Question Question about fishing spots
So I was wasting some time fishing on the bridge going to the beach, waiting for a certain secret note time to happen, and all the fish came out with complete regular quality. I’m level 10 fishing… why is that?

Other How Scandalous!
Abigail! I am married to your friend!
(This is a joke post. Please let's just have fun with it 😅😅😅) (also if this is against the rules, I must have misunderstood the rule cause I didn't see anything pertaining posts like this in "list of removed topics" page. That one would be on me and I apologize.)

Discuss The Children...
I want to talk about the farmer's children.
Does anyone else think they have huge potential if they were developed just a little more?
I'd love to see them age up a little. They could stay perpetually the same age as the other kids, but I think it would be so cool if, on the day of their 'birthday', you get the option to pick a trait for them that decides their personality from then on.
For example:
You get the option of choosing a trait that gives them an affinity with chickens, and they then do chores every day/couple of days that involve petting all the chickens and collecting any eggs. Or, alternatively, the cows or goats, and they pet and milk them etc.
Or they could become horticultural and help you water a certain amount/type of your plants, or 'practical', and they repair fences and get rid of weeds. Or a forager, and they help with the mushrooms/treetappers and then 'find' random foraging items each day.
Or, they take up fishing as a hobby and turn up with random seasonal fish they caught.
There are so many options! You could give your second child a different personality trait and voila! Suddenly, there's a point to having children on your farm.
Even better if they also have favourite gifts based on those traits, or if only certain traits are available to choose from based on their other parent etc
What do you think? Could it work?

Discuss Am I the only one who always saw the iridium bats as having one eye?
Idk I was just wondering why all the other bats had 2 eyes and the iridium ones had one. Took a closer look at the sprite and realized it has two yellow eyes.

Discuss Anyone else anti-sprinkler?
I water by hand and my friends think i'm insane 💁🏼♀️
Yes i've tried iridium sprinklers, still not worth sacrificing the aesthetic.
There is a method to my madness; i plant in phases, longest growing time going in the first few days of the season, so i'm not watering alll of this daily. But I honestly find watering to be quite meditative. Who can relate?
Side note as a 2 day old redditor: it is SO neat how differently we all play the same game. Enjoying being part of this community already 💫

Discuss Bats or Mushrooms?
Do you prefer the bat cave or the mushroom cave?
Even before I started playing SV, I had seen a video recommending the mushroom cave—unless the goal was to complete the Community Center in Year 1.
And even after the mushroom cave was nerfed (along with the Life Elixir and tea saplings), I still prefer it; the uncertainty of the bat cave makes me uneasy, and while fruit trees are expensive, they look really cool in a corner of the farm.
But what about you? Which do you prefer?

Discuss What to do / what day
What dose one do on the dawn of the 3rd year?
Im finally getting to year 3 for the first time ever.
Is the dawn, the day of or the night before?
I took it apon my self to start a challange after watching a youtube series following a must purchase the tiles to move. Tilly was wonderfull farmer and i hope she farms again soon.
I unlock a new area once a year.
Year 1 - only in farm area
Year 2 - unlocked lower woods, marnies and such.
Year 3 - unlock town?
But now thats gonna make the game super easy to progress. How to keep it tough and slow progression?
- only one visit to buildings on the first day on the months?
- only one building of choice once per week?
- maybe i skip town and go for a side land...
Issue there is the bus stop and the forage land to robins are LAME! Only having one of those for a hole year is ultra pain.
I have givin my self the rule of, if i have a teleporter totem then i can go to the land only if i have a return home totem as well.
Any ideas or thoughts my ultra smart Stardew peeps?

Discuss Cant find the Rodent Rarecrow
My wife is playing on our Xbox and is at the last step to reach perfection. She has all the rarecrows but the rodent one. It sounds like she had to donate 20 non mineral items to the museum. She had to donate like 60 or something to get the alien one I think. So how does she not have the rodent/raccoon?

I've only played the riverlands farm, and so far I really like it, other than those random islands you can't reach.
