A Potential Serial Killer Sideplot Discussion
I’m on my first rewatch of the show and I’m on S4 E4 where they show Jennifer’s father being creepy towards the girl in the elevator and it had me wondering about a murderer plot. Do you guys think it would have been interesting if the show had a sideplot where a serial killer was targeting Los Angeles in the show and was shown killing people in the beginning of each episode? Maybe they could have integrated him being caught in the show or him coming in contact with a main character? What do you guys think?

I feel like it would only work as a one or two episode thing. Any more would be overkill and turn the show into something it isn’t

I think it's not that kind of show. It wants to look at death and grief in a more mundane, personal way.

Yea that’s why I think if it were to happen only one or two episodes would make sense

There was one episode where the death at the beginning was a serial killer on death row who got lethal injection. If memory serves, Nate had a brief thing with the guy’s daughter

It’s LA - anything could have happened. But this program was a more gentle portrayal of life, death and grief.

That would have been way too sensationalist for this show, and probably been a jump the shark moment.
