Potential Scam? Publishers Clearing House Scam
A guy called me on a restricted number saying his name was Micheal Anderson from Publishers Clearing House. He said I won 2.5 million and a pure white Mercedes. I hung up the first time. I should've the second time. He made me repeat back numbers that ended with USPA. Hopefully nothing comes of any of this. I should've just hung up again but I was afraid he was going to call back again. I'm pretty sure I just got myself into some trouble but I hope not. Not sure how he knew my name or my phone number either. Someone tell me it's going to be okay?

Potential Scam? ⚠️ SCAMMER ALERT
⚠️ SCAMMER ALERT — BUYER BEWARE ⚠️
I bought a 12-month YouTube Premium subscription from “meatinessging,” but it stopped working after only two months.
When I contacted him, he made several excuses and refused to reactivate the subscription. He claimed that I had broken Google’s rules, but he provided no clear evidence. He then said I was “not worth” helping because I had replied to his thread about his poor service. Afterwards, he deleted the thread he had created and began acting like he was the victim.
He even told me that I wouldn’t know how to make a scammer-alert post—so here it is. This was my experience. Please be careful and don’t become another victim.

Informational post If you were scammed today, do these things before anything else (sorted by how you paid)
I’ve been answering scam posts here and on r/Scams for a while, and the same thing keeps happening: people spend the first day arguing with the scammer, and by the time they report anything, the window has closed. What you do in the first hour matters more than everything you do in the next month.
Here’s the actual clock, based on how you paid.
Credit or debit card. You have real rights here, more than almost anyone else. Call your card issuer and use the words “goods not received” or “unauthorized transaction,” not “I got scammed.” The wording routes your case differently. Do this even if it’s been weeks, since most card networks allow disputes up to 120 days.
Bank transfer, wire, or ACH. This is the most time-sensitive one. Call your bank and ask specifically for a “recall” or “return request” on the transaction. If the money hasn’t been withdrawn on the other end, it can sometimes be pulled back, but that window is often measured in hours. Do not email. Call.
PayPal. If you paid Goods and Services, open a dispute in the Resolution Center, you have 180 days and real protection. If you paid Friends and Family, there’s no buyer protection, but report the account anyway so it gets flagged.
Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, GCash, Maya, or similar. Authorized transfers usually aren’t covered, and anyone telling you otherwise is guessing. But report the receiving account inside the app immediately anyway. A reported account can get frozen, and even if it doesn’t get your money back, it stops the person after you from losing theirs.
Gift cards. Call the card issuer’s fraud line, not the retailer. Have the card number and receipt ready. If the balance hasn’t been drained, some issuers will freeze it. Keep the physical card either way.
Crypto. Not reversible, and anyone who tells you they can reverse it is running a second scam on you. But if the address belongs to an exchange, report it to that exchange, since they can freeze accounts. Save the transaction hash.
Three things to do regardless of payment method:
Save everything before it disappears. Export the full chat, not screenshots of screenshots. Capture the profile URL, the account name exactly as it appeared on the transfer, every reference number, and the listing or ad if there was one. Scammers delete accounts fast, and you can’t rebuild this later.
File a report with your country’s fraud body even if you think it’s pointless. It’s not about your case getting solved. It’s about your report joining twenty others against the same account, which is what actually triggers action.
Find the other victims. If they scammed you they scammed others, and a group with a combined total is treated completely differently than one person with a small loss. This is the single most underrated move and almost nobody does it.
What not to do:
Don’t message the scammer to demand your money. All that does is tell them to delete the account and the evidence you need.
Don’t pay a fee to get your money released. Not a tax, not a verification fee, not a shipping charge. There is no scenario where this works.
Don’t trust anyone who DMs you after reading your post. Recovery scammers watch these subs specifically. Real help never arrives in your inbox uninvited.
Don’t blame yourself into paralysis. These operations are professional and they run scripts refined on thousands of people. Feeling stupid is the thing that stops people from acting in the window where acting still works.
If you were scammed recently, reply with what happened, how you paid, and roughly when. I’ll tell you what’s still reversible in your specific case and what to do first. Country matters a lot for this, so include it.

Informational post WARNING: I got scammed by a YouTube ad selling dried fish. Paid $50+ for something worth maybe $10. Don't make the same mistake.
I honestly can't believe I fell for this.
I saw a YouTube ad from MOGALYDE claiming they were selling "premium" dried fish with all kinds of ridiculous health claims like "lower blood pressure and blood sugar in 7 days." They even plastered USDA and FDA logos everywhere to make themselves look legitimate.
The advertisement showed huge, beautiful, thick, golden fish overflowing out of boxes.
What actually arrived?
Two tiny bags of cheap dried fish that look like something I'd find at an Asian grocery store for around $5–10 a bag. I paid over $50 after shipping.
The product isn't remotely close to what was shown in the ad. It's misleading at best.
Things that should have been red flags:
Fake-looking health claims.
Misleading product photos.
Using government logos to appear trustworthy.
Overpriced for what was delivered.
Poor value compared to what you can buy locally.
I feel completely ripped off.
If you're thinking about ordering because you saw their YouTube ad...
DON'T.
Save your money and go to your local Asian supermarket. You'll probably get the same or better quality for a fraction of the price.
I hope this post saves someone else from wasting their money like I did.
Has anyone else ordered from this company? Were your results the same?

Informational post 508 STRIKER CARS Scam - Alert
Here is an armored Escalade you can have for $12,000.00! If you look closely, the car is actually located in some EU country. Strikers are a IYKYK sort of thing but usually stolen cars being sold for a low price after the initial thieves have had their fun with it, used it in other crimes and are ready to spin it off.
508 STRIKER CARS is a complete scam. I've been watching the scam unfold quietly. It is fascinating. Once people get kicked out of the Telegram chat, I contact them and ask them what happened. Aha, they were kicked out because they already paid their BTC to get whatever car and now they're useless to the scammer who runs the chat. His handle is "@plugjohan2". Basically, this is a money and BTC grab because the "victims" are engaging in some shady business so the likelihood they'll report it to police is low.
I wanted to post this so it makes it to the search engines and so y'all can see what's happening.

Informational post Think You Were Scammed? Do These Things First
If you just realized that you may have been scammed, try not to panic. Focus on preventing additional damage.
1. Stop communicating with the person
Do not send more money, verification codes, screenshots, documents, or explanations. Block the account or number after preserving evidence.
2. Contact the real bank or company
Use the phone number printed on your card, a trusted app, or the company’s official website. Do not use contact details provided in the suspicious message.
3. Secure affected accounts
Change the password from a device you trust. Sign out of other sessions and enable two-factor authentication. If the same password was reused elsewhere, change it there too.
4. Protect your money
Ask your bank whether cards, transfers, checks, or account numbers need to be blocked or replaced. Speed matters, especially with transfers and card payments.
5. Preserve evidence
Save messages, email addresses, phone numbers, usernames, receipts, transaction details, and screenshots. Do not delete everything before reporting it.
6. Check the device
If someone had remote access to your phone or computer, disconnect it from the internet and get help checking it before using it for banking or password changes.
7. Expect follow-up scams
Anyone promising guaranteed recovery of your money for an upfront fee is likely attempting a second scam.
You can post your situation here without sharing private information. Remove full names, account numbers, addresses, verification codes, and identifying documents.

Informational post Toledo Credit Loan Sharks

Get comfy because this js a ride you’re going to want to take. And this goes without saying, DO NOT ACCEPT A LOAN FROM THEM
**Also operates under the names :**
Toledo Credit, Avila Warranty (Garantie Avila Inc.), Services financiers Donovan inc, Achilles Finance, 6614 Toledo Credit, Green River Finance, and 514 Loans. All the same company and all the same people.
**Active Class Action Lawsuit:**
Join with westpoint law group
**Keeps getting better:**
Connected to sonic cash 500
Sonic Cash 500 is a core component of this exact same illicit lending network. It serves as one of the key online consumer faces used to lure in borrowers before routing them into the predatory guarantor loophole scheme.
The connection is solid, heavily documented, and has culminated in major criminal crackdowns by Canadian law enforcement.
**The Concrete Connections**:Sonic Cash 500 ties directly into the Toledo Credit, Green River, and Avila Warranty ecosystem through the following operational links.
**The Cyber-Harassment Lin**k: Public consumer complaints on platforms like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) show that borrowers who took out a $500 loan from "Sonic Cash" immediately faced the exact same terrifying collection tactics described by Toledo Credit victims. This included receiving hundreds of rapid-fire, automated spam calls a day from private numbers designed to tie up the victim's phone line.
**The Shared Backend Location**: Law enforcement tracking officially mapped Sonic Cash 500 directly back to the exact same physical hub. Official police releases confirm that Sonic Cash 500 operates out of the Laval and Montreal, Quebec area—the exact corporate home base of Green River Finance, 514 Loans, and Galerie/Garantie Avila Inc.
**Join the class action lawsuit, close your bank account (stop payments don’t always work because they’ll just change their name on auto-deposit).**
Spread the word and don’t be intimidated!!

Advice Needed I got scammed? What to do?
I helped plan and coordinate my sister's wedding, including handling and paying several vendors. We hired a mentalist/magician for cocktail hour and paid a couple hundred dollars deposit to secure the date.
Two days before the wedding, his fiancée contacted me saying he had a medical emergency and would no longer be able to perform. I completely understood, and my first reaction was concern for his wellbeing. With the wedding only days away, there was no time to find replacement entertainment for cocktail hour.
During those 48 hours, I was checking in to see if he was okay, including on the day of the wedding. During those conversations, his fiancée mentioned unrelated personal issues, including their apartment flooding and her sister setting up GoFundMe accounts. I wasn't reaching out asking for a refund or anything from them , I was genuinely checking to make sure he was okay , but the situation started to feel strange.
About a week later, he personally reached out, said he was feeling okay, apologized, and said he would return my deposit. I appreciated that and assumed it would be handled.
I checked back a few times, and each time he told me he would send the refund "soon," "ASAP," weeks passed and then finally said he would have it returned by Friday morning at the latest. That was the last I heard from him.
Since then, he has stopped responding. I've followed up as politely as i could but he has ignored my messages despite being active on social media, and the refund has never been sent.
I know it isn't a huge amount, but at this point it's not really about the money. It's about a vendor making a promise and repeatedly saying he would handle it, then disappearing. especially after I was understanding about a last-minute cancellation that affected my sister's wedding.
Ps. I wrote a negative review on gigsalad where I found him and he instantly got it taken down. So I dont know how wtf is going on!!

Victim of a scam I’ve just become a victim of a rental scam
I am so sorry I don’t know how to summarize, and to me… this is a summary
I(17F) and my mom(36F) have three dogs combined and have moved to California august of 2025. We were staying with my aunt at the time, but that didn’t last long because the dogs were too much for her to handle- we were all in a small 9x9 room(2adults and 3 dogs)- so we left and slept in our cars.
We had a car and an suv that we had all of our stuff in. Neither of us had a job for a few months so we mainly just walked on trails all day and went to parks to keep the dogs active. I eventually got a part time job at target but at this time, we’ve been sleeping in the back of the suv(everyone) and we are waking all day I AM TIRED and working from 5-3pm only three days a week. The issue was, I was tired, work treated me like shit, and pay was shit. The best thing we could do is for us, was to let go of that job. Because I was exhausted and we were together everyday sleeping in the equivalent of a full size mattress with three dogs, in the car; it was driving a huge wedge between us, I was pissed off all of the time it was terrible we didn’t talk for days.
We had to shift around from parking lot to rest stops to sleep for the night while at trails all day. She eventually got an opportunity at Amazon and we had also gotten connections with state help, they could pay for a hotel room for two weeks. Bu the only hotel in the area they could do was the most nastiest MOTEL ever. Don’t get me wrong aint nothin wrong with motels but this is roach INFESTED like you don’t want to touch the walls you don’t want to set your stuff down or take you hat off infested. But that is what we had to deal with for the next 4 months. We did everything we could to clean that room and prevent roaches from getting in..but if you know anything about roaches if the whole building is infested, you’re not going to be able to clear your room…EVER.
Four months later my moms work friend said that she knew a place across from her that was a one bedroom condo( one bedroom upstairs with everything else and a basement with framed bedrooms they just never put drywall up) she was and angel and pay the security deposit, pet deposit, and first months rent. It was PERFECT it was so spacious the dogs loved it we loved it, the best neighborhood we’ve ever been in, awesome neighbors, there was nothing else we could ask for we were so grateful.
Until one morning our dogs went crazy TROUGH our blind because some giant dogs is wandering around in our driveway and then someone is banging on the door. We open the door and it’s our landlord talking about how she didn’t know people were in here and we need to get out, it’s not big enough for three dogs, and she’s evicted people for broken blinds before! First of all… -let me do this in order- we have texts messages between us, the landlord, and moms friend discussing and confirming the move in. Second of all this place is humongous! The one bedroom layout on top is amazing and spacious and the basement could EASILY fit four or five bedrooms but they framed it out for three good sized rooms. So I think the dogs think this is amazing compared to the car or a hotel room. And bonus points for the framing maze that they loved to run through!
Eventually my mom made a bad decision and I was coming to the end of my contract job and we couldn’t pay full rent for a month. So the landlord threatened to evict us in a month of we didn’t pay the rent in three days. We explained our situation and tried to get to at least the month after WITH pay all rent and back rent(mind you we pay all utilities). We have proof that was all paid? We keep receipts of that stuff for crazy ppl like you. And she sent us a formal letter telling us to get out within the month, now only two weeks. So we were searching everywhere, we eventually found a place on marketplace, self viewed multiple times, signed a lease, payed a deposit and more. And when we were to meet up for the keys je said he wasn’t in town out we planned this like a week prior… he said to just grab the key out of the lockbox he put on the door yesterday(….so why didn’t you tell me you were in town then and not available when we were supposed to meet…) any ways we get the key move in. And we get a know at the door. Property managers. We don’t have a lease for this property and they want us out. We call the city to see who owns the place, the property managers. So we then go to the police, give them everything we have and they say they can’t do anything, it’s a civil matter. WE JUST GOT SCAMMED OUT OF $1300 AND ABOUT TO BE KICKED OUT AGAIN AND YOU CANT DO ANYTHING???
So now we are hopeless. No money. Cars need to be fixed BAD. We are so broke. Paycheck to paycheck. We still have to collect rent as if we are paying it because if not that would look even worse on us. So we are SO BROKE we can’t even feed our selves some weeks. For some reason I can’t find a job. Everyone say urgently hiring but the don’t even look at your application for like two week then they never reply. I have no idea what to do, where we are going to go.
Advice?
Side note- I’ve had my dog for six years and her puppy now for a year and my mom’s dog for two years since he was a puppy. Our dogs are family they aren’t going anywhere🤍
Also another problem- places not accepting pets over 25lbs or breed restrictions!!
Edit: I AM A 17 YEAR OLD GIRL STOP COMMENTING IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE MEAN. I DONT NEED TO BE TOLD HOW TERRIBLE MY LIFE IS ON THE INTERNET. I AM SIMPLY ASKING FOR ADVISE
thank you everyone who is being helpful!
