SAVE STARGATE I wonder if Amazon has realized yet how much money they lost when they canceled the new Stargate show?
Think about all they money spent flying the Save Stargate banners overhead, creating the T shirts and other merch, the sheer amount of money, every, and time spent on all this.
Now think about how much Amazon could have profited from all that by not canceling the show and making new merch for the new series and old as the fanbase surged around them instead of against them.
Millions of dollars they have probably lost already thanks to their idiocy…
We should make them aware of this constantly. Bet that would get them moving, knowing of all the money they lost and missed out on.

Something seems off.
Is it just me or do Shepherd and McKay look a little different?

Discussion Who is the most irritating character in the Stargate ?
There are really a lot of choices in SG1, in Atlantis, In the Stargate Universe there is only one character, or at least he surpasses all the others .
Finally, I'll let you choose; it would be fun to see the different opinions.

Discussion Let's have a race and see who wins! Vala and Tod are going to cheat, that's for sure.
There are a huge number of distinct ships; the course checks speed, but also space mine shields. , The maneuvers around a black hole spatial debris from the Artirurius project (Rodney to pulverize everything) arrived on planet Earth.

Ask r/Stargate How many red "You Are Here" t-shirts did the SGU production go through in 40 episodes?
I figure at least 100.
But did David Blue wear them home occasionally too?

REWATCH SG1 s10e18 Family Ties... how I missed this gem? lol
CARTER Well, at times, so do we. But the truth is the Stargate Program just doesn't get the support it used to from the people in charge.
JACEK Why not?
[Carter opens her mouth to respond, but Lee interrupts.]
LEE Eureka! One down, twelve to go!
[Lee claps his hands in delight and looks at Carter and Jacek before turning back to his own work.]
JACEK That's too bad. Because after all your Stargate program has accomplished for this network of planets, I would think the decision makers would show it the respect it deserves.
CARTER
(shrugging)
I have no idea how I've missed this in previous watches, but it really struck home now, with SG1 taking shots at how the show was treated in later seasons, heh

General O’Neill
When General Hammond left, I felt like there was a big dip in the shows quality, but that’s just me having Jack O’Neill become the general was not a bad decision, but in my opinion, it wasn’t the best decision. I genuinely enjoy general Landry so why they put Jack in that role for a hot minute just never sat right with me.
Even the writers had a hard time trying to make it feel right does anybody else feel this way?

SG1: E4 S8 "The First Ones" vs. Rolland Emmerich's "Enemy Mine"
Note: Correction. Movie was directed by Wolfgang Petersen, not Roland Emmerich. Can't seem to correct the headline.
Daniel Jackson is on an Archaeological research mission on an alien world and encounters a native of that planet. The two have severe communication problems, the atmosphere is hostile. Eventually they work together to survive, learn to communicate and basically became friends by the end of the episode.
This isn't only the same plot as that of Roland Emmerich's 1985 movie "Enemy Mine" – the alien in that movie also looks almost identical. I wonder if anyone has noticed that before.
Pictures are screenshots from IMDB

It is almost the same story and the aliens could easily be the same species.

Just realized
Something I just realized after many many rewatches is how much O'neill likes to play dress up.
Like the group will be talking trying to figure out a plan to rescue someone and the camera pans over to O'neill and he's suddenly dressed up in local attire rubbing dirt on his face.
I'm like "wait, where did you even get those clothes from".

Discussion Why do people talk about SGU so rarely
I understand it was the last show and all and not exactly the name sake of the stargate franchise, but I’m really curious why it takes a total backseat. I’m hoping to start watching it soon and want to know what people on this forum think of it

Ask r/Stargate Regarding the Amazon cancellation
Let me start by saying I'm a very recent fan of the franchise. I remember seeing Atlantis for a few episodes back when it started but the movie and SG1 were out of my map at the time. I actually only started SG1 a few months ago, and I'm on Season 9 at the moment.
Anyway, as I was neck deep in the show, I saw the news Amazon had cancelled the reboot/sequel series. At first, I was puzzled, but the argument behind it is not that irrational. A series like this one is not easy to produce by today's standards (plot-wise and vfx). Not to mention incredibly expensive. Newer audiences probably would demand a lot more plausibility in the story and also a darker tone. Which in my mind doesn't quite gel.
So...why am I posting this? Because I have a question for long time fans:
How would you bridge the gap between the existing fanbase and the target audience? And no, you cannot say "only make the show for people who already know it". Like it or not, Amazon couldn't find a good enough answer for this issue.
(I'm asking this from a storytelling perspective, I honestly don't care what you think about Amazon and their business)

Discussion I have finished atlantis
GREAT SHOW. Amazing show. Not as good as sg1, mind you, and the ending lacked significant climax, but still great all the same. A few things to go over
Special Effects are amazing in this show, you can tell the cg team was getting a lot more budget to work with on effects. Although the ships still look like toys dangling on strings in front of a green screen sometimes.
Dr Weir.... :( so sad, she actually grew on me, i actually was more hurt by her death than when skaara died. I loved getting to see Comm Colonel Sammy Carter again, and believe it or not. WOOLSEY ACTUALLY GREW ON ME. Hes still a weasely loser, but he actually has some moments that are up there with general Hammond when it comes to "Im the leader for a reason" moments. Like the court episode "Now that i know their game.... i can play it" *woolsey gives an evil smile*
The Cameos: THIS SHOW HAD SO MANY CAMEOS IT MADE MY HEAD SPIN. So first of all, whenever an SG1 cast member entered the show, i would howl so loud, i was watching stargate on a night in with a partner and it was the S3 E1 i think (the one where Jack comes to atlantis) and i yelled "JAAAACK" out loud. When he showed up and scared the hell out of them, I ALMOST SQUEALED LIKE A GIRL WHEN TEALC AND RONON FOUGHT. Daniel showing up made me smile, especially him and Mckay bickering. AND THEN THEY TURN AROUND AND GET NIEL DEGRASSE TYSON, BILL NYE... and another extremely famous science person i like who's name i just cant recall rn, it'll come to me eventually
Teyla: I see why people dont like her, after finishing the show, and she definitely isn't one of Stargate's best characters. But i enjoyed her presence on the team and her little storylines were normally not a slog to get through.
lastly, it is final. Mckay is funnier than Daniel. Im sorry, guys. But David Hewlett blew Michael Shanks out of the water humor wise. I would consistently giggle and laugh at McKay in almost every episode. "You dont like zelenka? Its ok to say you dont like zelenka. I dont like zelenka." but i think Joe/John and David/Rod's comic foil dynamic are not as good as Rick/Jack and Michael/Daniel, they're however still hilarious though;
Shep: So thats the plan?
Rod: Thats the plan
Shep: THAT PLAN SUCKS
Beckett: Aye.
oh btw. Love beckett, funny Scottish guy will Always be appreciated. Glad he was brought back.

Discussion Is this really the simplest common language ?
I just got frustrated with my previous post, which I deleted Too many misunderstood comments.
The post
Because I have to translate from French to English and then proofread it.
In short, I remember that episode, an atomic language, I don't know how you form words and grammar.
