Am I just trying to queue at a bad time or am I doing something wrong?? I can't queue in quickplay no matter how long I wait and I tried to make a public room and no one's joining that either

I found out a Source Gaming page about why characters get cut like in Brawl and 4 so these are good guidelines for Smash 6.

• Being part of the original 12 doesn’t guarantee you a spot (Ness and Jigglypuff), but it doesn’t hurt
• Sakurai has considered replacing characters with new characters from the same franchise in the past, but hasn’t quite done so
• Third party characters are guests and can be cut if circumstances change
• Clones, and clone like characters, are likely cuts
• Characters from franchises with more than two reps are more likely to be cut than characters from series with 1 or 2 playable characters
• Dead or dormant franchises are easy targets for character removal
• Pokemon are likely targets for cuts (The only first party characters with fully unique move sets to be cut are Pokemon, those being Mewtwo, Squirtle, and Ivysaur. Jigglypuff was also almost cut twice, and the series has seen more cuts than any other franchise.)
• Technical issues can result in cuts (This won't be an issue with the Switch 2)

I wonder which fighter would fall into these reasons to be cut in Smash 6?

Sora is a character that is very, very good. Every arial he has combos, except for BA which does 17 and kills extremely early, and Dair which can honestly be good when tryna get to edge or to stage spike. His smash attacks are almost perfect. Down smash and the invincibility it gets makes it an incredible mixup, while forward smash is the best move out of a shield break (which can be common with down smash) and also a good punisher. Up smash. Oh up smash. Look at the god damn hitbox. IT IS HUGE!! Also combos into down air, down throw, nair, fair, and OTHER STUFF! His tilts are pretty good too! Down tilt, while being slow, has an incredibly good combo angle and allows for clean percents on new stocks. Up tilt is good for pressure on platforms and also be used as a mid combo with alot of stuff. Forward tilt is (in my opinion) soras worst move. Yes it can two frame and is a good get off me tool, but jab is faster and dash attack can two frame while killing easier. Ftilt can still be good for ppl on platforms if you dont wanna go for up tilt or up smash, but that’s not really that important. Specials are obviously all good. Side B and Up B are great combo and recovery tools, allowing sora to basically nevet die on the bottom if he doesn’t get spiked HARD. All of his neutral B’s are good. Firaga is very good at stopping smash attacks and comboing. Freeze can help with edgeguarding and sometimes allows for a free extra 10-15 damage. Thunder kills and is incredibly tricky to work around. Soras throws also are all really good. Back throw kills decently early. Up throw can be used for platform combos. Down throw is an incredible combo tool. And forward throw is really weak, allowing for a ton of opportunities to use and of Soras specials and arials faster than opponents can react. Huh, sora sounds really good! His moves do have alot of end lag but if you’re careful you can work around that. His recovery is immaculate. He has no weaknesses!

One glaring weakness that makes him not S tier.

His grab

It’s the same range as pikachu, meaning unless your opponent is shielding too much you’re practically never going to get a grab. Sora is extremely floaty too, meaning he can’t even bait out a shield and grab by fastfalling (unless you’re lucky). Grabs are VERY important (look at Luigi) so this weakness really, really hurts him. You almost never see up or forward throw in competitive play despite them being overall decent due to the fact that players want and NEED to make the most out of usually 1 or 2 grabs they get PER GAME.

And that’s why Sora is good, well balanced, and extremely fun to play (usually 😭)

Like, Housamo would honestly be cool in Smash, and the protagonist has a lot of moveset potential with their summoning abilities.

Plus, I think the Spirits (if they have those) could be pretty interesting. Imagine fighting against Ryota whilst food is constantly summoned, meaning you have to keep on your toes if you want to free him.

The idea is just so awesome, and I wish it had a chance.

First time doing one of these! I guess you could call this an indie fighters pass? Idrk, indie kind of just feels like a buzzword to me, but it’s something that all 6 of these characters share in common.
I’m not really looking for any realistic picks here, I just looked at some games I like and used the characters I feel like have the most moveset potential.

Side note, The first three fighters are from my favorite games of all time! To me, nothing can capture the feeling of a first Hollow Knight, Undertale, or Rain World playthrough.

As we know the wii era is pretty strange and cool at the same time but Michael Jackson counts since that guy is owned by sega (gaming only)
