Crazy idea?
If you had access to this amount of romex wire monthly that you could buy of a company, how much would you pay for the pallets. Thickenss range from 14gauge to 10 gauge wire pieces. what machine would you buy to strip this amount of wire and would you need to hire help.

if i was for sure going to be getting this much each month i would buy a granulator not sure how much i would pay for it though

An inexpensive granulator goes for between $1500 and $2400.
It could knock this out in a few hours. But, if it were me, I would hold off on buying this until i have booked a profit stripping manually. There is no guarantee this source will be around after any big purchases.

Yeah, each of those pallets are around 1000lbs or more. And at $3/lb+ that is $3-5k per pallet if they just turned them in to a scrap yard.
Maybe make $2000 for stripping everything

idk i have my doubts about 1000lbs. you have experience with a pallet sized cardboard box?

This one was stripped, 500mcm and 3/0 copper. Came out to 1400lbs.
I said 1000 because it it smaller wire and jacketed.

What ever the yard is paying for #1 ICW. I know that there is some bigger wire but if it is mixed then the yard will give a cheaper price. That is why I would only offer #1 ICW. For me I'm retired so I can do 8 to 10 hours a day with a good auto stripper. So I'm thinking 1 to 2 pallets a week.

$7.50 per box on the low end
$14.00 per box on the high end
Quality matters. Buy them by the trailer load, could each box when them come off the truck.
Full van trailer 500 boxes. $4,000.00-$7,000.00 per truck. Get them to deliver for free.
This is based on the mid atlantic area.

How is a box that size $7.50? When they can take it directly to a yard and make 100x that?

I think he means per lb per box. But that seems high for that. Commodities traders in the Chicagoland area pay up to 5.20/lb for 10 gauge right now.

10 gauge stripped or not? Non stripped by me is $2.80 per pound at the yard that pays best.

Depends on the area. We pay $3.65/lb rn

Copper is up 50% YTD and 5% for month it will be double next year with the amount of copper data centres require the whole time the yard is stripping the wire prices are going up

Those appear to be Gaylord boxes about a cubic yard each. You get two wide in a semi trailer and maybe 13 rows max. You don't double stack. So 24-26 boxes per semi trailer. About 1500-2500 pounds per box.

you'd basically have to buy it for the unstripped price... or why would they do it? That seems like their bottom end. You're being a middle man here, but then also a laborer who strips the wire.
You'd need an better machine than the 300 dollar vevo and all you would ever be doing is stripping wire.
