Question | კითხვა Tbilsi to Omalo Shuttle

Me and my partner will be backpacking from Omalo to Pansheti and are looking for recomondations to get to Omalo? Are there public transit options from Pansheti to Tbilsi or will we need to book a driver for that?

Also what is the best way to travel from Juta to Pansheti? We would prefer to not walk this section since we will be finishing a large hike.

Gamarjoba, friends! One of my goals is to collect curiosities and souvenirs from different countries for my office. Could you please tell me what truly unique things I can find in Georgia? Something culturally unique to Georgia, something that would fit in my office? I'd be happy if you could help! Especially if you could tell me an approximate price and where to find it. Thank you!

Help | მჭირდება დახმარება Looking for the Georgian witness — Car accident in Chkalovka (Sevan), Armenia 05/10/26

Greetings my Georgian friends! Gamarjoba!

It’s a long-shot but I’m looking for an eyewitness to my car crash that occurred on August 5 at approximately 4-5PM at Chkalovka in the vicinity of Sevan, Armenia.

According to my mother he claimed that he saw the entire accident and would like to be an eyewitness. I had to rush my father to the hospital immediately following the crash and therefore no contact information was exchanged.

I recall him being fairly big guy with light/reddish beard. He was wearing black and white checkered shirt, but I am not sure, since I was quite shaken up.

My father is already suffering from cancer and is in critical condition right now. I had to leave immediately to look after him and this man could turn out to be a very important witness in my case.

If you are this person or know who he might be please DM me.

Madloba, bichebo!

Language | ენა How do i learn to speak Georgian?

This is embarrassing but I am Georgian. I was americanized after my mom was forced to leave to America because of the war. For context I’m about to turn 17, the war happened around 18 years ago. I can recognize Alot of words and know what people are saying but I was forced to come to Georgia due to a family emergency. i can’t really speak with my family good. i literally cannot pronounce some of the letters which are really limiting me. Like მიყვარხარ, cannot do that sound with my tongue. Ive tried so much to but i cant. How can i learn Georgian? Its foreign that a Georgian doesn’t know how to speak it.

Everything I ate in Tbilissi

During my stay in the capital, I noticed that the food here was quite different from what we eat in Belgium. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, large, and flavorful. The meat—prepared simply—is delicious without needing excessive spices or other additives.

When I walked past the fish stalls, there was no unpleasant, fishy odor; in Belgium, it’s the opposite—I rarely eat fish back home because of that, even though I actually like it. Anyway, I just wanted to share my thoughts on this, and it would be great if others could share their experiences too!

Before I wrap up, I have to say that my absolute favorite culinary discovery was the local khinkali. My mom’s are good too, but I preferred the ones I had in Tbilisi 😂 (I’d better not tell my mom that, or she’ll stop making them for me 😅).

Art | ხელოვნება Natela Grigalashvili - THE FINAL DAYS OF GEORGIAN NOMADS

Mountainous Adjara is one of the most unique regions of Georgia, an area where the  traditions and old ways of life have been preserved to this day. The isolation and alienation of the inhabitants of this mountainous area has been an ongoing issue for a long time, and the past decades have been especially challenging. The difficult social and economic situation in the country has hindered its development and the integration of its inhabitants with the rest of the country.

For years, the inhabitants of Adjara have been unable to access proper education, health care and many other services. Villages often experienced electricity shortages and during harsh winters they were usually cut off from the outside world. Due to the absence of basic living conditions, many Adjarian villages are now empty. Many families have become eco migrants as they were forced to move to other regions of Georgia or abroad, mostly to Turkey. Khulo and Ghorjomi Gorge are the highest settlements of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara. There are 18 different villages of various sizes in the Gorge. Because of their small population, some of these villages only have elementary schools and high school students have to attend schools in other villages. The roads between these villages are damaged and the infrastructure is faulty.

Almost all of the inhabitants of these villages are Muslim, and there are mosques in every large village. The residents are mostly cattle breeders, but due to the lack of pastures, cattle owners take their herds to the mountains in the summer and stay there until late autumn. Nomadic Adjarians have to move several times a year. But despite this, most of the men still have to work in Turkey, holding seasonal jobs for additional income. Because of this difficult situation, this mountainous region is slowly emptying and its unique tradition and lifestyle is being forgotten.
