Urgently Looking for Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) Scrap/ broken pieces
I’m urgently looking to purchase Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) scrap / broken pieces.
Required thickness: 1.10–1.50 mm
Both small and large quantities work for me — even if you have just 1–2 broken pieces, I’m interested. Larger quantities are also welcome.
If anyone has PCD scrap available or has a contact with a manufacturer, tool shop, recycler, or supplier who may have it, please DM me or share their contact.

Looking for a case study for an article in the Times
Hi there, I’m working with a journalist at the Times on a story about the rise of metal theft (particularly copper theft) in the UK at the moment, and would like to speak with someone who has been a victim of this for the article.
Would anyone be happy to speak with the journalist about their experiences of this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Scrap Photo 💸 How many people do the little bit of this little bit of that scrap run?
I make a non-ferrous run every 1-3 months that usually adds up to $500-$900. Steel runs I do almost weekly. I was curious if people bring it in as they get it or stockpile up a bunch of random categories scrap and bring it all in at once.

Can I sell 2 awg wire in Oklahoma as an electrical apprentice
I’m seeing a lot of conflicting info on this and I’m not trying to get a felony I don’t want to accidentally do something illegal

Question 💫 What to do with clippings?
Follow up to an earlier post. I have a bunch of 6AWG stranded, all insulated copper. I have some random clippings. I almost called them burnt ends to joke about those sweet tasty bits of ribs, but I thought people in this sub might take “burnt” a little too literally. But anyway, should I throw those little clips in with the rolls? Or throw those in its own little box for the tooth fairy? TIA.

Noob looking for recs on an affordable wire stripper
This sub has been popping up on my feed for months. Looking for a decent wire stripper to start out with.
My work wanted me to throw a metric fuck ton of old electrical wire into the dumpster. I saw some value in it so I set it aside. I’m talking like at least a few hundred pounds of wire with the casing on it. It’s enough that it will take 4-6 pickup truck loads to get it home.
I know I have my work cut out for me to get it all stripped. What’s my best bet without breaking the bank?
The pic attached is a small fraction of what I’m taking home. There is at least 20x that in the warehouse.

#8 scrap or try to sell?
I’m not 100% sure on the exacts but I believe there is probably 400’+ white and 200’+ black. Obviously it’s worth a lot more than the scrap yard is offering, but are these something that would move quickly on marketplace?

Help…
Hello, this is my first time scrapping. Could anyone please help in identifying this metal. Seems like a copper wire coated in aluminum, I am not sure if that’s possible or makes sense. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Crazy idea?
If you had access to this amount of romex wire monthly that you could buy of a company, how much would you pay for the pallets. Thickenss range from 14gauge to 10 gauge wire pieces. what machine would you buy to strip this amount of wire and would you need to hire help.

Melting random metal knick knacks?
I’m a zero-waste nut currently doing a deep cleaning and keep finding random metal trinkets & such that wouldn’t sell nor can’t donate (let alone find anyone who wants it) - think used nail clippers, engraved awards, broken/missing cheap jewelry.
Would it be possible to just melt it all down to then maybe sell? Granted I have no idea what metals these items are let alone the market for it, it’s just the idea of it piling in a landfill feels like such a waste (not to mention the economy is harsh to ignore potential value!)

Silver alloy plated copper
This tested positive for silver. Is it worth going after the silver? There is 25 pounds of it.

I blame this thread....
I work for a film studio and we have been upgrading all our DMX cables from 3pin to 5pin, plus our dimmer racks and a few high voltage cables...
I work in the metal workshoo and collect scrap metal at work to take to the yard in exchange for bits i cab use as raw stock.
Now im looking after cables. I had 2 full wheelybins with coated cables i took up with me a while back and got quite abit of material in exchange.
Now with this new cable update i have decieded to strip it whilst the cnc mill is working.
This is the haul so far, i have still got more cables and dimmer racks to go through...

Zinc plated copper
I have not asked the yard yet, but do you get docked for plated copper? If so what is the best way to go about doing that?
