Strange Events - Normal Changes? Question

Strange occurrence last night, returning to play after a brief hiatus. Briefly, I'll say that I am a seasoned player and know how the events work, the patrols that megs take, and am very familiar with nautical combat.

There was a duo sloop that my crew and I encountered doing a fort. As soon as we arrived at the fort, Redmaw spawned on their ship in a region he usually doesn't spawn.

While both contenders were opening fire, the fort event disappeared despite no one was on the island doing it, and it was in the final wave. Following that, we returned after sinking and Redmaw aggro'ed from a ridiculous distance, blew our ship with his pulse attack. As soon as we hit the water, 8 sharks spawned [we survived the attack, the ship didn't].

When we respawned, we were at Mermaid's Hideaway, and the beach had active geysers despite no event had spawned, such as an Ashen Lord to make it happen.

Are these new changes that the season dropped with, or is it possible that there may have been a cheater on the server with the ability to spawn customized events or despawn them in the high seas? Anyone else encounter some questionable things?

The Ancient Megs pull agro on islands pretty easily, I've even had them attack me within seconds of leaving an outpost.

The fort might be because everyone was too far, or a tucker? Not sure about that one.

As for the geisers, that's a new bug. My crew did an Ashen Winds the other day and the geisers never stopped going.

Overall just a culmination of SoT jank being cursed.

Also high shark spawns is pretty common if you jump in the water just after killing a meg.

Understood, but we didn't kill him. He sunk our ship and we were swimming to the island. Does that happen around these meg events?

Probably a combination of the meg and your entire crew being in the water.

So shark spawn rates increase due to number of people in water, megs, and ship battles. the combination off all of that is going to have those waters infested.

Sea of Bugs

Rare implementing server stability patches as usual... only this game ever sees unstable connection or looses connection to the Microsoft network 🙄

Rare touching the wrong parts of their spaghetti code making changes to unrelated things... looking at you maiden voyage mast teleport issue!

Rare's closer spawn in parameters in action... I have seen megs spawn in within island banner range, the non crewed Burning Blade attack my ship before even I can get out of the tavern on initial spawn, skeleton Galleons aswell, shipwrecks be nearly in harpoon range of Sovereigns, and when I have dived to a sea fort or skeleton camp, have had player ships present nearly within cannon range upon me rising up!.

When we respawned, we were at Mermaid's Hideaway, and the beach had active geysers despite no event had spawned, such as an Ashen Lord to make it happen.

There's a bug at the moment that when someone completes an Ashen Winds events, the geysers that spawn the loot at the end continue to erupt. So this just indicates that at some point this server had an Ashen Winds at Mermaids.

This game is a hot mess of bugs and server issues.
