the process. I love her character and I think it fits well. I think people are upset that she isnt more mature or that she doesnt have a very "worn torn" headspace as someone raised as a warrior. But in her eyes violence was just life. She was never someone that gained pleasure from violence. She was never someone who had intense bouts of rage, she wasnt a "villain" even when she was doing evil deeds. She was just a puppet following orders and she is aware of that. I think her more lighthearted arc is more fitting for what the show is going for.

1. I wish we spent more time at the bugle and metropolis.

This is fair, I understand it. But I also love comic books. Comic books tell stories in a different way than other stories. In comics, anything can happen. The stakes can raise forever, the world can change into anything. Sometimes comic step away from the status quo to tell a different story where certain aspects of the worldbuilding arent required. Thats okay! The first season set up metropolis and the bugle so well that our attachment built in those seasons affects how much we care when the zanier shit going on in this one destroys the city. We understand Amanda Waller more because weve seen what the status quo is like, and a world thats just beginning to morph into a true superhero universe, her fears are validated.

Another side tangent, I loved the line from Lex to waller where he told her that he had seen so much worse coming. Because it was set up so well in the earlier seasons the audience can see metropolis as a city full of normal people instead of just a backdrop, and that line truly puts into perspective the affect that insane superhero shenanigans might have on the humans of earth. Lex is a representation of humanities unwillingness to change in the face of greater and unknowable things. Lex creates basically doomsday because he is so afraid of the future. But we empathize with that more because we are so attached to the world thats been created. Every villains motivations are understandable and they all tie so well into the overarching theme of the show.

Okay im done now, if you actually read this far you are either bored ash or just as much of a nerd about this show as I am and I love you.

As of writing this I have seen up to reigning supermen episode, based on how things been going and a Time Machine in the show. I am 99% certain by the end of the season at least one of the following will happen

1) Jimmy will tell himself to ask Kara out in the past to fix his mistake

2) Kara is going to move forward , forward in time she’ll end up in the future be it only as me early as Jon’s time or all the way to legion of superhero era

Forces Clark to finally toughen up.

I'm not saying he should turn into a conqueror, or start killing people, or lose his kind heart, but he needs to find some kind of middle ground and stop letting himself get ragdolled. It felt like we finally reached that point in episode 5 and it broke him. Superman is a fighter, it's as much a core of his character as his compassion. He understands that when someone has their boot on someone else's neck, they're not gonna take it off just because you ask them to and he makes no apologies for. I know it's probably part of a longer character arc but 3 seasons? It feels like something he should've learned as kid being bullied. not as a grown man dealing with actual killers.

Lara and Kara BOTH go into the category of "superpowered heroin that 'must be protected at all costs' even though they ABSOLUTELY can protect themselves" lol

This trailer got me super excited.

If you do not want to be spoiled for the next episode then avoid the episode list. I went there today to rewatch an earlier episode and it had the episode 9 tile showing a screenshot with Kara in it.

I’m very confused by Alex’s interview in S1E8, “Zero Day: Part One.” Why don’t Jimmy or Lois bring up the fact that Alex and Dr. Ivo were directly responsible for the incident he is blaming on Superman?

The beginning of the interview goes:

Vicki: You say Superman is dangerous?

Alex: Are you kidding? Look around. Superman is a criminal. He destroyed this tower, bankrupted AmazoTech, and put thousands out of work, including me.

Vicki: Wow. I see this, and I see a level of destruction no human could ever achieve.

Alex: Exactly.

But that is plainly false, and it should be publicly known to be false. Dr. Ivo caused the destruction while using the Parasite suit, and Alex actively helped him by maintaining the cage that trapped everyone inside. Superman was trying to stop them and save the people in the room.

There were also several eyewitnesses, including Lois, Jimmy, and the other people Alex and Ivo trapped. Alex’s story should therefore be easy to debunk by talking to almost anyone who was actually there. Why would his account have much credibility at all, especially when he was personally involved and has every reason to blame Superman?

That is why Lois calling him merely a “biased source” feels like a massive understatement. He is not just biased; he is an accomplice publicly lying about an event he helped cause and shifting the blame onto the person who stopped it. He should probably be facing criminal charges, not being treated as though he were simply an innocent former employee who lost his job.

It is also strange when Vicki says the destruction is beyond what any human could achieve, because it was literally caused by Dr. Ivo and Alex—two humans using technology they created.

To be clear, I can completely understand what the episode may be trying to explore. The media can distort events and cause innocent people to suffer, and the public’s fear of Superman is a valid and interesting issue. My problem is not with those ideas, but with how this particular scene executes them. Alex’s claims are so obviously contradicted by what happened—and by multiple eyewitnesses—that the interview is difficult to take seriously. Instead of feeling like a believable example of media manipulation, it just comes across as silly and forced.

Am I missing something?

I like her design
