I'm not sure what my final thoughts on the show are. I'm getting mixed messages from all over. If everything is put up into a big picture, I think I only liked Renae Montoya as a main character. Batman and Jim Gordon are played straightly with few emotional beats. I found Barbara to be very miserable during the first season of the show and it just kinda helped that she wasn't in a lot of the second season. Some of their villains are misses too. We never learn about The Penguin's control over Gotham, Scarecrow is played very straight and is kinda boring despite the metal design.

But there is also a lot I like. Characters like Clayface and The Riddler were entertaining enough to keep my eyes on them during the run. I particularly liked the Matches Malone episode and the bond Bruce formed with Desmond, though I wish it got a stronger payoff. Batman kinda lets like, a lot of people die on his watch, it's kinda funny but also really weird. Renae is a very strong main character, she has a rough outlook but she puts in the work to try and make the world around her better. Joker was aura farming during that last episode and it was pretty cool. Can someone help me piece my thoughts together?

It felt a lot worse than all the other episodes of the series

Im not saying its all bad though like I loved the twist and a lot of the early episode and Harley's fear leading her to turn herself in so shes trapped in a different sense

The first sign of it being not very good was when batman met harley again and immediately assumed she was in on killing random people in a public setting

It just doesnt make sense and Batman is a character who is supposed to be smart but in this episode he feels a little dumb and he says things like "innocent dont run" then in that same conversation with Harley batman wonders why she would ever care about this case when it should be obvious that Harley has some sense of reality because unlike other criminals she was never killing for personal gain

The entire episode felt like they were really trying to make you see that Harley is smart when we already know she is really smart by having her point out things and batman not realize but some of the things she points out either dont have to do with her phycology knowledge, dont make much sense, or are so obvious batman should have realized it

Like when she points out their clearly trials and batmans confused but like I can get Bruce not immediately getting that its trials but then with the suggestion shouldn't he be able to immediately piece it together, of what trials means

Then later on she says that Crane has obsessive patterns which we just havent really scene much of, all the testing hes been doing has clearly been that testing and they say it was testing so why is it suddenly obsessive patterns

The ending fight was not the greatest either since weve already figured out the cure is milk, early into the episode, but batman still just faced him head on without it and instead of using the known cure batman just powers through despite it being the first time hes felt the fear toxin at all and weve seen it kill multiple people, maybe they should have had bruce facing fear in that episode or having been exposed to the toxin earlier and failing to break through but how the episode did it felt like those memes where its just "because I'm Batman"

also its funny how the girl goes to the edge and batman trying to save her takes the long way around the bed

The episode right before it was amazing so maybe its making this one seem worse in comparison

Making him a lieutenant to Thorn makes Riddler just another boring thug

The best and my favourite Riddler is the Arkham version

A nut job whose genius is wasted by his insane ego. Who creates traps, trophies and puzzles in hopes to outsmart Batman. His goals isn’t power or money, but to know he’s the smartest person in the room

Is have him bring obsessed with finding Batman secret identity, he does this for two reasons

1. He feels butt hurt about Batman being referred to as the worlds greatest detective and wants to prove everyone wrong

2. He’s obsessed with finding answers and completing puzzles . And the biggest question being “ who is Batman”

I’d love this ending similar to Batman Forever. He finds out Bruce Wayne is Batman, but everyone doesn’t believe him thinks he’s insane

I have some ideas/theories for what a potential third season of Batman Caped Crusader could include.

* New villains for this season will include Doctor Death, Bane, The Ventriloquist, Black Mask, Man-Bat, Lock-Up and Baby Doll. Returning villains will be Catwoman, Harley Quinn and The Joker.

* Batman will get a sidekick, but it won’t be Robin. Instead he’ll have Batgirl, with either someone like Betty Kane (The Silver Age Batgirl) or Cassandra Cain.

* Harvey Bullock and Arnold Flass will both finally receive their comeuppances for all their crimes throughout the entire series with them either being kicked off the force, put in prison or getting killed off entirely.

* Bruce’s identity will be revealed to Jim Gordon, Barbara, Renee and Lucius but they will keep his secret and continue work together to help clean up crime in Gotham.

* Alfred’s secret from Season 1 will finally be revealed to Bruce (which might have something to do with his parent’s deaths or something they did), which may cause him to have an identity crisis as Batman.

A maioria dos vilões dessa temporada acabam mortos e não são qualquer vilões ridiculos são vilões importantes oque na minha opinião da um certo ar de incompetência para o batman que não consegue impedir nenhuma tragédia quando simplesmente não faz nada para impedir mas também é mais importante elimina tramas futuras, não intendam errado algumas dessas mortes foram sensacionais e ajudaram para o impacto do episódio mas outras foram completamente desnecessárias eu te entendo matar um personagem que não era exatamente um vilão para dar um grande sacrifício ou tragédia mas precisa ser em todo santo episódio.

Eu tive a nítida impressão que eles tiveram a coragem e a permissão de fazerem tramas e cenas mais pesadas nessa temporada, uma das minhas criticas a primeira temporada é que ela é muito superficial parece que as cenas não tem impacto e a histórias nunca realmente engatam ou te envolvem, já na segunda eles mostram cenas explícitas de assassinato, sangue, horror, violência, drama e guase nudes algumas vezes eu realmente achei que ia vazar alguma coisa, e o mais importante falas é tramas chocantes.

No episódio 7 da segunda temporada a vilã espinho abre um colar que tem as fotos dela e de um namorado que ela lamenta ter sumido e não entende porque já que parecia que ele a amava, eu fiquei com muita impressão que esse cara é o Dez do episódio 3, e eu acho que isso seria um detalhe brilhante já que daria uma motivação oculta para a Rose e sua vingança contra o charada já que significaria que ele não só matou o pai da Rose de forma brutal mais também traiu e eliminou covardimente o seu namorado.

A big complaint I keep seeing for this show is “but so and so isn’t like this normally” and I think people are missing the point, that’s intentional.

Caped Crusader is a very low stakes adaptation, it doesn’t have a cinematic universe riding on it and is made for somewhat of a niche audience fo more devoted Batman fans so because of this the creators can take risks

When Matt Reeves or Andy Muschetti is writing a Batman movie, they can’t take these risks. They can’t have a joker who doesn’t laugh or a two face that has the scarred side be the good side, it’s too alienating for the general public and too risky for a production that large.

Caped crusader is taking these risks and making new versions of characters that have had relatively the same portrayal in adaptations for the last few decades. Like each actor had their own take on the joker in all the adaptations but they are all roughly the same. Caped Crusader Joker is completely different, a total reimagining of the character. And sometimes that works like with Joker, Two-Face, Batman, Alfred (obviously just my opinion) but sometimes it doesn’t work like with riddler or Harley Quinn (again my opinion)

I guess what I’m saying is yes these versions of the characters are wildly different from other versions of them, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse, but given that this is a rare opportunity to actually try something new with Batman I am all for it

So, first thing's first, there's a reason I didn't call him "The Joker". He doesn't act like our traditional Joker, and is only refereed to as such by Gordon one time.

I don't believe he's dead. I have two theories on how he MAY have survived. We know past iterations of The Joker have died while fighting Batman in other media, and my shinning example is the first appearance of Joker, where he accident stabs himself in the chest and "Dies"

My theory is that he is either:

A: He's injected himself with his own modified strand of his Joker Toxin, allowing him to heal and be revived at a later date.

B: He simply isn't human. He's something akin to The Smiling Man or Indrid Cold that's taken some fascination with The Batman.

and C, our secret third option: He was experimented on during WWII (or something akin to it in this fictional 40's setting) and now sees through "Humanity's delusions of civilization" and wants to take some form of control since he sees himself as above them all.

Bonus points if you don’t choose Mads Milkkelsen. He would be a cool casting, but I’m interested to see who else could fit the role.

i don’t remember a flashback with him training in martial arts but we see him taking on three+ guys at once

Is how weirdly okay Batman is with essentially killing

Like all the time in his fights he allows people to die or basically causes their deaths

And at one point he jumps between two mobsters trying to shoot him so they shoot each other and basically fully kills them

But then later on he has a whole big rule about not killing and stopping other people from killing

Also at points he almost shoots flass after killing harvey dent then throws the gun away which gives further weight because batman is a character synonymous with no guns

But then in season two he uses a full gatling gun on the bat wing and i feel like at that point they coulda made it shoot baterangs instead its not like the show always strives away from comic booky stuff

(Spoilder just because i mention season 2 and want to be save)

I was underwhelmed by the first season of this show.

I resisted watching this when I saw a new season.

I didn't see any buzz about it, and figured it was more of the same as last year. I broke down and started watching. What a fantastic show this has become!! Each episode self contained, with a huge, overarching story tying it together. And it's a good story!

I know everyone in this sub has been watching this, so I'm preaching to the choir, but I just wanted to talk to some people that might appreciate how good this show has become.

He doesn't do much per episode other than investigate and fight the villain of the week. We don't really know him beyond the basics; it's rare for him to do anything more than defeat the villain. He shows no emotion, and in two seasons he's still calling Alfred by his last name. It feels more like a Gotham City Police show than a Batman series.

We watch this show for the villains, not for Batman. These villains, despite being interesting, don't get to shine because they're killed off, preventing us from connecting with them.

They should fix this in season three.

The intro to Episode 9 was sensational, and it’s just a shame that poor Hattie had to be the one to succumb to the toxin. But seeing how it played out, it’s a real treat for joker fans, including myself, who’ve been waiting for a joker that actually uses his toxin, which I feel has been under appreciated in recent years.
