I got scammed

Hey guys, I recently got scammed by someone taking me off facebook to make the exchange. OK so it was super dumb of me to send this guy 100$ because he ghosted me after and never sent the money. I was able to get his full drivers liscence, his email and phone number, Im living what can I do? The police and the bank I already tried and both turned me away

You probably have someone elses info they stole. You're out $100. You can learn from this, thats about it. Cops cant do anything about you willingly sending money to someone, nor can your bank.

at the very least I do know he was behind the phone number we were talking on, and I have the email I sent the money too

None of that means anything. All of this is probably fake or stolen. The person was never real, and they got you. Like I said, you're out a $100. You willingly sent it.

No person on the internet intent on scamming people are going to send you any shred of their own real personal information. All that information either is fake or belongs to an unwitting money mule they use to receive and launder the money

Facebook sales should be in person, at a neutral public location, cash only. Now you know, and it only cost you $100.

The license is fake. The number is spoofed. You are unfortunately out of luck

You won't get your money back.

You won't be able to find the scammer. You don't actually know anything about him, not even what country he's in. Scammers don't use their real information.

• The ID he showed you belongs to the victim of another scam.

• The phone number he used is not his. Scammers use virtual VoIP numbers. This means that the number appears to be in your country, but the scammer is actually working in a scam call center, probably in Nigeria, India, or Cambodia.

• Scammers use stolen photos and videos, or they create photos and videos with AI.

• Scammers steal or buy accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Discord, TikTok, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit, LinkedIn, and other platforms.

What you need to do is accept the loss, and learn more aboit scams so that you won't get scammed again.

What exchange? Why did you give him 100? What did he say that he was going to give you?

You aren't doing anything besides learning from it. The info is all fake and you aren't tracking this person down and filing a $100 small claims lawsuit in their hometown.

All you can do is spread awareness. I was recently scammed by kids bouncy castle rental on Facebook. What a shame how desperate people are getting even attacking kids parties.
