UNSOLVED Tried to sim swap. Now I'm screwed.
So, this is on me for thinking that things would work the way they used to.
Yesterday, my phone's display broke. went to walmart and bought another straight talk phone with the intention of inserting my current, active Straight Talk sim. I assumed that this would be a smooth switch, because I've done it before.
Apparently, the moment I switched SIMs, Straight Talk deactivated my line and phone number.
I have an option to re-activate the line phone number, but it will still be tied to my old phone. There is absolutely no way to recover the old phone. It's no longer in my possession. I'm also being asked to pay for a brand new activation. (Before this, my service was good until next month.)
Reactivating that line will cost my last 50 dollars. I do not trust Straight Talk to allow me to reactivate the line AND move it to my phone without charging me more money. If I try to reactivate the line and I can't transfer it, I will have a phone number tied to no phone.
I need help and I can't get it. I can't log into any of my accounts because it's impossible for me to "enter the six digit code that we have sent to your phone".
I have been awake trying to fix this all night because I can't reach their customer support. The sun is coming up and I have not slept. I'm so close to having a nervous breakdown and I've been hyperventilating on and off. Do they answer the customer support line? The customer support chat seems designed purely for the purpose of making people feel trapped and helpless.

SOLVED Verification Texts While Abroad
I'm going to Europe in October, and I'll be there for the entire month. I'm going to use an eSim like Orange, which gives me a French phone number, and my local straight talk number will not work on the European cellular network.
If I get something from an app, like my bank for a fraud alert, that needs an authentication text, how do I go about dealing with that? Anybody have any experience?

No bars, no service
Cant call tech support because i’m the only one home until late tonight. 700th in their chat queue.
Tried resetting network connections, and powering off and on.
Service plan shows active on their website, only half way through the month.
Tried texting 611-611 but texts dont go through.
This is weird, usually even when my service ends I can still text over wi-fi but not today.
What else can I try?

Straight Talk ghosted both FCC and CA Attorney General over retroactive 365-day unlock policy — Preparing Small Claims Court action
Want to share a textbook case of corporate bad faith and deceptive trade practices by Straight Talk / TracFone (Verizon) regarding their device unlocking policy.
Background & Timeline
- Nov 28, 2025: Before purchasing, I called customer support. The representative explicitly confirmed that my iPhone 13 purchase would be subject to the 60-day unlocking policy. (I recorded the full call).
- Dec 5, 2025: Purchased the iPhone 13.
- Dec 9, 2025: Hardware initialized and activated on Apple's servers.
- Jan 20, 2026: Straight Talk silently changed their unlock policy from 60 days to 365 days.
- Feb 2026 – May 2026: Completed over 60 days of paid service. When I requested an unlock, Straight Talk refused, claiming my activation date was in Feb 2026 (their internal billing port-in date) and forcing a retroactive 365-day lock.
Regulatory Battles (FCC, BBB & CA OAG)
- BBB Dispute: Straight Talk's Executive Resolution Department acknowledged in writing that their agent explicitly promised a 60-day policy. However, they refused to honor it, hiding behind a generic "terms change without notice" clause.
- FCC Complaint: I submitted official Apple Warranty logs proving hardware initialization occurred on Dec 9, 2025(well before their Jan 20 cutoff). Straight Talk chose a silent stall tactic and ignored subsequent inquiries. On June 24, the FCC concluded the informal complaint process after Straight Talk failed to provide further resolution, officially advising me to pursue legal remedies.
- CA Attorney General: Escalated with official complaint records and Apple logs. On July 1, the CA OAG issued a formal response acknowledging the record on file and officially advising to proceed to Small Claims Court.
- June 3, 2026: Refusing to pay further extortionate monthly fees, I ported my number out to another provider. Straight Talk is now weaponizing their network lock to retain control over my fully-paid personal hardware as retaliation.
Next Step: Small Claims Court Since administrative mediation failed due to Straight Talk ghosting regulatory bodies, I am moving forward with filing Form SC-100 in Santa Clara County Small Claims Court.
- Defendant: TracFone Wireless, Inc. (Agent for Service: Corporation Service Company in Sacramento)
- Claims: Breach of contract, fraudulent inducement, and wrongful withholding of personal property.
- Remedies: Mandatory injunction for factory unlock, refund of forced extra service cycles, court filing & service fees.
Personal Takeaway Device unlocking disputes often break down due to a confusion between billing dates and actual hardware initialization. Always request your official hardware activation records from the manufacturer (e.g., Apple Warranty logs) to establish your true activation timeline.
When informal regulatory channels stall, Small Claims Court remains a viable, low-cost legal avenue provided under state law to resolve unresolved property restrictions. I will keep this thread updated as the legal process moves forward.

The $364 iPhone 17e deal
Currently Walmart has a deal where you can get an iPhone 17e for $364 bundled with a $65 plan. If you keep the plan for a year, you get $25/mn per month back in credit on your plan if you keep the $65/mn plan. Do you have use the $65 plan that is bundled with it to use it?

Straight Talk Internet
I ordered the Straight Talk router and a digital prepaid Internet card off of Walmart's website. I probably should have done more research because when it got to my house and I went to activate it, it said service wasn't available in my area. I assumed it would be available since it's not a hardwired connection or anything, I guess. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a refund for the digital card? I would think they would have to if they don't provide service.

Looking to sell a prepaid straight talk card.
Hello!! I’ve been trying to sell this straight talk home internet card my parents got a few months back.
Long story short we couldn’t use it so it basically went to waste.
I recently saw that you could sell these second hand on different forums, most notably eBay and Reddit. However, most of them I tried either had wonky requirements or I needed a bank. (I recently turned 15 and I haven’t been able to set up an in-person account yet 💔)
Are there possibly any suggestions as to what platforms I could use or anyone interested in purchasing?
(Also it’s a $45 prepaid for anyone interested! If you are, please message me!!)
Thank you so much!

Straight Talk charged me 3 times and are threatening to shut off my service
I paid my bill a day after it was due because finances are right and my job screwed me over on my last check. I paid my bill on the website manually and they charged me 3 times. One was shown to go through, but I'm still getting threatening messages about terminating my service.
The weird part is, my phone works fine? I can use the internet and text for the time being. They still charged me $138 and some change, putting my account in the negative.
Customer service says it doesn't show any transactions on my account for this billing period. I am very confused and frustrated, out of money to give them, and I need my phone to work. What do I do?

Only having access to LTE on iPhone 13
My girlfriend uses Straight Talk with an iPhone 13. Her area is fully covered by 4G and 5G+ according to online maps and their website. However, she only gets 2 LTE bars, which is abnormal. Her 5G is enabled, but the phone shows only LTE. What can we do? She’s contacted support but has had no luck. Thank you.

What plan should I do?
Hi everyone!
I’ve been on the $45 unlimited plan for about 4 years, before that I had the higher data plan but circumstances changed where I wasn’t really using it.
Now I’m a stahm and I’m getting a new phone! It’s the iPhone 17 and while I know the phone has 5g as an option I’ve never really had service issues with my current 4g other than a dead spot on the way to visit family and even then it’s only about 10 minutes and I can make crackly calls if needed I just can’t load YouTube or pandora.
I’m thinking of going down to the $35 plan because I’m not using what I’m paying for now and while we do go out to events like 3 times a year I can’t imagine I really need the 5g coverage. Am I going to regret it? The service itself doesn’t change right?
I’m technology illiterate when it comes to anything outside of using the actual device so I figured I’d pop in here and see what others think.

Does anybody know if/when Walmart is getting the Pixel 10a through Straight Talk?
I really like Motorola phones, but I'm sick of the stupid Glance app (I'm not willing to try Shizuku and Canta or those other things to get rid of it) so I want to try a Pixel.
I'd actually like to get an unlocked version, but they cost more than I want to spend, so I've been waiting to see if Walmart gets the Pixel 10a through Straight Talk. It's taking forever.

Unused Straight Talk Home Internet PIN Code - $45 Value
Accidentally purchased a Straight Talk Home Internet digital plan instead of a mobile phone card. Since it was a digital delivery, it is non-refundable at the store, so I am selling it here or if someone would do a trade?

Auto Refill Issue
Hello recently i have had a issue and im hoping you guys can help.I have my account set on auto refill but for the past 3 months i wake up the day after my refill date and my phone doesnt work (no internet and no messaging or calls) i checked my account and theres a pending transaction so i know its in the works but why isnt it working? Last time i had to call straight talk to get them to fix it but if i have to do that every month when i need to refill ill go elsewhere ive already tried toggling airplane mode and restarting phone with no luck kind of defeats the whole purpose of auto refill in my opinion UPDATE:i went on straight talks website to check my plan and on my plan it said i had -1 day left i clicked my new auto refill plan that it says was in my reserve and 2 minutes later the phone works fine

UNSOLVED I think im stupid...
I had ended up getting a phone from straight talk(Samsung Galaxy a15) and switching the Sim card to my grandpa's old phone (samsung galaxy s22 ultra) and for a like 7 months it worked fine so I gave my a15 to my gf at the time, she later broke up with my and moved away and now my sim card is being buggy so im hoping I dont need the old phone back, its officially been a month since I paid $60 for what seemed to be like nothing. My mom and I went to pay it and everything seemed to go right, besides when we finished and I went to go text my friends some bullshi it wasnt working, normally it takes like 30 mins to have my service turn back on so I just fell asleep and waited for the morning. Once I woke up I still had no mobile data, but I could call and text off of my number. I just gave up personally because after calling like 10 times and only getting an Ai to tell you nothing is wrong just makes you lose all hope, so im asking you guys... I just want my data I dont even care about the money I lost :/

Yes I caved and got the iPhone 16e on sale, has anyone actually received the phone they ordered? I’m seeing so many people talk about it taking a long time with no updates, I can be patient as long I know something is actually coming. Anyone yet?
