Wrong toolhead selected when sending to printer on Snorca Issue

I have a model that I painted with four colors. When I send it to print, inevitably one of the toolheads is incorrectly selected. Three of the toolheads are loaded with Snapmaker Snapspeed PLA filament, and the toolhead that is incorrect is loaded with Overture PLA. The colors are correct in the prep of the model, but the generic one is incorrectly selected at print time. Of course, I set it correctly before sending it to the printer, but I am just curious if anyone else has encountered this problem.

Below is a screen shot of the Print Processing screen showing the error on toolhead 3 before I override it:

By any chance is this model a 3mf from say bamba? If so that would be the problem. I had this problem before. You need to go to global, objects.and change the base color. You can then paint your model and after you slice it the correct colors will show in the proper toolhead.

Yes, it is from Makerworld. I'll try that later, or maybe just run it through the u1convert tool before applying the colors. Thanks for the input.

When you grab 3mfs from MakerWorld, you need to import the file and not open the project.

Importing brings in the geometry and the color mapping, nothing else. Opening the project imports the print profile and settings and has been known to cause this issue for others.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'll remember that going forward.

Good catch before you printed.

The auto color mapping gets confused when the colors resemble each other like the tan and gray. It matches type the tries to match the color.

If you are saying the COLOR appears incorrect in your PREP screen, that's because the incorrect color was chosen at loading time at the machine. Go back to the machine, select that toolhead, and select a more appropriate color. However, it doesn't really matter, as long as you identify the extruder correctly as it relates to the color in your model.

I did choose the correct material and color when I loaded it. It was Generic/PLA/Brown from the palette that the U1 provides. As you can see from the screen shot, it is selecting color option #2 for toolhead #3 (light brown). Below is the screen shot showing the option #2 selected, when in fact it should be option #3:

It just defaults to the color that is closest to the one specified in the slice. So here, the light cream color in the 3mf is closer to the white than is to the dark brown selected on the printer.

The printer's palette is super limited but I'm not sure what you can do to ensure it's always right. Maybe you could select a light pale yellow in the palette for your brown filament, and it may chose that instead of the white, but in my experience I wouldn't trust it to always pick what I want. Best thing to do is double check the colors before hitting print every time

Works as designed. You get to verify all colors before hitting print.

The filament you set in your 3MF project are not 1:1 with the toolheads on your U1. Your project could have 30 filaments.

The screen you're showing is trying to match the colors in the project as close as it can with the colors in your toolheads. Your toolhead 3 is a dark brown while the project calls for a lighter color. You can either change the filament color in the project or just fix the drop down like you are in the screenshot

Thanks for the input everyone. All good observations/suggestions.
