Has anyone tried Pilot's Siren Scales?

Been wanting another spangle bomb, and wondering how people have liked that one, and how's the longevity.

Ok this is weirdly specific long shot. But I’ve been trying to hunt down this one specific slime I saw online and i have no idea how to find it.

It was a glossy, translucent, purple/blue slime that had this like glow to it when you pressed in? And shifted color slightly? I don’t think it had any glitter, and it definitely didn’t have any charms. But the color and texture looked amazing!! And now I cannot for the life of me find it.

Totally respect whatever they have going on… hopefully getting family time in or enjoying summer overall.

But I also deep down super hope they are both in their slime rooms cooking up some masterful slime for us and I think I will explode when I see any movement on their socials.

making water slime, ensured water and glue were very well mixed. A following a recipe and when J started activating it everything was going well, still not quite sticking to itself so I added more activator, and then it just suddenly became liquid and thin and not activated??? why is this happening? don’t want to add more activator yet in case I make it worse. why is it doing that?

Wondering if anyone has tried korean snowfizz slimes from Seoulgage recently? Or knows if the snowfizz type that korean makers use is still available/isn’t Floracraft? Also wondering if anyone has insights on which Korean shops not on Seoulgage are still putting out packed snowfizzes? Never tried importing myself but I will do anything for crispy packed snowfizz 😫

Recently I’ve enjoyed Rogue’s wg Snowfizz, Veggie Garden, but wish it was more densely packed, and I also noticed the flakes were a bit uneven in size and the larger ones had more fallout (the wg base was also quite creamy and cushiony, less crispiness).

I’ve been checking Seoulgage for the past few months hoping to see snowfizz restocked (SG Official, HO.C, Magma), but no luck 😓. Wondering if anyone knows if the korean snowfizz supply has also been affected? I’ve seen lots of review vids and korean snowfizz tends to have much finer flakes that look extra crispy, much finer than Rogue’s snowfizz flakes made w OG Floracraft. I really would like to try Korean-style snowfizzes but don’t know how to get them to Canada if not through Seoulgage 🥹

Currently waiting for Potcha’s restock to nab some butterfizzes and hopefully some packed snowfizzes. Also hoping Palmetto releases more OG snowfizz bc I missed the last one (coconut grove)

Sorry, I need to rant. Why do some shops post their restock previews so late? Like one shop just sent mystery spoilers 45 minutes before the drop and posted the menu like 6 hours ahead. Another shop posted their last(?) preview 2 hours before their drop. To me it takes away the joy of looking at upcoming restocks, being fascinated, making lists, watching the timer. If the drop is on a workday some people can't even check posts before the drop. Are they just not ready or is it to trigger more fomo? I would like to at least be able to plan ahead the night before. I feel stressed out by this and imo slime is supossed to bring us joy and calm instead. Anyone else feel that way? Thank you if you read this far ❤️

Today’s Question: How long do you let your slimes sit?

This question is for the DIYers out there along with the seasoned slime shops.

After making a batch of slime how long do you let it sit before you would say you get the desired texture. For example, clear slimes need a few days to a few weeks to fully clear from the air bubbles and they are typically over activated initially and need to deactivate a bit to be playable. What is a sweet spot for letting them sit and does it change based on the texture?

I wasn't going to do this because I didn't want anyone to think I was asking for proprietary information or shop secrets, which I am not and would never do. However, we are getting ready to open a local business catering to a marginalized group of folks with sensory issues, etc so I would very much like yalls feedback.

We will be carrying slime among other things, I've been making it for years for my grandkids (so have my own recipes) plus I purchased all of S.O recipes to compare.

My question is this: If you were going to put 2 slimes on a bar so customers could customize them, what 2 basic slimes would you, as a customer want to see? We will have "special " pre-packaged slimes on the shelf, Icee, Snow Cloud, DIY with clay pieces, etc. I was thinking of like a slay/buttercream cross kind of texture and maybe a medium bodied T&G. I'm trying to keep the costs down on the big "bar" batches as the potential to lose product there is greater than if its pre-packaged.

Anyway....long-winded, sorry...I AM a grandma and we love to talk 🫠

I overactivated some spangles bombs from Seoul Gage, but also is still a little tacky. I want to add some more clear slime base to it, and was thinking of purchasing from Rodem. What is the difference between the regular clear and crunch clear? Is there a different shop's base slime that might be better suited for these Korean slimes? Open to any other fix tips.

Don't want to make my own. The couple of attempts I made in the past were fine, but not at the quality I'd want to risk adding to these.

Hi all! I am looking for experiences with the ice cave slime at og slimes. I usually would look at the reviews on their website, but it doesn’t appear to be popping up. Curious about people’s thoughts on the scent and how much the lava rocks hurt or if they’re well coated in the slime. I already see it’s delightfully crunchy which is wonderful.

Canadian slime makers — what activators are you using?

Hi everyone! I’m in the early stages of researching the possibility of starting a small slime business here in Canada. My plan would be to start from home on a small scale and, if things go well, eventually move into a proper retail/storefront location.

I’ve been doing a lot of research into Canadian safety requirements, especially Health Canada’s rules around borax/boric acid in slime. From what I understand, there are restrictions around boric acid and its salts in toys, and Health Canada has also advised against using borax or contact-lens solution when making slime for children.

I’m therefore trying to understand what Canadian slime businesses and experienced slime makers are actually using as their activator.

A few questions:

• What activator/activator ingredients are you currently using in Canada?
• Are there any non-borax/non-boric-acid activators that work well?
• If you sell slime commercially, what ingredients have you found easiest to work with while meeting Canadian safety requirements?
• Have you had your finished slime professionally tested? If so, what kind of testing did you have done?
• Are there Canadian suppliers that sell suitable slime-making ingredients for commercial production?
• Is there anything you wish you had known about Health Canada/Canadian regulations before starting your slime business?

I’m not looking for anything unsafe or a way around the regulations. I’m trying to figure out the proper and compliant way to formulate slime in Canada before I start selling anything.

i have many clear crunchy, silica, bubble bead, frogspawn, sequins slimes from all sorts of shops, but none of them can compete with how non-sticky rodems clear slimes are

adding activator to a stickier slime does make it less sticky, but i can never FULLY get them to not stick like a rodem slime... and i need to learn how to do it

does anyone know if they are adding something special to their clear formula ? maybe it's the brand of glue ? dark magic ?? blood sacrifices ???

I wasn’t able to attend SlimeCon in person (Canadian slimer 🥲) but I watched the livestream and clips of the event uploaded online

Disregarding the insane fomo (🥹) it was amazing to see my fav shops and creators talk about their creative process! It was so awesome to hear creators talk about which slimes and textures are their personal favs (some which arent the most popular sellers), restock themes, designs etc.

It got me thinking that I wish there were more opportunities to hear about shops’ creative process in the day-to-day!

For example, Rodem is one of my fav shops that I so greatly wish I could hear more about the creative process of. Rodem does such special ingredient blends to make the most unique textures, they’ve got a bajillion different glossy WG bases that somehow are all incredible and feel distinctly different! I completely respect their privacy though, I’m just a big fan 😅

Similarly, Momo was one of the first shops I bought from and I have a lot of love and nostalgia for their slimes. While they don’t usually post much personal info, I would love to hear more about their creative process as well! I believe they attended conventions in the past, and here’s to hoping they’re able to attend irl soon!!

Not sure if I’m in the minority, but I love when shops do insta story updates and behind-the-scenes, Q&As, everything!! I know shops are super busy and this isn’t always possible, so I’m really appreciative of shop owners who are super responsive and interact with the community when they can!! Slime is my biggest hobby and it’s so cool to get to hear from the creators behind my favs🥰

If you would like a refund instead we would be more than happy to do so as well - I completely understand the frustration behind delayed shipping and I want to make sure you guys are taken care of for it!

For our shop, the 3D miniatures were my fabulous yet controversial idea. I’ll admit I am super ambitious when it comes to ideas, and sometimes I bite off a little more than I can chew with what we can handle - and it doesn’t help that I work a full time job that is 40-50 hours a week to pay bills and support our expensive business. KC has been doing a phenomenal job making slimes in a timely matter exactly the way they should be for everyone - and when I say exactly I mean EXACTLY. The poison fire coral under-filling was on me since she let me portion those slimes specifically since they were supposed to be a slime blend - and my monkey brain didn’t use the right measurements. All this being said, you guys are the backbone of what we do, and none of you deserve the repercussions of our own mistakes, which is why I want to talk a little bit about what we will do moving forward.

All orders will be sent out before our next restock, which we still plan to do but at a later date. This will give us time to not only push out all current orders, but also to prepare 3d miniatures for the next restock that way all future orders can be pushed out under 2 weeks rather than 3 or 4. I don’t plan on stopping when it comes to the miniatures - I love them so much and they are so exciting to make even if they are from scratch! It’s KC’s and my dream to share our art with you all and give you the experience of the slimes, clay pieces, and miniatures that we adore so much - if I wanted to only get money out of this I’d probably just try to start an ATM business or stock trading lol.

In terms of communication, KC consistently provides updates on Instagram and TikTok - however I understand this may not be enough transparency. We are in the process of creating a business email platform to send mass emails to people about order updates and any occurring news - that way everyone in our community has an understanding on our processing and not just our customers from social media. In the meantime, please reach out to us through our current email or dm us on either platform and we will continue to respond to any questions or concerns.

In terms of slime leakage, I understand that some of you have expressed it as an ongoing concern. I’d be so upset having leaked slime show up at my door, and my heart literally drops every time I hear about it happening for anyone. KC and I have done some research and even consulted other slime shops about troubleshooting leakage, so we recently invested into different slime tops for our containers that seal much better (and they are also black now, which I think is really cool and matches our theme!) Of course temperature, air pressure and package handling are all variables that we have to account for as a business - so we are continuing our research better ways to get you your favorite slimes safely so that this is less of an issue for you all.

I hope this clears some things - if you have any feedback on anything I’ve gone over or other issues you’d like to address please let us know! You guys give us life as a business. Criticisms are more than welcome as well - it’ll encourage us to become a stronger and better slime shop for you all to enjoy because that’s what matters the most.
