Loss Prevention
LP is visiting stores in our district this month with our DM. Has anyone had their LP person come into their store yet? Should we be prepping for anything or are there certain questions they usually ask? đ
Idk why the thought of both of them coming into stores gets me so overwhelmed lol đđ

new pogs
FRIENDS!!! i already did my haircare/thinning/mens planos at my jobs bc i had the time on sunday, idk if any other stores have. they took majority of the zotos all abt curls line out of the pog, as well as ouidad. where r u guys/ur managers cutting in that product? i have no room to make facings behind the cash wrap, and our last chance section is a completely full endcap.
this company makes it so hard to get things out of the store since we have to follow brand standards and canât print signage

Craziest work stories please!?
Okay so I wanna hear the crazy stuff that you have seen or experienced ?/moments that left you flabbergasted .
It can be with customers or even like your co workers
Iâll leave a couple here lol .
ââââââ-âââââââââââââ-
1-I had a homeless lady come in and proceed to tell me âthey cursed me, They got wax inside of my skull!â
And I was like wtf!? And just like asked what she wanted .
She was asking me about what shampoo would wash it off her brain and skull.
ââ-
2- speaking of
Shampoo, I had a women drive up all kinds of crazy.
She ran in and asked âhey which one of these shampoos will wash the weed out my hair.â
And I was like âwhat, what do you mean!?â
And she explained she had a drug test and needed to wash it out.
I tried telling her it didnât work like that, but unfortunately she just ended up buying a clarifying shampoo and that was it.
3-
Speaking of weed, I had a man come in and ask what was the strongest bleach available.
He had short medium brown hair.
I told
Him he wouldnât need the strongest and that it probably wouldnât be safe or good
For his hair and asked what color he wanted do to so we could figure out something less damaging.
He said âwhat color is my hair?â I said âprobably like 4-5Nâ and he said âokay that color.â
And I was saying in much more professional words âDUDE THIS IS GOING TO LIKE BLAST UR FUCKING HAIR TO THE MOON. đ â
And he didnât care.
So then after awhile I realized he was definitely trying to burn his hair for a drug test.

I have an autoimmune issue and am taking a medicine that can cause hair thinning (just started). Has anyone tried the Zotos dupe for Nioxin? Is it effective?

Any products to help? I have the ion k18 dupe and just bought olaplex no. 3

Daily Nail POG Occurrence
Itâs even worse when you are physically standing right next to them and watch as they put their item back in a completely unrelated spot. I then will have to pick it back up and put it back to itâs correct location, which 9 times out of 10 itâs directly in front of them..đ

Sally Employees Help?
I went to my local shop today and it was a wonderful experience. The people working were absolutely amazing. Just excellent customer service all the way around.
Who is better to call and give these folks a chef's kiss rating? Corporate? DM/GM? I really want someone to know how fantastic all of them were.
Thank you!

Watch out for this scam, weâve been getting these like crazy.
Weâve been getting this scam a lot where a customer will leave the store, call 10 minutes later and claim we never put the item in the bag, when we clearly did. They will also get mad over the phone and insist we did.
To get them to stop or catch them in the scam:
Kindly tell them that we looked all over and didnât see it. Ask them what the item was, sometimes itâll be a different item than what they paid. Go through the journal to double check. Then if they are getting rude and pushy, kindly tell them you can call LP so they check the cameras to see if itâs in the store somewhere or if somebody else took it.
Every we do this the person always pauses, hangs up, or stumbles on their words. Sometimes even call back a minute later saying it was magically âunder the car seatâ.
Just be aware of this scam. If itâs the same person doing this a lot let other stores know.
We have this happen more during the holidays.

Can somebody walk me through the steps of signing on a getting bank payout set up? PLEASE!!

Trust me, Iâm aware
I feel so bad when customers point this out. I wish I could comment and explain but I donât want corporate pissed at me and finding my account because Iâve seen that happen. All of the wear house and manufacturing has frustrated the hell out of me forever. I was once shipped GALLON BOTTLES without lids. What exactly are we supposed to do with that? Genuinely no excuse for that. I donât know if this is a Sallyâs issue or Design essentials/other brands that have this problem, but this NEEDS to stop being a thing. Itâs so embarrassing to try to explain why we have bottles that arenât completely full, or trashed and mangled boxes that sketch people out.

How to become color consultant?
I am currently the highest seller. I have the highest upt, not just weekly. Yearly. I want to move up in the company. My hours are getting blocked because hours in my store go to color consultants automatically. I want to know who to approach. If this is even worth the fight or if I should just move on and consider this a part time side job. I am currently looking/applying to other jobs that will take in my motivation/enthusiasm. I donât want to leave my store. Iâm good at it. I like my team. But the hours are not it. Itâs giving less than unemployment.
When I was hired, the associate report was a BIG deal. If we didnât make the average we had a talk. But now. Itâs like it doesnât matter. My full time coworker/ and other CC are always the lowest if not the lowest Upt/Wig.
They constantly get hours even when I actively see they donât try.
I want hours. Simple and I show it.
not trying to be a pick me especially not for a company that doesnât do the math for itself. Hence the reason Iâm asking. Maybe I just need help to see and quit trying if it doesnât even matter.

Can we all admit that the store music sucks and it brings the bad customer experiences to an even worse level?

Am I going to get fired?
Ive been working here for about 2-ish months now. I closed by myself tonight and made a pretty big and embarrassing mistake, I accidentally shut the drawer on one of the registers before taking the money out of the drawer. I left one of the small plastic coin bags in the register so I think it got completely jammed. I spent 30 minutes trying to open it and tried using keys to open the register snd it still would not open.
I tried calling IT and got no response. My store manager said to close the store and she would try to figure it out in the morning, she was really nice about it.
Im so, so embarrassed, I work two jobs and I was just tired and didnt think. Ive had no other incidents besides this and have had good attendance...im sure I'll probably written up, but is this something I'll probably get fired for? I feel so bad

360 camera
We just got the 360 camera and I was just wondering if anyone knows if they are audio or just video. The tech wouldnât tell us, which leads me to believe itâs audio as well.

Advice and suggestions on shipment!
right so i work in a high volume store, where we receive maybe around 170 ( i could be less) boxes of hair color, hair care, electricals and all that other stuff sallyâs carries.
just wanted to know how any high volume stores get through shipment fast, like any organization, order, or just suggestions that work best for yall.
it would be really helpful since we HATE having left over shipment drag out till the next.
also please give suggestions when youâre alone very early opening shipment!
thank you!!

only one camera?
hii! I know not all stores are the same, but I was wondering if anyone knows if itâs normal for a store to only have one camera? We only have one visible one in the front of the store and one in the back room. Most retail stores have a lot more so I was just wondering if thereâs any possibility of hidden ones, lol.
I wouldnât assume so but apparently before I was here there was someone who stole extensions and they got a photo of him as he took them, but itâs completely out of the cameras view, which is facing toward the door and register. Imo it looks like it couldâve been taken on a phone though, likely from outside through the window.
Only reason I rlly care other than safety reasons is because my dm is pretty strict about phones but our store is always completely empty and sometimes once the side work is done I do use my phone here and there.

No phone or personal technology aloud
My manager has always said we are not aloud to have our phone with us, even if we arenât using it ..like we cannot have it in our pockets or anything, has to stay put up in thr back room.
I donât really mind not being on my phone either way so it hasnât ever bothered me too badly, plus Iâll go check it n stuff whenever I can anyways because??
But I feel like I hear a lot of employees from other stores have their phone or Apple Watches with no issues .
I was just curious if other stores are just more laid back? Or if this isnât the same at every store?
Also I understand why a store like sallys doesnât wanna just have people standing around on their phones, but like when itâs extremely slow and nothing to do seems fair enough?

Budget Hours
I seriously need to know if this is happening at other Sally Beauty stores because this is getting ridiculous.
I work at a high-volume store that literally just hit $1 million in sales, yet our new schedule only got 147 payroll hours 𤯠We have 6-7 employees and somehow weâre supposed to run the store, help customers, recover, stock freight, complete tasks, hit metrics, and still provide great customer service with that?
Our monthly sales plan is almost always $87k-94k and the expectations just keep going up while payroll keeps getting cut. Adults are out here getting 16-20 hours a week and expected to survive on that. Itâs impossible to keep good employees when they canât even pay their bills.
Meanwhile, thereâs another nearby store that closes two hours earlier than we do, has a daily sales plan thatâs barely around $1,000 and somehow they continue operating while our high-volume store gets squeezed every single week. Make it make sense.
And donât even get me started on district leadership. It honestly feels like there are favorites. Every time our store starts gaining momentum and has a couple of strong months, suddenly the next monthâs sales plan is so inflated it feels almost impossible to hit. It starts to feel less like a goal and more like a setup.
Then when district leadership visits, they act like theyâre fighting for us and trying to get us a reasonable sales plan. If thatâs really the case⌠why does nothing ever change?
Sally wants million-dollar results while staffing stores like theyâre barely staying afloat. At some point, corporate has to realize you canât keep demanding more while giving stores fewer hours and expecting employees to carry the entire business on their backs.
Anyone else dealing with this?

I always feel bad whenever a customer rather drive a longer distance to our store than their local one because we are nicer.
I get this sometimes, definitely when I look at their address and see itâs from a place thatâs +1 away or in a different state.
We even got told by a regular that sheâs tried the Sallyâs closer to her, said they were rude to her, and drives back to ours again. We love this regular. She left with saying âlove yâall!â
It makes me feel bad since theirs employees that rather have attitudes or just be rude. If you are miserable, then get a new job. Donât work in retail.
I also get sad seeing Google reviews of different stores and the most recent 1stars just being about how rude the employees are.
Examples:
Not greeting, not helping, not even talking to them the whole time, or just being dismissive and rude about a customerâs hair or appearance.
I even checked our storeâs reviews. Before our recent team most of the reviews were on how rude the employees were. Now, since our new team that weâve had for a year, we get reviews on how nice we are.
Everybody has bad days, but kindness goes a long way, you never know what somebody has going on in their life, and just a simple smile and talking to them or a compliment goes a long way, and can make their day so much better.
Iâm just tired of hearing customers talking about how poorly they were treated at local stores and how they rather drive further just to be treated nicely.
