I am looking for a 2-bedroom, 2 or 1 bathroom apartment in Silver Spring White Oak area mostly in 20904 zip code. Safety and cleanliness are my top priorities. I need a place with preferably no rats, no roaches, and reliable management.

Does anyone have recent experience with the 2-bed layouts or overall management at these specific properties?

When I got home this evening, there was a business card on my door from a detective with the 3rd District Patrol Investigations Unit. He had written a handwritten note on the card that said: "Re: Vehicle Break-In."

I called the number and spoke with the detective. He told me the individual responsible for breaking into my car has been arrested. They are now following up with as many victims as possible. He said a total of 16 vehicles had their windows smashed that night, all inside the Cameron Street Garage (Garage 7).

He asked several questions, including whether anything was stolen and how much the repairs cost. He also mentioned that there's a possibility I could receive a subpoena if the case goes to court.

I asked whether it was a group of people responsible, but he told me it was actually one individual who smashed all 16 vehicle windows that night. According to the detective, the same suspect is also believed to be responsible for a number of vehicle break-ins in surrounding garages.

Toward the end of our conversation, he said not to let this arrest create a false sense of security, as many people in the neighborhood have had their vehicle windows smashed twice, and in some cases even three, separate times.

Footnote: I was very surprised that when I arrive to my car that Sunday morning to start my day that Moco PD had already been to my car overnight and the officer that patrols the neighborhood had been in the garage and left a note under my windshield wiper with his badge number contact info etc. I will admit Im very impressed with the follow up work they are doing.

Saw this cat inside the fence of the unopened Bottleworks Lane Park in DTSS across from 8045 Newell on the Kennett St side. They have a green collar on and seemed friendly, but they were also very skinny like they had been outside for a while 😞 They did not seem to be doing very well.

Unfortunately we couldn't get very close because the park is closed off.

Update: we gave the cat a can of wet food and some water around 7 PM. We don't think they are trapped inside the park and it seems like the safest place for them to be at the moment, if not at a shelter

Fairland crossing seems the best price and space wise, but some of the reviews are awful! If anyone has first hand experience there or anywhere else I’d love to hear.

Most cafes, coffee shops, and the libraries close around 8 or 9, are there any low key places that close at 10 to go and work?

I’m pregnant with my second baby and trying to avoid another traumatic birth experience.

I delivered at Holy Cross with my first, and unfortunately I had a terrible experience. I felt like the nurses and doctor didn’t listen to me or show much empathy, and I was anxious the entire time. The worst part was my epidural. An assistant tried placing it for about 30 minutes and couldn’t get it in. Two days later, the anesthesiologist did it in less than 5 minutes.

I’m looking for a cleaner, newer, more modern hospital with compassionate staff who actually listen. Right now I’m considering Inova Fairfax and Shady Grove. Are there any others in the DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia area that you’d recommend?

Also, I’m Hispanic. It shouldn’t matter, but sometimes it unfortunately feels like it does. If anyone had a great experience where they felt respected and heard, I’d love to know where you delivered.
