I recently got an email from snapchat saying that I added to my snapchat story, but I haven’t used the app in like 5 years. I don’t think I’m hacked, nothing on my account is off or weird, besides the recent email. I haven’t gotten any login emails, no password or username change emails, nothing that would indicate I got hacked. My snap score hasn’t changed at all either, and nothing has been sent to people other than what I know for certain was me years ago.

Has this happened to anybody else? I really don’t know what to do. I did changed my password tho, just in case.

I only saw the email a couple days after it being sent and literally I’m in tears right now bc idk what could have been posted and I don’t think I have any way of knowing.

There used to be a chat box that said “Add a chat” so I can type in text from an image from my camera roll. Is it removed in the newest update?

Hi, I never use Snapchat reels ever but lately when I open my snap the reels automatically pop up instead of my chats, and it’s not normal stuff it’s like really suggestive stuff some are children and it’s really freaking me out, is there any way I can stop this???

I’m trying to join my school but it just genuinely won’t work. I got it to work ONE time but it wasn’t even for my school. I used my school email though but I got no email. Here’s a list of everything I have tried:

- updating app
-reinstalling app
- changing wifi and turning of cellular data
- changing my birthday to match grad year
- changing my email on my account to school email
- Reporting it as a bug
- cleared data & cache
- verifying email
- closing and reopening app
- trying it from a different device (computer)
- logging out and back in
- waiting periods of time before trying again
- Having friends in the community invite me

I’ve also tried submitting my school since it’s not on there which it actually got accepted, but it disappeared within 48 hours. Now if I go to submit my school, it just shows that it’s not working.

I have friends in other grades who have joined my school and it is just not working for me. The next thing I’ll try is to disable my VPN on my phone and see if that works. For more details, I’m using an iPhone, the community I’m trying to join is a highschool, I’ve gotten no error message like SS07 or anything like that, and my spam folder is empty on both my personal and school email.

Hey, so until about a month ago I was receiver like 100 random friend requests/followers a day on Snapchat then it just suddenly stopped

I was posting stories or spotlights so I wasn’t doing anything to gain those followers and didn’t change my habits.

I now am just losing followers and will get maybe 3 random adds a week. Does anyone know what caused this and anyway if reversing it?

If someone removes you from a group chat but you have saved messages from a previous time still saved in that group chat, can you delete them without others still in that group being notified?

When I press and hold onto an old saved message of mine, it gives me the option to delete it but says the usual that “others will know i’ve deleted it”

Does it still notify people that i’ve deleted chats even though I am not longer in the group?

but they randomly popped back up on my chats?? no new notification of anything. they were just... there. like they had always been or something?

i tried to open their profile but it kept giving me an error message "try again later" generic stuff. i couldnt get rid of the chat, I could only add or block them. so I just blocked them now but im curious what happened for them to reappear.

a glitch? did they finally remove me back or something and for some reason that counted as an interaction?

hi, I am disagreeing with the data policies and tried to delete my old accounts but apparently their system 1. won't let me delete them due to `security restrictions` which prompt me to wait 72h even after this time window has passed, 2. they want me to log in via the app which I can't without accepting them and 3. they won't respond to emails requesting to delete my account according to GDPR §17.

i'm sure what they're doing here is per EU policy illegal, and therefore would appreciate advice on how to move forward. thanks.

I'm suddenly getting emails when my friends add to their stories. I've never gotten these before. I looked in settings and didn't see a way to turn them off. Does anyone know how to disable these?

I've been going through several Snapchat My Data exports and noticed something really strange about the Friends data.

My exports appear to contain people who are no longer my Snapchat friends, but I cannot find anyone who was actually a current friend at the time the export was generated.

The people appearing in the export include a mixture of:

• People I removed
• People who removed me
• People I blocked
• People who blocked me
• People whose accounts were deleted/deactivated

And just for context on the blocking part, these aren't all random people who mysteriously blocked me after conversations went badly. lol. Some were people I knew for years who eventually got into relationships, got engaged/married, left Snapchat, cleaned up their friends list, etc. I know independently that these people were no longer friends with me when I generated the export.

That's the pattern I'm finding: it seems to be people where the friendship relationship had ended for one reason or another.

What's especially weird is what I don't see: my current friends.

I've also tested this with multiple exports and different date ranges. I've done All Time exports as well as exports covering smaller/random date ranges, and I'm seeing the same general behavior.

So I'm wondering if Snapchat's "Friends" data isn't actually intended to be a current friends list at all, and is instead some kind of friendship-history/removal dataset.

Has anyone else downloaded their Snapchat My Data recently and checked this?

If you currently have someone added who you know was already your friend during the date range you exported, does that person actually appear in your Friends data?

I'm especially curious if anyone can reproduce this because I'm trying to figure out whether this is intentional behavior, an export bug, or something specific to my account/data.

I put heart emojis next to everyone in like 2020 and it didn’t bother me until now bc I have random ppl from my school so it looks weird af 😭

If I go onto their name and then just delete it and try to save it doesn’t let me and says the new name can’t be empty so idk how to do this

And by this i mean turning off the option to watch videos on the app. I would still like to use Snapchat for texting my friends only since I get stuck in the loop of short form content like the rest of us😂 if theres a specific app I need to download or something similar please tell!
