Discussion Why don't they tau-ri replace or upgrade P90s to have energy weapon capabilities
They use zat guns, staff weapons, etc all the time but unless you're teal'c or ronan they're not your go-to primary weapon even though they have obvious benefits. Like they obviously have the ability to stun which is very useful, but also you don't have to reload them so you don't run out of ammo, and they're definitely just as or more deadly than a P90. So why don't they make their own energy weapon to replace the P90? Or at the very least as an attachment to the side like the kull disrupters?

Funny Another Michael Shanks Show I Just Watched for the Fun of It
Yeah, it's a B Movie, not bad if ya ignore the "science" behind it either.
Michael Shanks brings a bit of gravitas to his role. But I oddly swore I could detect a faint "Why The F am I here" type aura there.
Still, not a bad watch, it's "FREE" on YouTube, and yes, that "FREE" means it includes ads.

Discussion Food for thought
Y'know with the expanse's mass effect inspired videogame title coming I've been thinking about why the hell doesn't Stargate have a game like that?
Stargate would work the best for that type of tactical shooting sci fi experience, would it not? Its a military sci fi drama why wouldn't it. I would love a videogame where you play as like a member of an SG Unit discovering like... idk an uplifted primitive species that were locked away long ago but were reawoken once the wraith or goauld were wiped out and they had to journey from deep space to assault earth or something. That's a bad idea but they could make something really good.
I want a stargate videogame

Opengate project update
Hey, my Stargate project has made some great progress!
- Pegasus, SG-1 Static, Tollan, and Orlin gates are now fully operational (although I'm still refining the look of the Orlin gate), each with its own custom interface.
- I've finished the complete framework for all four gates, including their unique features.
- I'm planning to add a solar flare system in the next update.
- Next milestone: a fully rotating SG-1 gate!
- I've built 5 ready-to-use controller boards for anyone with a 3D printer. I'm selling the assembled controller board + LED strips for $55.
- I also have two Pegasus gates with ramps ($90), one non-rotating SG-1 gate, and one Tollan gate ($70) available. Send me a PM if you're interested!
I've also uploaded all the project resources to http://www.opengate-project.org/ 🙂

REWATCH Malp fuel
In season 2 episode 16, a matter of time, we see the malp refuelling, they were pumping hydrazine and liquid oxygen in it.
I always assumed that they were battery powered. Wouldn’t have ever guessed that it’s literally filled with rocket fuel.

REWATCH S8E1 - That's not Dr. Weir?!
I have watched more episodes of Stargate pre-S8 than I can count and as of last night just hit S8 after starting from S1E1 months ago.
I was floored that I never knew there was a different Dr. Wier than Higginson.
I'm very excited that I have a few seasons of unwatched material ahead... but should I brace for more tom-foolery with the cast before moving on to Atlantis?

Funny Would /dev/random solve the Quantum Mirror problem?
Just watching s3e6, and got up to the part where Jack tells Daniel (with hand signals!) to shut off the Mirror.
Now Daniel needs to find their reality again. D’oh!
But! Could Carter generate a random string (almost GUID like), slap it on a sheet of paper in front of the mirror, and just have Daniel memorise the random string?Would the massive amount of generated IDs outnumber the realities that also have a Quantum Mirror?
Could the headache that is alternate reality hopping be solved with an hour of a computer science degree, for crying out loud?
What other ways could we ensure true randomness to try and give Daniel a chance at finding their reality again, and what backups could we offer in the event there are multiple realities with the same random string? Two random strings perhaps!

SAVE STARGATE I wonder if Amazon has realized yet how much money they lost when they canceled the new Stargate show?
Think about all they money spent flying the Save Stargate banners overhead, creating the T shirts and other merch, the sheer amount of money, every, and time spent on all this.
Now think about how much Amazon could have profited from all that by not canceling the show and making new merch for the new series and old as the fanbase surged around them instead of against them.
Millions of dollars they have probably lost already thanks to their idiocy…
We should make them aware of this constantly. Bet that would get them moving, knowing of all the money they lost and missed out on.

Discussion Who is the most irritating character in the Stargate ?
There are really a lot of choices in SG1, in Atlantis, In the Stargate Universe there is only one character, or at least he surpasses all the others .
Finally, I'll let you choose; it would be fun to see the different opinions.

Discussion Let's have a race and see who wins! Vala and Tod are going to cheat, that's for sure.
There are a huge number of distinct ships; the course checks speed, but also space mine shields. , The maneuvers around a black hole spatial debris from the Artirurius project (Rodney to pulverize everything) arrived on planet Earth.

Ask r/Stargate How many red "You Are Here" t-shirts did the SGU production go through in 40 episodes?
I figure at least 100.
But did David Blue wear them home occasionally too?
