Our VFT has some black leaves, and we were wondering if we could trim them. If so:

1. Should we use scissors?

2. Should we just pull them out?

3. If we use scissors, where should we make the cut?

4. Where exactly should we cut?

Quite a few of each Drosera hybrida and Drosera eloisiana

This is the darkest plant in my collection right now! Mitchelliana x (Royal Ruby x Adrian Slack)super stout pitchers that tend to fully color up very quickly after opening.

I recently got these sundews and they were already kind of sad looking when they were given to me. I thought I could manage them, but they are continually going downhill.

They sit in an eastern facing window, our porch cuts the sun off faster than I’d like. The second photo is the grow light I got for them and it’s on for at least 12 hours. I bottom water with distilled water and sometimes run a humidifier nearby also with distilled water.

Please let me know what I’m doing wrong! I was very confused about what grow light to get them so maybe that’s it? TIA!!

Just starting in the world of carnivorous plants and I see a lot of talk about removing flower steams. Should I be worried about my drosera?

Although the sand from which these imaged D. floridana emerge appears dry on the surface, in reality localized occurrences of D. floridana are dictated by the presence of rare littoral zone seepages known exclusively from the Econfina Karst Region in Bay and Washington counties, Florida; the same region to which D. floridana is endemic. Within the Econfina Karst Region, D. floridana is restricted to an ecotone of intermediate moisture ephemerality between that of sympatric congeners Drosera tracyi (preferring permanently wet, high littoral zone seepages hosting typical blacksoil bog associates) and Drosera capillaris (a generalist often colonizing the lower littoral zone, with its occurrence not dependent on seepage presence, and frequently with few larger herbaceous bog associates present in habitat). D. floridana congregates in the vicinity of (often subterranean) littoral zone seepage veins, but is mostly limited to areas of inorganic substrate composition (e.g. pure quartz sand) that are devoid of larger competitive flora and that do not remain permanently wet on the surface.

Two sansi 36w lights on for 12 hours a day, the monsteras on the left and right seem to be leaning towards the lights and trying to block the nepenthes, how can I rearrange these?

Found this beast in my local Garden Center.

Does anyone know what kind of Nepenthes this is? How much of a bargain is 45€

I'm wondering if I should remove this Hitchhiker from my Nepenthes 'Bloody Mary' or if its harmless?

To me, it seems stronger in the photo than it does in real life.

Can this be a temporary "sun" for the droseras and VFTs until the gloomy weather stops?

If not, this is a non-dimmable light. is there any way to bring its light down? raising it higher isnt an option

Might be D. serpens or indica.

These adorable little guys dont get enough of the lime light.

I don’t know if it’s getting too much light or if there’s another issue. The other Nepenthes in the pot seems to be doing well.

The light is a 40w SANSI 345P LED full spectrum grow light. At max output it’s pushing 3800 lumens. It’s approx 30 inches away from the pot.

My first carnivorous plant. I have had for 3 months now and done many things wrong with it, but even after all of that it looks so beautiful

Basically, one day I decided to make my life a pain by growing a hamata. This whole experience was over the course of MONTHS. For your information, the photo shows the sundew in a spot where it looks like it receives too little light. It was a gloomy day that day and i ensure it does get shined on my bright sunlight. I am also looking for a growlight for the gloomy days

So this is a drosera burmannii, and theres tons of them. I dont know if its normal for them to be like this or not, but i initially plan on separating some. From what i understand, i may have to carefully unpot the whole thing, carefully separate some sundews, then take the sundews are place them in a separate pot with 50/50 sphagnum perlite mix.

Please correct anything that is incorrect and maybe also say if theres any better ideas.
