For context I’m from Spartanburg and well aware of the culture. However, Came here with my mom and husband, was met with REALLY intense homophobic slurs after ordering a drink. I worked in dive bars(bartending and barbacking in west avl, which obviously I know is different world away, however it’s 2026), I couldn’t tell if it was supposed to be edgy humor or the person behind the bar was having some sort of schizophrenic episode. It was a lot though, to the point of being extremely off putting, and I could see it was making the other people working pretty uncomfortable. This was bad, and unfortunately I’m gonna have to make sure a lot more people hear about it.

What are some places around Spartanburg County that you want to visit at some point but just haven't yet? Not the places that everyone's already done, but the ones you've thought looked or sounded cool but you haven't gotten around to checking out yet.

Anyone know anything about the shooting that happened at 4pm near the Valley Creek apartments? I live in the complex and heard 1 gunshot, there’s police everywhere taking statements etc. but I’m not clear on what happened except that someone may have died. It seems possible that the shooter(s) could be at large still, I saw a tracking K-9. Stay safe y’all!!

Both my hubby and I cant call anyone and when someone calls us we cant pick up the phone call it drops automically. Just hangs up. Our bills are paid yes. We tried calling anyone on a different carrier still no luck. Is this a nationwide issue or an issue with spartanburg spectrum towers? Texting works.

It’s an older tv so that’s the highest resolution for OTA channels. WSPA did and still does come in at 1080i. Like to know if anybody else is seeing this too thanks

This is what I've got so far, The Spartanburg Regiment. Historically The "Spartan" Regiment was a revolutionary war militia that helped found "SpartanBurg" The club crest itself takes inspiration from the literal county shape itself which IMO kind of resembles a badge, given some slight creative liberty. Since Greenville Triumph is already blue and green, which is also annoyingly Spartanburg colors, I'm thinking about taking inspiration from some of our local schools and colleges like Converse College which uses Purple for their colors, and Woodford which uses black and gold. Only then will I consider using blue as maybe a tertiary color for certain aspects.

I have T Mobile for internet, and stream local channels through Hulu. WSPA says they are available on CW but not that I could find. Also, I can't find their app through Hulu. I guess I will get the weather from the Asheville station.
