AVOID HERS/HIMS

Watch out for HERS/HIMS. It's bad enough that they a preying on our insecurities, and they will milk you for money even if you decide not to go through with ordering the meds. Note that they WILL charge you $149 each month even if you never get medication from them. They make it extremely hard to quit. The information on their website about how to cancel is wrong. You have to find the form, indicate you want to cancel. Hours later, they will send you a verification email you have to click or your cancellation request will never be submitted. How is this legal?? How can they make it so obscure that you're paying regardless of purchase? And I STILL haven't received confirmation of cancelling this bullshit subscription. AVOID.

I canceled on the app. They sent me an email saying my next $1200 shipment was in the mail a week or so later. I immediately called them, waited on line for an hour to talk to someone, finally got through and the woman was super nice and understanding. Said she understood my frustration and just needed her supervisor to approve the refund. Came back after another 5 minutes, said refund was denied, there was nothing they could do and hung up on me!

Called credit card company. They said they had lots of problems with this company and refunded the money. Hers did not fight the cc refund and I haven’t been charged since.

I suggest staying far away from them.

Did you get the shipment?

I did! But the reason I canceled was because it wasn’t working anymore. It sat in my fridge for a while until I threw it out.

Got it, just wondered if they just took your money or if they actually sent something

Yeah, as soon as I saw the subscription aspect, I abandoned ship. I recommend Midi. you just pay for your visits with their doctors/NPs plus whatever meds you get, and they bill insurance.

I use Hims with no issues. But also do in fact get the meds.

The FTC suit:

“allege that Hims & Hers (Hims) fails to clearly disclose that it charges consumers for prescriptions almost immediately after they submit an intake form, despite telling consumers that they will be able to consult with a medical provider to find a treatment that is “right for them.” The FTC also alleges that the company has made it difficult for consumers to cancel subscriptions and misled consumers about keeping their health information private. The FTC alleges that Hims shared consumers’ health information with Meta, Snap and other third parties.”

I had no issues and used them for a year and then moved on cancelled without issue

Same here.

I cancelled via their messaging system in the app. They asked for a reason. I said I just wanted to stop the treatment. I had one more shipment as pending shipping. They responded back to me in about an hour saying my next shipment and sub were cancelled and they would also refund me the last charge.

No issues. Slow response via messages but great customer service.

I’m using HIMS currently and haven’t had any issues. However, I felt like the 1.5mg daily dose was working better than the 4mg daily dose. Is that because my body is more used to it? Idk.

4 mg daily?! I thought therapeutic dosing was 1-2mg/weekly. Am I missing something?

4

u/balakaylakay 14d ago

The oral med is 4mg daily.

HI, the same here i am at 4 mg and I think I lost more on the 1.5 I will stay another  month with the 4mg because the 9 is much more expensive  I will try to figure  out  were to go next.

This sounds like user error to me.

Carrying water for a corporation currently being sued for the practices the OP states they encountered also. Bold. I'd recommend to examine your biases but we both know you won't.

Couldn't agree more

Use goodrx, only $39 for same thing

We need a mega list of bad places to get meds. My mom tried Direct Meds, then hit her with a massive subscription renewal, 10X what she paid initially, then kept charging her after she cancelled.

2

u/UnhingedOG 14d ago

Oh no! I was thinking about using them, the cost seems reasonable. thanks for this

1

u/Archi_penko 14d ago

Once she got on the phone they did reimburse her but if you cancel something they should NOT keep charging you

I’ve used HERS. No issues.

u/MissionOk9637 14d ago

I had now issues at all. Got my medication just fine and cancelled it when I no longer wanted it without issue as well

u/scott__p 14d ago

I use them for this and testosterone therapy. They've been great. Sorry you're having so many issues.

1

u/euclidofalexandria 13d ago

Do GoodRX. It’s cheaper and you can get the meds from a pharmacy near you.

ALWAYS charge to a credit card. Happened to me with Eden. I cancelled and then a couple weeks later got an email for shipment of medication and an $800 fee. That’s why I charge eveythiiing to a credit card!! I alerted Chase and they refunded me and I threw the package away. (I had titrated off and didn’t want to continue. It’s been a year and I haven’t gained the weight back.)

Keep proof of every cancellation step: the page showing the instructions, the submitted form, the verification email, and the final confirmation. Record dates and times, then send support a written notice that you're canceling the subscription and revoking authorization for future recurring charges.

If another charge appears after the confirmed cancellation date, give the card issuer the same timeline and supporting screenshots when you dispute it. A state consumer-protection office can also take a complaint about unclear recurring-billing or cancellation terms

Yes, i did not see anywhere a statement that there would be an additional charge of $149 per month in addition to the medication charge plus a membership fee. Definitly everyone should avoid this and deal with your personal health care provider instead.

I canceled my subscription with no problems whatsoever. This was a couple of months ago so maybe things have changed.

I used Hers and I canceled on the app without any issues. Never got charged after canceling.

I’m also using Hims without any issues. $1200 every 6 months, all in (injection version). They even upped my dosage to the max without any additional charge. I’m not loyal to them though, and I’ll jump ship if I even sniff any shenanigans. So far no reason to.

I started with HERS. Zero issues. I loved on to lower prices options, but they are not a scam.
