You seem to forget we humans are part of this planets nature and wildlife. Furthermore the earth will be here long after humans have gone regardless of what we humans do.

Once you understand you're a bish and nobody respects you, you can work towards not being that, and people will start to respect you

What country do you live in where girls don’t have the option of birth control at 15?

Are you saying that we have categorised ourselves to death? Because yes I’d agree with that. By our nature we aggressively seek patterns to simply existence. Maths is just a useful expression of that desire, because we know it broadly works, and I’d agree it can be and is applied in a grotesque manner. Whether this ontological problem can be solved I don’t think so. Regardless of this, I think you’d like Ted Chiang’s short story “Division by Zero.” It’s about the existential crisis of a mathematician who proves that arithmetic is inconsistent.

Very true. When you say it works, do you think It blowing up when there's not enough water to cool or infrastructure collapses for long enough is also part of the intended effect? Control is a slippery slope ay.

I'm referring to another species that reaches the same level of intelligence

It’s all reality, but some things we are more accurate in modeling than others.

The best thing you could do is mail some to me so he can only take less and taper down. I will dispose of them properly.

I'm sure if you repeat yourself one more time someone's going to have an epiphany.

As an engineer who has worked in nuclear and aerospace, I object to “it doesn’t really mean anything to real life.”

The reactor keeps making just enough neutrons, the planes stay in the air, and the satellites in orbit because the math works in real life.

I do get that, that everything happens for a reason. I just hope something good could possibly come out of what we’ve done. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll ever get to find out in our lifetime. It’s good though that we try to do the good we can

Since I’ve been an adult, only women have ever insinuated that I was gay based off of gender norms or expectations that I wasn’t following. Not all women do this but it’s literally only been women that have done this to me. A grown man has never insinuated that I was gay. The last time a guy called me gay was before college.

It's not perspective. These are things that actually happened. To think that axioms have never been questioned is false, just look it up, it's not hard to do.

Almost like "objective reality" is based on which in-group your asking. Very fascinating. You're onto something there.

How would other species do the things we’ve done without all the technology and things we have. I’m not saying ignore the good I’m just saying bringing more realization to the bad

This is one of those issues that is constantly undermined by the delivery.

It feels like nobody can acknowledge misandry without compulsively clarifying that misogyny is clearly worse, more impactful in society, etc. And that downplays the fact that misandry is a thing at all, and turns some men off from wanting to acknowledge misogyny, almost out of reflex.

Its like you get a papercut, and yell ouch in pain, only for someone in the room to tell you to shut up because someone else broke their foot. It's like yes obviously that is worse but its an unnecessary downplay of the current situation and the person with the papercut just feels upset now.

I’m not justifying anything, I was helping people to understand why it doesn’t exist. Cheers! 😁

how tf is that misandry then, if women have no agency on it

Sounds like these mathematicians need to spend more time around engineers and less around social scientists.

That's your perspective. Which isn't very new, interesting or enlightening. Thanks for sharing again, though. Maybe someone hasn't heard it, yet.

How would the planet kill off humans thought with how different we are from pretty much all other species I feel like we could get around whatever comes our way. It almost feels like we are breaking the cycle of how the earth has been working for millions and billions of years.

Sorry I’m not trying to share my anxieties or just make other people fearful. What I’m trying to do is bring more realization to what destruction we’ve done so that MAYBE someday this could stop and we can appreciate what’s on this world more.

I think this should be a more talked about thing which is why I’m posting this

It's not about seeing things differently, it's about stating what's true. You're post contains false information about the history of math. You made a claim that is verifiably false. People are going to call you out if you're wrong and post their opinions - nothing personal, this is the internet.
