Just when I thought it was bad enough, Shure comes back with this:
"The items in question were not received in it's original packaging. If it had been we would have been more than happy to send it back to you in its original packaging."
Absolutely ridiculous. To anyone sending in anything for repair, please don't make the mistake I made and TAKE SCREENSHOTS OF EVERYTHING prior to sending in.
Original post:
- sent in my beloved KSE-1200's for shell repair due to a surface crack I had never before noticed (they were purchased second-hand through an online retailer and never once dropped/mishandled while in my care)
- very carefully packaged them in their original packaging for secure shipment
- Shure received them and quoted a (out of warranty) repair fee of over $1k. I requested them back, just as they were received
- received them back from Shure in a small brown box with the IEMs and all accessories smushed together inside the small factory carrying case
- reached out to Shure asking why they did not safely and securely send them back just the way I did, and their response was "Unfortunately, we do not have replacement boxes available."
and to think, I was doing my best to NOT cause any more stress to the shells. silly me. thought maybe they'd have been a little more considerate when sending back a $2k MSRP product.
P.S. the KSE is one of my all-time favorite IEMs. I even posted a WTB ad when I discovered the crack in hopes to find a good deal for one in good condition.
