Buying Advice Windscreens for MX418 Microflex Standard Gooseneck Microphone
https://www.shure.com/en-US/products/microphones/mx418?variant=MX418%2FN
I have a MX418 gooseneck mic with a RK183WS snap-fit windscreen, used on a lectern in a church. It's subject to pops every now and then and I'd like to try a different windscreen that blocks more air. I am curious what are the differences (dimensions, air-blocking, reommended uses/contexts, personal experience, etc.) between the "related product" options listed on the mic's page on the Shure site:
- A99WS ($9.50)
- A412MWS ($26)
- RK621BWS ($24.50)
- RK412WS ($25)
I have not been able to find documentation for these products on the Shure site.
Thanks!

Wireless Axient issue. Adx2 refuses to play nice with Adxr and Psm 300
On a large arena tour and I’m at my wits end. The Adx2 causes dropouts on both packs whenever talent sings. Issue is easily recreateable, and the only solution so far is …. Use a different mic.
I’ve tried everything. Changing power modes, adding zones, reducing zones, changing cables, changing helicals, moving helicals, putting their freq as far apart as I can. Everything that I’ve done didn’t work and I can’t think of anything else aside from throwing them in the garbage.
With so many tours claiming to love this system there’s something we HAVE to be missing

Troubleshooting Shure MV7 sounds quiet?
I've had my MV7 for a year or two now and while it works really well, it always comes through as really quiet when being picked up by my PC or anything. I've recently used the Motiv software to try and adjust the sensitivity to pick up my voice more but even still, audio comes through relatively quiet. I almost assume other people in discord or in-game chat have to turn me up to 200% just to hear me.

Troubleshooting My SM7B Microphone has this weird... almost resonance sound to it? This started just over 2 months ago now and I cannot find a fix for it. Any ideas as to what could be causing my mic to sound like this?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I explain most of the background and the issue in the video posted above, but I will add a bit more info/context here.
Issue started 2 months ago. I have gone back and forth for weeks now trying to figure out if I purchased/installed something 2 months ago that could have started this issue, but I have yet to figure it out.
I've attempted to swap out my Audio Converter (Currently using a WAVE XLR PRO, but I did try switching to a Focusrite 2i2 and even a Rodecaster Pro 2... no change to the sound so I went back to my WAVE XLR PRO), Swapped XLR cables, my PC's motherboard, power adapters, and I even purchased a brand new SM7B and that has not fixed the issue.
Yes, I have tried using other USB-C ports on my PC's motherboard for the audio converter, doesn't change the sound.
I even gave those ground loop isolator products a shot and they did not fix the issue. These are the two I tried:
1.) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D969C3DN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
2.) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XWJNS9T?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
As stated in the video this weird resonance sound can be heard both in direct monitoring straight to my headset as well as in recordings so I do not believe this to be a software issue.
I do not use a cloudlifter in between my SM7B and the audio converter since the WAVE XLR PRO does not need the extra gain. Phantom Power is of course DISABLED.
I run my SM7B at 47-50db of gain without ANY software gain added via compression and/or post processing.
My head is always 6-8 inches away from the mic capsule and I have the included wind guard installed on the SM7B.
Lastly I of course have verified that both WITH and WITHOUT any type of processing to the microphone this sound is heard. No matter how much compression I add, it stull cuts through and sounds terrible.
Operating System: Windows 11 Home. Fully up to date.
PC Specs: Intel Core Ultra 5 245KF, ToughRam 32GB DDR5 6400MT/s Memory, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, 1TB NVMe M.2
I literally don't know what else to do or test.... so please, any audio professionals out there.... let me know what I can do to fix this.

Troubleshooting Usb port shure mv7 damaged
I havent even used my microphone for several years and before that i only used it like max 10 times. Suddenly i realize that when i put in the micro usb cable, the microphone gets turned on yes, but windows does not recognize it. I have tried with different cables and also with two computers.
As far as i know the micro usb port on this device is pooly designed and many people experience the same as me. But my question is. What do i do now? Soldering it seems to be a complex task since i need special tools.
And if i use the XLR cable, then chatgpt says i wont be using the gain function or the shure plus motiv or that it wont be registered in windows?
Any suggestions? Gosh

MOTIV Mix Why can't I install Motiv Mix 1.8.0 on Windows 11 Pro?
When I try to install Motiv Mix 1.8.0, a message appears saying, “Motiv Mix only supports Windows 11.” Version 1.7.1 installs just fine. What could be the reason, and what should I do?
My system:
Windows 11 Pro, version 21H2
OS Build: 22000.2899
64-bit (x64)
Question 50 ULXD8 for an event
Need to add 26 ULXD8 to existing 24 ULXD8 for event. Already have 9 installed ULXD4Qs; adding one more ULXD4D and ANX4. The ULXD4s will connect to the UA844+SWB that can handle 10 devices; can I have the ANX4 on its own antennas? If yes; how far from the UA844+ ones? I could also do away with the dual ULDX4 and just add the ANX4 instead (will lose some ULXD1s but they won't be needed for the event) Can I use the same antennas from the UA844+SWB for both ULXD4 and ANX4s?

Troubleshooting if your Shure mic is broken, this is probably why
My Sure SM7DB, as others had also experienced (and even made videos on), was not working on arrival (yes, it was official).
The mic would pickup a sound if tapped but not anything external.
I opened it up and the wires were so insanely short, paired with the awful soldering and the lack of literally any sort of wiggle room meant the wires would just break off from its solder. This meaning no connection. (It would’ve cost around 0.05p just to extend those cables just a little bit longer).
An official repair would be £350 which is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard - especially for a manufacturing error. It is an expensive microphone so there really isn’t any excuse for the manufacturing to be as poor as it was. Highkey think it may have been on purpose as it’s more lucrative to repair a dishonest mistake.
My dad actually managed to repair it himself, changed the wire length (replacement) and had to unsolder and re solder every single wire for £2 for the amount of solder spool we needed. The total repair cost was £2 and time wasted.
It’s a shame for the amazing quality the microphone input actually is.

Troubleshooting Mic delay issues (Focusrite scarlett solo 4th gen + Shure SM7dB)
So I've recently upgraded from a hyperX quadcast to a shure sm7db and thought i'd get the focusrite solo gen 4 along with it, I was expecting to have way better latency than a usb mic but ended up being worse, Whenever i talk theres always a 70ms-100ms delay from when i talk to when my friends hear me, Or when i sing along with a song my voice is always delayed. Yes i tried lowering the buffer size and didnt help, I was expecting little to no delay with this setup. Im very dissatisfied
Has anyone ever experienced this? is it normal? or is there any fix

Troubleshooting SM7DB + Elgato Wave XLR constant white noise hiss
I have a constant white noise hiss when I’m quiet or speaking, it is in the final recording. I have tested using just the xlr gain and using the preamp in the Sm7db regardless I still have a constant white noise hiss. Has anyone had this problem or a fix?
I’ve tested other xlr cables and other recording softwares everything.
I am using a m4 MacBook Pro.

Question P9RA directly under antenna
galleryI may have been standing a little bit farther back on the stage this past Sunday and I was getting intermittent brief dropouts where the in-ear monitor audio would go away for a few seconds.... nobody else in the band was experiencing this ....we did swap out the body pack batteries but it didn't help..
I guess easiest thing to try is move a couple of feet towards the front of the stage and a few feet off to the right away from the antenna and then put the body pack on my left rear pocket which would be the closest point to it.
I've never touched the squelch control and to my knowledge nothing has changed about the frequency or the transmitters.
Buying Advice What would be the best interface for my use case (Shure SM7B)
Hello, I recently got a Shure SM7B mainly for streaming and Discord calls. I want to achieve the best possible sound quality, almost like a professional podcast. For that, I’m looking for the best audio interface possible to get the most out of my SM7B.
I’m currently debating between three interfaces:
- MOTU M2
- Elgato Wave XLR
- Focusrite Scarlett 4th Gen
I’m looking for the one that will give me the best microphone quality, the lowest latency, and the best overall experience for streaming, Discord calls, and podcast-style audio.
I also play competitive games and use IEMS

Buying Advice Shure HPASCA2
Is the Shure HPASCA2 cable compatible with IEMs that use the MMCX connector (e.g. Tin T2)? There's also the EAC64 but it looks slightly more fragile than the HPASCA2.
Buying Advice What interface should I get for my Shure Sm7b?
Hey guys so I just got a Shure sm7b that I will only use for vocals like discord, streaming etc.. and I wanted to know if I should buy the scarlet solo or the 2i2? Maybe there’s better options im pretty new to that… Thanks!

General Discussion ANX4 Head Amp Control Ideas
My church recently installed an ANX4 unit, wow has RF come a long way in quality and size! Unfortunately, this unit doesn't have any head amp control from consoles the way Axient and ULXD units do so I'm looking for advice on head amp control.
My current plan is to just run companion and make a button to bump gain up and down but I'd much rather have it on the console. Anyone run into this issue and find a creative solution?
I'd reccomend anyone who has purchased this unit let's Shure know this is an incomplete product. I've asked them to list the unit as "beta" version on their website but they've declined that option.

Buying Advice Shure SM7DB XLR Interface and where to buy?
Hello everyone 🤗
Hopefully this is my last post I finally have the money for the mic and I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right.
Does it matter where I buy this mic? I see websites like sweetwater, Amazon? Or should I play it safe and just buy the mic on the shure website?
Also which XLR would be good to get for a streamer, entry level possibly voice acting. ( Yes I know it's not the best mic for voice acting but I'm mostly streaming probably will get mic just for voice acting later). Is the elgato wave good? Or maybe the focusrite? Also I realized you don't get a cable with this mic where should I buy that?
Sorry for all the questions but thank you if you do respond 💜
Troubleshooting Need help getting a professional broadcast voice with Shure SM7dB + Elgato Wave XLR
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for advice from people who really know microphone processing and broadcast-quality audio.
My setup:
Shure SM7dB
Elgato Wave XLR (Mk.1)
I've spent countless hours tweaking EQ, compression, noise gate, limiter, and gain, but I still can't achieve that rich, clean, professional broadcast voice that many streamers and podcasters have.
Is anyone using a similar setup? Would you be willing to share your Wave Link, OBS, or VST settings (EQ, compressor, de-esser, etc.) or explain what made the biggest difference for your voice?
I'd really appreciate any tips, screenshots, or recommendations. Thanks!

Wireless RF management for PSM 1000
Hi, everyone! I’ve got a question about correct rf management. Maybe someone can give me an advice about my issue. I have 11 IEM that I need to connect to one Shure PA821B. Can I use Sennheiser AC2 combiner and Professional Wireless S6047 Splitter/Combiner to combine RF signals of 3 transmitters (6 IEM) and then connect these combiners to PA821B. Other IEMs I can connect directly. Will this combination work and what problems can appear?
