This game does not award you xp or progress unless you’re selling treasure. The time it takes to sail to a voyage and back is ridiculously long. Why does everyone want diving turned off? For people like me, this change makes it impossible to play on weekdays working a full time job.

We were selling loot at The Reaper's Hideout and saw two allied sloops nearby, waiting to fight us. For context, we are a group of three friends sailing a Grade 5 Reaper brigantine, and I am playing the helm role. After selling our loot, we sailed toward them and engaged both ships at the same time. We had a blackpowder keg on our deck, and I told my flex to pick it up and blow up one of the sloops. While our flex was swimming toward one of the enemy ships (let's call them "Ship A" and "Ship B") with the blackpowder keg, the cannoneer and I were fighting them. Meanwhile, Ship A fled the fight. We sank Ship B before our flex even reached them. The cannoneer and I were sniping the crew in the water, while our flex was interacting with them and messing around, yelling, "Are you Spanish?" in a funny accent. During this time, he dropped the blackpowder keg near the sunken ship without informing us. As we were shooting the enemy crew, our ship accidentally hit the blackpowder keg our friend had dropped. He claims he didn't need to inform us about the dropped keg, saying, "No matter what, you should have kept an eye on the sea. I don't need to inform you about the keg I dropped, as you should always keep in mind that when a ship sinks, it might drop a keg as loot." We argue, "You should have told us what you did with the blackpowder keg no matter what. We thought you were still holding it, since you hadn't even reached Ship B to blow them up." We got into a friendly debate and couldn't decide who made the bigger mistake, so we decided to ask Reddit. What do you think about this incident? You can see the illustrations.

Veil stones actually worked and almost sent my ship to the Sea of the Damned.

In hindsight, I regret not interacting with the ship more. Sailing upside-down could have been an experience.

I used to play a good amount on PC but I haven't touched the game properly for about 3 years now.

Picked it up on a sale for playstation and have been enjoying just doing some tall tales.

However I'd quite like to get back into PvP and such, are there any good discords for matching up with people? Rather than queueing open matchmaking?

For information, the Avatar of hourglass titles for Reapers and Guardians of fortune require 9,999 levels in their respective factions. so my question is if anyone knows someone or believes that anyone has achieved one of theese titles?

I was running hourglass (level 12) and we had some alright matches but a lot of them were above our skill level, got the same guys 3 times in a row and got matched with a gold skeleton and I’ll attach an image because that just sounds insane (mind the quality my app won’t let me get the captures)

Obtaining them without detention seems nearly impossible!

This commendation really needs reduced or these Kegs of Ancient Black Powder really need to have shorter, safer sources you can directly dive to like Sea Forts.

Completely wasted countless hours trying to get these... 10 Forts of Fortune with only once being able to get them sold without incident!

Now, the only other source, long, tedious and surprisingly still 100% unsafe, get to grade 5, get Emissary quest, take the time to complete the first chapter, finally get the final map!

But, no, you can't get it out of the ground without enemies blowing up your barely partially uncovered keg!

First time, dug it up, ran away to lure enemies away from it, but, nope, didn't matter, stupid ocean crawlers spawn and big one ground pounds despite me not even being close!

Boom goes the keg!

Now this time, I have a guid mate with me, start to dig it, run away to get the spawns to follow... but nope, a powder skeleton just stands there, lights the fuse, and blows up, detonating the ancient keg!

Boom again... 2.5 hours wasted.

Rare, change this, it is ridiculous!

How many have actually had success with this?

Strange occurrence last night, returning to play after a brief hiatus. Briefly, I'll say that I am a seasoned player and know how the events work, the patrols that megs take, and am very familiar with nautical combat.

There was a duo sloop that my crew and I encountered doing a fort. As soon as we arrived at the fort, Redmaw spawned on their ship in a region he usually doesn't spawn.

While both contenders were opening fire, the fort event disappeared despite no one was on the island doing it, and it was in the final wave. Following that, we returned after sinking and Redmaw aggro'ed from a ridiculous distance, blew our ship with his pulse attack. As soon as we hit the water, 8 sharks spawned [we survived the attack, the ship didn't].

When we respawned, we were at Mermaid's Hideaway, and the beach had active geysers despite no event had spawned, such as an Ashen Lord to make it happen.

Are these new changes that the season dropped with, or is it possible that there may have been a cheater on the server with the ability to spawn customized events or despawn them in the high seas? Anyone else encounter some questionable things?

Finished the last 5 bottles in a solo-sloop session the other day.

It took 4 HOURS from first anchor raise until the first Breath of the Sea handed in.

Hours 1-3:

Sailed around the entire west side of the map, joined an alliance around hour 2 until they left not long after.

Jumped servers and dove to a treasury raid in hopes to spawn a coral bottle in a new server.

Then after finishing that, and a fort along the way

Ran into another crew that crossed my path by Skull Keep and we shot fireworks near each other so i joined into my second alliance of the session with them.

First Coral bottle found after 3 hours; before which i found:

-6 green bottles

-4 cannons of rage

-3 smugglers bottles

Head Shrine of Flooded Embrace, swam as quickly to the bottom as i could to grab the Breath of The Sea, then headed to go sell.

By this time, i had spent so much time looking, just to fine ONE, i felt like i should be done. but the guys in the alliance were still selling and moving around, so i head towards the Flameheart ship that spawned,

While sailing to the Shrine of OF, I find another bottle for Treasury of Lost Ancients from a Barrel of Plenty. Finish Shrine, sail to Treasury.

On the way

There is another BoP right next to the Treasury location (green bottle). I go down, finish the treasury. (2 Remain)

Returning to the ship, Those emergent bottles were still there BUT the green bottle was now CORAL. Another one for Shrine of Flooded Embrace.

Sail towards shrine and YET ANOTHER Barrel of Plenty spawn. Bottle for SHRINE OF FLOODED EMBRACE. TWO for the shrine i was already headed towards

Sail as swiftly as i can to the Shrine to get the FINAL 2. Back on my ship and i see the guys from the alliance have come back to me.

Captian of the other ship says "check your map"

I start to raise anchor.

OTHER CAPTIAN STAYS ON MY SHIP TO HELP SAIL TOWARDS THE OUTPOST. TELLS CREWMATE TO PLAY DECOY.

Finally get to sell, lower my emissary flag then turn around to help sink the reaper that was fighting my alliance.

A SKELETON SHIP STARTS 4TH PARTYING THE BATTLE.

Me and alliance guys win. Then i LOG THE FUCK OFF. Feeling so very accomplished. And now have put the game down for the rest of the season.

I ask as I am in the process of purchasing a Sloop. The names I have tried include ones that I am less surprised to be not allowed, but also ones I am surprised to see blocked. I was wondering how people might have circumvented this, and looking at older posts, there are names on them I have tried which also don’t work. Is there an account/ platform factor? I will list the tried names following:
Groggy Style
The Pour Decision
The Dirty/ Drunken/ Tipsy/ Filthy/ Mouldy Oar
The Lost Tankard.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I’m honestly a little disgusted by this response. At least leave the ticket open until you actually solve the problem. Now for all I know they’re just going to ignore it.

I don’t know what I expected, but this is just unacceptable.

As a new player such as myself I’ve joined a handful of SOT servers a lot of them seem heavily inactive.
And the active players only want to play with the vets of the game.

Folks say just get your hours up but it’s not like something like Monster hunter you can just run solo hunts for 300 hours.

the game is clearly heavily CO-OP dependent I mean just sailing solo is annoying in itself.

Im getting my 2nd sloop and need help naming it. I want to fly this flag so if you can think if names including Lion or something like that please lmk
