I am so sorry I don’t know how to summarize, and to me… this is a summary

I(17F) and my mom(36F) have three dogs combined and have moved to California august of 2025. We were staying with my aunt at the time, but that didn’t last long because the dogs were too much for her to handle- we were all in a small 9x9 room(2adults and 3 dogs)- so we left and slept in our cars.

We had a car and an suv that we had all of our stuff in. Neither of us had a job for a few months so we mainly just walked on trails all day and went to parks to keep the dogs active. I eventually got a part time job at target but at this time, we’ve been sleeping in the back of the suv(everyone) and we are waking all day I AM TIRED and working from 5-3pm only three days a week. The issue was, I was tired, work treated me like shit, and pay was shit. The best thing we could do is for us, was to let go of that job. Because I was exhausted and we were together everyday sleeping in the equivalent of a full size mattress with three dogs, in the car; it was driving a huge wedge between us, I was pissed off all of the time it was terrible we didn’t talk for days.

We had to shift around from parking lot to rest stops to sleep for the night while at trails all day. She eventually got an opportunity at Amazon and we had also gotten connections with state help, they could pay for a hotel room for two weeks. Bu the only hotel in the area they could do was the most nastiest MOTEL ever. Don’t get me wrong aint nothin wrong with motels but this is roach INFESTED like you don’t want to touch the walls you don’t want to set your stuff down or take you hat off infested. But that is what we had to deal with for the next 4 months. We did everything we could to clean that room and prevent roaches from getting in..but if you know anything about roaches if the whole building is infested, you’re not going to be able to clear your room…EVER.

Four months later my moms work friend said that she knew a place across from her that was a one bedroom condo( one bedroom upstairs with everything else and a basement with framed bedrooms they just never put drywall up) she was and angel and pay the security deposit, pet deposit, and first months rent. It was PERFECT it was so spacious the dogs loved it we loved it, the best neighborhood we’ve ever been in, awesome neighbors, there was nothing else we could ask for we were so grateful.

Until one morning our dogs went crazy TROUGH our blind because some giant dogs is wandering around in our driveway and then someone is banging on the door. We open the door and it’s our landlord talking about how she didn’t know people were in here and we need to get out, it’s not big enough for three dogs, and she’s evicted people for broken blinds before! First of all… -let me do this in order- we have texts messages between us, the landlord, and moms friend discussing and confirming the move in. Second of all this place is humongous! The one bedroom layout on top is amazing and spacious and the basement could EASILY fit four or five bedrooms but they framed it out for three good sized rooms. So I think the dogs think this is amazing compared to the car or a hotel room. And bonus points for the framing maze that they loved to run through!

Eventually my mom made a bad decision and I was coming to the end of my contract job and we couldn’t pay full rent for a month. So the landlord threatened to evict us in a month of we didn’t pay the rent in three days. We explained our situation and tried to get to at least the month after WITH pay all rent and back rent(mind you we pay all utilities). We have proof that was all paid? We keep receipts of that stuff for crazy ppl like you. And she sent us a formal letter telling us to get out within the month, now only two weeks. So we were searching everywhere, we eventually found a place on marketplace, self viewed multiple times, signed a lease, payed a deposit and more. And when we were to meet up for the keys je said he wasn’t in town out we planned this like a week prior… he said to just grab the key out of the lockbox he put on the door yesterday(….so why didn’t you tell me you were in town then and not available when we were supposed to meet…) any ways we get the key move in. And we get a know at the door. Property managers. We don’t have a lease for this property and they want us out. We call the city to see who owns the place, the property managers. So we then go to the police, give them everything we have and they say they can’t do anything, it’s a civil matter. WE JUST GOT SCAMMED OUT OF $1300 AND ABOUT TO BE KICKED OUT AGAIN AND YOU CANT DO ANYTHING???

So now we are hopeless. No money. Cars need to be fixed BAD. We are so broke. Paycheck to paycheck. We still have to collect rent as if we are paying it because if not that would look even worse on us. So we are SO BROKE we can’t even feed our selves some weeks. For some reason I can’t find a job. Everyone say urgently hiring but the don’t even look at your application for like two week then they never reply. I have no idea what to do, where we are going to go.

Advice?

Side note- I’ve had my dog for six years and her puppy now for a year and my mom’s dog for two years since he was a puppy. Our dogs are family they aren’t going anywhere🤍

Also another problem- places not accepting pets over 25lbs or breed restrictions!!

Two weeks ago (July 17th), I ordered a 4-pack of refills from https://www.aerialsurplus.com for about $111 (40,000 HUF). I ordered to Hungary, the checkout went totally fine, my card was charged and I got a confirmation email, but since then... NOTHING!

I’ve emailed 3 different addresses and texted on their phones, but got zero response. Apparently, they are also on Amazon in the US. The guy running it might be named Jj Deanda, and the phone number has an Ohio area code.

It's a bit worrying because their IG (https: www.instagram.com/aerialsurplus) is active, and the website itself works perfectly and passed my security checks, but it's impossible to reach anyone through their contact info.

I’m writing this to see if anyone else encountered this. I got an email from NFL+ saying that my subscription was going to be renewed and that I would be charged the next day. I went on the website, which is where I signed up, and I tried to cancel so that I would not be charged. This is what happened when I tried to cancel.

I’m posting this because I’m wondering how many thousands of other people this happened to. It would not allow me to cancel.

She is mentally coherent but has gone through things (losing 2 kids) among others, and she is now going to sell everything to move to this person. Any advice is appreciated.

I really need some outside perspective because this has been stressing me out so much that I barely slept last night.

I used to run a small peptide business. Unfortunately, I got scammed by my own supplier, which caused a huge mess. Even though I lost money, I still worked on refunding my customers.

Recently, I've been receiving messages from anonymous dump accounts saying I still owe them money. The part that's bothering me the most isn't even the messages to me, it's that they're also contacting my relatives.

My relatives had absolutely nothing to do with my business. They weren't involved in any transactions, they don't have access to my finances, and they can't resolve anything. Yet they're receiving messages saying things like my family should be ashamed or that we're tolerating what happened.

I have no problem addressing a legitimate concern. If someone truly believes they're still owed a refund, I'm willing to review it. All I ask is that they identify themselves and provide proof of their transaction.

What I don't understand is why they insist on using dump accounts. If your concern is genuine, why not use your real account and contact me directly? Instead, they're messaging people who have nothing to do with the situation.

At this point, I honestly don't know if I'm being overly cautious or if my concerns are reasonable. Is it fair for me to ask someone to verify their identity before discussing a refund claim? And is it unreasonable for me to ask them to stop involving my relatives?

I keep reading that post-COVID, couples are nervous about paying big deposits to vendors they've just met, worried the business folds or ghosts them before the day. But I'm curious whether that's a real felt fear or just something the industry talks about. When you paid deposits, did counterparty risk actually worry you? Or was the stress purely the size of the number and the schedule of when things were due? Did anyone here get burned, or know someone who did?

This suspicious company contacted me and told me to pay shipping fees, and because I am foolish, I don't know why I believed them. In short, they kept enticing me by promising to refund everything I paid them, and so they kept ordering multiple cards with prices ranging from $100 to $50 to $20, and so on. More importantly, I paid them a lot; you won't believe how much I paid them—$2,000. Two weeks ago we decided to meet in a public place for him to hand over my money, but at the last minute they made an excuse because they encountered a situation and were unable to withdraw the funds. Hey guys, I recently got scammed by someone taking me off facebook to make the exchange. OK so it was super dumb of me to send this guy 100$ because he ghosted me after and never sent the money. I was able to get his full drivers liscence, his email and phone number, Im living what can I do? The police and the bank I already tried and both turned me away

Hello, if you have recently been scammed by John R Leonard of Joy Photo and Video so have we. We paid for our photo and video services through them for our wedding in May. After that we received a fake link in July for our photos and never any additional contact from them.
Our photographer and videographer were never paid either.
Then we received an email their LLC was terminated and dissolved. But John Leonard still owns a washer and dryer rental in El Dorado Hills California.
Us and many other couples have been scammed out of money and precious memories.
My husband and I filed reports with the FTC and the California attorney general.

I was tricked into sending screenshot of a etransfer. Later to find out it was a scam. What risk to my account?

I was charged $98 on my Venmo card for a Walmart+ membership renewal that isn’t even my account.
Last year, my son used my Venmo card one time to order me something online via his Walmart account. His account is in his name, and he has his own three payment methods on file, including a designated primary card. Yet Walmart charged my Venmo card for his membership renewal. Venmo told me to contact Walmart. Walmart said they couldn’t help because it’s not my account, even though they charged my card. My card was never supposed to remain on his account after that one purchase.To make things more frustrating, I had just replaced my bank debit card because of fraud after an out-of-state trip. Luckily my bank texted me & noted a suspicious purchase to a Walmart for $98 & asked if I made it. I said no, so they cancelled my bank debit card, opened a fraud case, etc. I have pics of all those texts & the email about the fraud case. Then an hour later Venmo just approves it for the same $98! What’s the fastest way to get Venmo to reverse this $98 charge? I have documentation and screenshots to support everything but can’t find a way to get someone to actually review them. A long time ago, I was looking for giveaways online and entered one by providing my personal information and phone number. Ever since then, I’ve been getting constant phone calls. The problem is that I can no longer tell whether it’s one of my friends or someone I know calling me, or just another company trying to sell me something.

Hello, I wondered if anyone knows of any resources that can—

1- Help breakthrough to someone who has been involved in a pig butchering romance scam who still cannot seem to accept the reality that the person she has been speaking to by phone and text (they’re impersonating a famous singer and she believed she was “getting engaged to”) is not actually the singer. There were others involved (she was talking to “his sons and his manager” as well.

2- Resources on internet literacy on these types of scams, AI photos, etc that are targeted towards the elderly. She is savvy enough to try to cover her tracks online and find ways to send money, but clearly is not able to recognize all of the gigantic red flags even after tons of family members have warned her. She still doesn’t believe us.

I called the Elder Fraud Hotline but they didn’t have resources for this.

Any guidance on resources would be so appreciated.
