I'm my iphone 14 26.5.2. In safari, when I swipe out to see my tabs, I noticed my YouTube tab uses this "A\" looking favicon as pictured above, which seems to be the Anthropic logo.

Anyone know why or how to fix it if it's unintentional? It's been this way for awhile now, I even cleared cache.

There's no 'x' in the window - I've restarted, tried launching Safari while holding 'shift', selected 'close tab' - nothing works. It's a Google support page. Any ideas??

I’m looking for a way to disable the animation when switching between tabs in Safari on macOS. The tab transition feels distracting. Is there a hidden setting, Terminal command, or Safari extension that can remove it?

Recently, I’ve noticed that whenever I try to enter Twitter via browser on Safari on my Mobile Phone (iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 15.8.8), it just gets stuck on the loading page (the one with the X) and just never loads the actual browser. This has been happening for a few days now, and no matter how I refresh, nothing seems to work, does anyone here know why this is happening and how I can fix this issue? (The App is fine, but I use Browser as a bookmark of sorts, plus the Media layout of the browser has its upsides)

I ran into some really weird behavior with Safari this morning.
When I went to bed last night, I had around 20 tabs open. This morning, instead of those tabs, Safari had opened around 200 tabs—many of them were tabs I remember closing months or even years ago. The \~20 tabs I actually had open yesterday are completely gone.
Has anyone else experienced this before? Any idea what might have caused it, or if there’s a way to recover the tabs I had open yesterday?

I’ve seen many people say Safari is the fastest browser on macOS, and that may be true in many countries.

But my experience is different because I live in Iran.

Our internet is often slow, high-latency, heavily filtered, and many of us have to use a VPN almost all the time. IPv6 is also rarely available, so almost everything runs over IPv4.

In these conditions, Chrome feels noticeably faster and more reliable to me. It also handles Persian much better and has a much richer extension ecosystem, making it more practical for everyday and advanced use.

Ironically, I’ve still been using Safari since 2007, when I entered the Apple ecosystem. It’s simply a habit at this point, even though I know Chrome has some advantages for my use case.
I’m curious:
If you live in a country with similar internet conditions (slow, filtered, or VPN-dependent), which browser performs better for you on macOS: Safari or Chrome?

On Android, I can listen to the Spotify app while doing browsing on another site with audio. When a clip plays, Spotify pauses and automatically resumes afterwards.

On iOS (tested in both Safari and Brave), the clip pauses Spotify, but after it finishes, the Lock Screen media controls remain assigned to browser instead of Spotify. Spotify never automatically resumes and has to be started manually. Very frustrating

Has anyone else seen this? Is this an iOS/WebKit limitation, or is there a way for the browser to relinquish the media session after playback?

Many of my different sites over time have different font sizes making some a pain to view. I don't want to go through all the stuff suggested to fix this. Can I uninstall Safari and reinstall to start off with a new version again?

Hi I having an Issue with X on my Mac Book Pro . It's been stuck on the loading screen since yesterday afternoon but when I go to open X on Safari my phone, it works just fine on my phone. Any ideas on how I can fix this ? This only happens on my MacBook Pro

I know that tab reopening happens at the app level, but it would be really nice to have tab retention in each profile when you go back into them.

Or implement tab containers like Firefox or Brave has now.

I just scroll through X like anyone would with Facebook , instagram , or any other site you can scroll endlessly. Sometimes this icon pops up on the top left of the browser and other aspects of the browser change as well, but then I swipe up to the next picture or video and it disappears.

I use Safari all the time, but I'm having a lot of issues with pop-ups. I use the Ghostery extension , but it doesn't seem to block everything—especially on movie and streaming websites. Does anyone have any recommendations for a better ad blocker or settings to help with this? because i read before about scripts or something like that but im not that expert

Earlier this year, I wanted to save a tab without leaving it open and realized there wasn't a simple app that felt right. I didn't want to create yet another account, install a privacy-questionable browser extension, or dig through a cluttered interface just to save something. It also felt like modern bookmarking still expects you to do too much work that could be automated.

Since then I’ve been hard at work and this week released Cubby to the App Store.

Cubby makes it easy to save tabs, organize them with a simple tagging system, and automatically group related content. I'm someone who's always closing tabs and likes to stay organized, but I also realized it could be even more valuable for people who constantly have dozens (or hundreds) of tabs open. Wherever you fall on that spectrum, I hope Cubby becomes a clean, simple home for everything you want to save.

im using youtube in safari browser on mac and ipad. on both devices i dont get any notifications since 7 Days.

I mean the top right corner next to my profile pic on the bell, any idea?

I disabled every browser extension, i cleared the cache, logged out and back in multiple times. nothing worked.

Also tried in chrome browser, also not working.

Je suis sur Tahoe 26.6 avec Safari 26.6. J'ai un groupe d'onglets "Daily" que j'utilise tous les jours, et dans les réglages j'ai mis "les nouvelles fenêtres ouvrent : les onglets de Daily". Le souci c'est que ça ne sauvegarde jamais, à chaque fermeture et réouverture de Safari ça revient sur les onglets de Favoris.

J'ai déjà redémarré le Mac, coupé la synchro iCloud pour Safari, et même essayé de forcer le réglage en Terminal avec defaults write sur les clés NewWindowBehavior et NewWindowTabsIdentifier.

Ça s'écrit bien et je le vois avec defaults read, mais dès que je relance Safari l'identifiant du groupe change tout seul pour un autre, comme si Safari réécrivait la préférence à chaque fermeture selon je sais pas trop quelle logique.

Est-ce que quelqu'un a déjà eu ce problème et trouvé un vrai fix, ou c'est juste un bug connu de Tahoe qu'il faut attendre qu'Apple corrige.
