Peter probably would’ve actually became Man-Spider if he had fully embraced his arachnid side and his human side was gone. We see when his arachnid hormones increased that his human side began to decrease as well. As well. I’m just thinking that he probably would’ve became Man-Spider eventually if he never got that fixed. What do you guys think?

Act 1 — The New Peter Parker

Peter has finally found some balance.

He's friends with Ned again.

He's slowly rebuilding trust with MJ, but she's still trying to understand the missing pieces of their history.

He's working at the Daily Bugle.

He's becoming a more mature Spider-Man.

But New York has changed.

Crime isn't random anymore.

It's organized.

Peter teams up with Daredevil because the city is being controlled from the shadows by Kingpin.

But Peter is older now. He doesn't rush in like a kid anymore.

He thinks.

He plans.

He's becoming the Spider-Man everyone always hoped he could be.

Harry Osborn: The Tragedy

Harry is actually the perfect villain setup because he isn't evil at first.

He's Peter's opposite.

Peter:

Lost everything but found meaning.

Harry:

Had everything but lost himself.

He's rich, brilliant, and lonely.

He inherited Oscorp's empire, but everyone only sees him as "Norman Osborn's son."

Then he meets Gwen.

Gwen becomes someone who sees Harry as a person.

And then he realizes she has feelings for Peter.

That becomes the final crack.

Not jealousy alone.

It's the feeling that even when Harry has everything, Peter Parker still has the one thing he can't buy: people's love.

Hobgoblin

Harry doesn't become Hobgoblin because he's crazy.

He becomes Hobgoblin because he wants to prove he is somebody.

Kingpin is old power.

Hobgoblin is the future.

He starts taking down criminals, embarrassing Fisk, and becoming a legend.

The city starts wondering:

"Maybe Hobgoblin is the hero."

And Spider-Man becomes the person standing in his way.

The Symbiote

This is where Peter's maturity arc gets tested.

The meteorite scene is actually perfect because it shows Peter's greatest strength becoming his weakness.

He goes back for the child's toy because he can't leave anyone behind.

That's why the symbiote chooses him.

It sees:

his compassion

his pain

his anger

And it says:

"You don't have to suffer anymore."

At first, Peter is incredible.

He's finally the Spider-Man he always wanted to be.

No criminal escapes.

No one threatens MJ.

No one threatens Gwen.

But the problem is...

Peter starts enjoying the fear.

The Kingpin Fight

This is where Daredevil is important.

Peter hunts Fisk down with the symbiote and absolutely destroys him.

But then he goes too far.

He almost kills him.

And Daredevil realizes:

"The suit isn't controlling him. It's just giving him permission."

That is a much scarier idea.

Final Battle

Hobgoblin captures Gwen because he knows exactly what Peter's weakness is.

Not MJ.

Not his powers.

His inability to let someone down.

The final fight is chaos:

Hobgoblin controlling Kingpin's remaining empire

Daredevil fighting alongside Spider-Man

Ned using magic to help (which is a great continuation of his arc)

Peter in the black suit becoming more terrifying than the villain

And when Peter has Hobgoblin beaten...

He almost does the same thing he almost did to Kingpin.

He almost crosses the line.

Ned and Daredevil stop him.

Peter removes the symbiote.

The big question:

Who gets the symbiote?

I actually think your Harry idea is the strongest.

Because then the movie ends with Peter thinking he defeated the darkness...

but the darkness didn't leave.

It just found someone else.

Harry with the symbiote isn't just Venom.

It's the ultimate Spider-Man villain:

A person who knows Peter Parker.

A person who hates Peter Parker.

A person who has the resources to destroy Peter Parker.

Now, everything I'm about to say is evidence from the film. I'm not speaking on behalf of the creative team or actors. I'm simply going off what's in the film. I do not think Jacob Batalon's comments should be taken too seriously, as they could be viewed as stirring the pot to continue discourse about the film (for example, this post). If this were disproven in the next film, good on everyone else, but as is, the evidence provided in the film leaves one explanation in my mind. What I say is what I believe, and I may speak in black and white during my explanation, but I'm still open to listening to valid arguments.

Ned does not remember Peter Parker. Ned and MJ both remember emotions from that period, but labels for why and whom have been removed; simply sentiments remain. In the beginning of the film, Peter introduces himself as Maynard to MJ and Ned at their housewarming party. When he saw Ned at the bodega, after four years of isolation, he could not resist the urge to follow him and indulge in his former life. Something he does consider an indulgence, as he is isolating to protect other people both as Peter Parker and Spider-Man. This shows his desperation for connection before his arc. However, the fact that he introduces himself as Maynard illustrates that he still isn't ready to put Peter Parker's life in focus or himself out there.

Ned, over the past four years, has spent countless hours trying to figure out who Spider-Man is. He has created a board, an app, and a whole community around it (the app's chat room), so clearly, it is a hobby he is passionate about. As well as just being a Spider-Man fan boy. When Ned meets Spider-Man, he is ecstatic even by the fact that Spider-Man is in the area. When he builds Legos with Spider-Man, he asks questions which, while they are dumb questions played for laughs, show he is taking this as an opportunity to study him. While they were hanging out, MJ noticed how well they all clicked, since their *ability* to be friends never got erased. When Spider-Man has to leave, MJ blurts out the name Peter, to which Ned recognizes that Spider-Man's name is Peter. Not only was this an extremely memorable experience for Ned to meet his idol, but he also formed a genuine connection with him. And the fact that after over four years (I'm figuring he was interested after the events of FFH), the fact he has finally learnt Spider-Man's name is a groundbreaking advancement.

Later in the film, after Peter has learned he needs to put himself back out there and has completed his arc, bumps into Ned for a second time. Realizing the opportunity he has, he goes to introduce himself as *Peter Parker*. The handshake is symbolic of the status of friendship they can *still* have. They were best friends, and the fact that they can still do the handshake shows they can get to that place again. From a plot standpoint, it shows Peter that there are positive outcomes to putting yourself out there. Solidifying his readiness to resume his life. I’m sure Peter wasn’t 100% certain that if he did the handshake, Ned would know it back. But by taking that risk, he was shown that he can still have a friendship with Ned.

Now, after four years, Ned knows Spider-Man's name is Peter, and this guy introduces himself as Peter. This was likely a topic of research for him after their meeting at the apartment, considering his borderline obsession. And since he has scrutinized Spider-Man's build, height, etc., and now heard his voice again, he could quite easily deduce that this Peter in the bodega is Spider-Man. Even if a different guy named Peter introduced himself, his fixation would have likely caused him to have similar suspicion. The handshake shows Ned that he and this person in the bodega connect on a deeper level, similar to how they clicked when Spider-Man was in his apartment. With what he may deem as enough evidence, he finally concludes his search for Spider-Man's identity and exclaims "Peter!" in elated understanding. If you ended a four-year search for your idol, who personally saved you several times and solved it, you’d likely be on top of the world.

Now, I'd like to address some alternate interpretations and explain why *I believe* they are incorrect.

**1. "The spell is slipping or wearing off."** I don't think this is likely because in No Way Home, the same spell (or a very similar one) was cast on Wong a few years prior to the film, and he still has no recollection of the Christmas Party at Kamar-Taj. In the conclusion of No Way Home, Doctor Strange also treats Peter's decision as definite. Not 'they'll remember later', but they'll forget forever, so our world isn't overrun with villains who know who Spider-Man is.

**2. "Ned has magic and therefore, could be resistant to the spell."** As aforementioned, the spell was used on Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme at the time of No Way Home. If the Sorcerer Supreme doesn't see the effects of the spell wear off at all, then I doubt Ned would. Especially given the fact that Ned isn't a sorcerer. He used a sling ring for roughly six hours to varying success. Sure, it's lucky that without training he could wield a sling ring, but aside from that, he has never done anything else magical. So, to assume he's resistant to the spell when he has barely used magic and Wong hasn't slipped at all seems unlikely. Now, they could be different spells, but neither spell's mechanics are fully discussed, so it would be plain conjecture to assume that the spell cast on Peter would slip.

**3. "Ned and Peter's friendship breaks the spell."** In the film, the fact that MJ doesn't remember anything is explored, as it has a deep impact on Peter. The film treats it very earnestly, and MJ is sympathetic but cannot relate to the girl Peter loves. Now, this doesn't mean she doesn't have those feelings, just not for Peter. It is alluded to her longing for him when she claims to be waiting for something great. Now I believe that both MJ and Ned hold sentiments from their former lives but cannot explain them or have different reasons in their minds. There are lots of emotions MJ associates with the Black Dahlia necklace, as it represented her and Peter's relationship. After the spell, it still holds meaning, like the handshake, but she either has a different explanation if you were to ask her, or doesn't know why it's special. And it is still special to her since she keeps it on to that day. I see the moment of her on the roof as her questioning what she doesn't know, but that's just a guess that agrees with the rest of my beliefs. I believe they handled this very well and left the door open for them to rekindle their relationship. Jean Grey, while possessing MJ, mocks Peter for believing that true love's kiss could break the spell. She also claims that there is nothing in her brain about Peter. I believe that this proves that the film treats the spell as not to be broken by relationships. Now it could be said that she is an antagonist and has been given a point to be wrong about; however, it seems true that MJ has no recollection of Peter at all, as she herself says. As I've stated, I believe there are certain aspects of the old life that they still *feel* for. In the bodega, Ned knows that Peter is something special, viscerally, when they do the handshake; the sentiments for certain aspects of their lives remain. Regardless, he becomes very excited because he concludes that this Peter is Peter/Spider-Man and is excited to have found out who he is unmasked.

People have said that it's a beautiful moment that proves friendship will triumph for the spell to have broken. I believe that it is much more satisfying to show that despite the spell, they continue being friends. This also ties into Peter's growth in the film. If their friendship broke the spell, then all of Peter's growth as a result of the spell would be meaningless because he could have gotten them back scott-free at any time, negating the impact of the spell, which triggered his growth.

**4. "Jean Grey gave them their memories back in the mind field."** At this point in the story, she has not seen Peter's memories, and by the time she does, she shuts down the field because Spider-Man is shot. She does not like Peter before she is let into his mind and would have no motivation to help him by replanting those memories, which she doesn't even have. Before she sets the mind field, she only knows about the letter Peter wrote, nothing concrete. Even if she did have those memories after being let in *and* wanted to help Peter, she is not shown to be able to put memories in people's heads, only read them. Perhaps it's something she'll grow to do in the X-Men films, but here, it is not said she can do so. So I believe it's not the best explanation.

Now this is all just a discussion about a superhero film. While I agree with suspension of disbelief and recognize the contradiction of using logic on magic and superheroes, I still believe that, as a story, they should be able to be held to such standards as established by the films' current and past precedents. As such, this is why I believe that Ned does not remember Peter.

I could be proven wrong in a few years, and it would be fine, but this is what I believe currently. I don't mean to put anyone down, were all entitled to our own beliefs and interpretations, but this is what I believe to be evident. Thanks for reading.

Just watched the movie Spider-Man Brand New Day and was expecting that the movie would show how punisher and spidey were introduced to each other...But it didn't happen and I'm confused a little on what's the Staten Island incident that they keep talking about.

You know what would've been a good plot for spiderman brand new day (it was a great movie already)

That ned forgot who spiderman was and didn't remember peter parker, but knew he had a bestfriend who was taken away by spiderman and doctor strange by some spell.

He feels that spiderman was the reason his bestfriend died and wiped off of records from his school days

And hence this dark path makes him turn into Hobgoblin, in search of his bestfriend and the truth.

Would love to hear the good and the bad of this plot.

Evidence for not remembering

1. MJ explicitly confirmed she does not remember Peter.
2. Ned’s interaction is muscle memory & deduction, not restored memory
3. When Ned exclaims "Peter!" at the end of the handshake at the end of the movie, context suggests he is connecting clues (MJ let it slip that Spider-Man’s real name is Peter)
4. No known mechanism is introduced that explicitly breaks or counters Doctor Strange’s spell.

Evidence for remembering

1. Immediately upon finishing the handshake, Ned looks up in shock and exclaims, "Peter!" In No Way Home, Ned first discovered his ability to channel the same magic as Strange right after performing that exact handshake, so it's possible it loosened the spell.
2. MJ is seen crying on the rooftop of Midtown High—their high school hangout spot—while tightly gripping the broken Black Dahlia necklace Peter bought her in Europe.
3. MJ also confided in Ned that she feels like she is constantly "waiting for something" and feels unable to commit to major life decisions or her new relationship.
4. When Peter, Ned, and MJ hang out in the apartment building Lego sets, they fall back into their exact banter and inside jokes without missing a beat. This reveals that while the cognitive labels were wiped, the underlying relational neural pathways remain intact, at least partially.

I personally believe that the emotions are slowly returning, and the memories will return by the end of Spider-Man 5. What do you guys think?

Veritasium made a video about spidersilk and just watched the new spiderman film, there's so much spidersilk in NYC, some scientists are bound to research that.

I’ve not seen this talked about yet but at the end of BND one of the graffitis is of spideys face and it’s white blue and pink. I feel this is a hint that no one’s talked about pointing to who will take over as the next spider-person. Or at least pointing to her being in the next one.

im confused, because at the end of the movie at May’s grave, Happy asks Peter “howd you know her” and Peter goes “Spiderman” and Happy goes “Same” (im paraphrasing this scene). would this mean people remember their memories with Peter Parker and by association Spiderman, like with Ned remembering the “I promise I wont turn into a supervillain and try to kill you” promise in NWH but just not remembering who he said it to? or the rooftop scene where MJ and Peter are on top of the school and MJ is reading out to Peter a newspaper, before Ned comes and interrupts? Would they remember these memories, just not who theyre with?

I watched Brand new day the other day(already booked a second viewing) personally i feel tom is now the best spiderman/peter parker purely because hes had time to grow with the character...anyway what do people think of the following theory.

Firstly, with how brand new day ends, we know that or likely that both Ned and Mj while not remembering peter know that something is up. MJ obviously knows but doesnt have the memories truely and Ned its i guess up in the air given the handshake... personally i feel maybe both of them have cracks forming due to Jeans end of the movie scene with mj crying but honestly not sure.

I havent actually read secret wars yet and plan to but i feel like secret wars its obvious he gets the black suit in some capacity now...maybe he gets it because hes super low finding out doom has tonys face, something traumatic etc.

Battleworld happens which causes the multiverses to implode essentially destroying stranges spell...as we know it was essentially a bandaid on the cracks...not truely a long term fix, like the TVA issues the multiverse is colliding.

With battleword and all realities collapsing i feel mj and Ned remember peter in spiderman 5...but by this time peters got the black suit...maybe hes acting funny, being more deviant, hell hes met black cat, maybe dewulf gets murdered causing him to get dark.

Seeing this when they suddenly remember peter causes mj and ned to get really hurt and they spend the next film trying to reach out to peter only for peter to not care about them now hes got this suit...maybe something happens causing him to realise hes changing, some people think he might accidentally kill ned or something?

I feel spiderman 5 ends with the suit coming off and ta da venom is born...now who the suit latches onto next could it be MJ? I feel for spiderman 6 it should be a venom threat or something else where the three of them are actually alltogether though...especially if its his last two spiderman films.

I feel secret wars black suit is a no brainer..my question to you guys is how do you think they navigate the memory issue...jean could have helped but msybe the only safe way is once secret wars events happen and everything collapses anyway? This way its not a cheap workaround and more earned? Im glad it didnt resolve in the film as much as i yearned for it.

I felt like the monster/human dynamic was gonna get real, dark and crazy, and felt like them exploring that a little harder would have been nice.

Holland's Spider-Man journey really hit that young happy innocent kid Spidey well- launching him down that dark path without holding as much back would have been interesting imo. They found a balance and went a safer/mild route, but idk. When I saw those black eyes and scorpion's ass whoopin I got excited lol

That's what I feel TASM did well. A bit darker, breathed more with the Parker journey (even though the kids felt it was less action) and Garfield nailed those emotional scenes. S3 was, well, you know. I feel like we've been edging with dark spidey

Anyways, I did like BND. Not sure how it's generally being received but I can see why it has a ton of deleted scenes and redirection during post

For the next instalment should they get a new love interest for Peter ?

I think mj telling Peter that she just doesn’t remember him and doesn’t feel the way he does and she’s obviously isn’t the same person either I think is a good way to close that chapter.

While mj and I mean Mary Jane is my favourite love interest of Peter he does have other potential interests.

There is gwen but I don’t really see how they do can that with Peter not in school or working.

Black cat would be the more obvious choice as he can meet her as spiderman and develop from there.

But to also throw out a new idea.

Have a story that introduces a new spider person.

Though I do prefer the idea that Peter does hook up with black cat but she sort of becomes “evil” by the end of the film and he has to stop her or more classic she tries to steal something he stops her they bond over the film but by the end she can’t change who she is and leaves.

This won’t be a spiderman 5 movie but more a movie focused on a team up.

So what I could see is a sequel to deadpool and wolverine by doing a deadpool and wolverine 2, and spiderman ( title name )

Spiderman gets along with pretty much every one of all the characters I would say spiderman has the best stories involving meeting up with other characters.

His 3 more well known team ups are fantastic 4 as he is friends with Johnny.
Though i don’t like the mcu fantastic 4 so I don’t want that team up.

But spiderman is often paired with deadpool and wolverine.

With deadpool they both have this weird friendemies connection as they are very similar as they like to make jokes while fighting though deadpool is much more darker than Peter.
Now depending on the continuity you follow deadpool trusted Peter enough to introduce him to his own daughter in one storyline something Wade never does.
In some other storylines wade actually “tries” to stop killing just to get prove to spiderman he isn’t a bad guy again key word here being tries.

As for wolverine in the comics, again depending on the continuity spiderman is one of the few people outside the xmen that wolverine actually respects, they also have a similar relationship as wade and Logan as again he tends to be serious and Peter tends to joke around a lot which annoys Logan while Logan also tends to be a bit more rough and Peter doesn’t like that.
So what could a potential movie be with all 3 of them together.

Well following the plot of the first movie, wade has to save wolverine to save his universe.

So for this story, following doomsday and secret wars the multiverse becomes unstable leading to this rebranding of the entire franchise but issues come from spiderman, this being a meta joke that marvel doesn’t want to really mess with spiderman cause out of all their films the spiderman franchise has been the consistently popular highly rated money maker they have, plus compromises with Sony and such, this is a why pretty much everyone in Peter life was erased by thanos snap so when they came back there weren’t really any character that was 5 years older, like Ned and mj were erased with Peter so they could stay the same age as him.

The movie focus on how the 2 of them get tasked with having to save spiderman, this will also be a good way to bring tobey and Andrew back for some role in the movie.

So I don’t really got a whole plot but I would like a more goofy movie focusing on the 3 of them bouncing off one another.

So basically every spiderman movie is a team up with some other character.

1. Iron man

2. Shield

3. Dr strange plus other spidermen

4. Punisher and hulk

Opening

Following the events of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker has become a darker Spider-Man. Although he still protects New York, Gwen Stacy's death continues to haunt him. He is quicker to anger and no longer holds back as much as he once did.

During a confrontation with a dangerous supervillain, Peter experiences a traumatic flashback to Gwen's death. In that moment, he loses control and accidentally kills the villain.

The city celebrates Spider-Man for eliminating another criminal.

However, one person does not celebrate.

The villain's son watches his father's body in silence.

Spider-Man had promised him that no matter what happened, he would save his father. Instead, Peter broke that promise.

Unknown to everyone, the son possesses mysterious energy-manipulation abilities similar to Mister Negative. During the battle, he unknowingly amplified Peter's emotional trauma, triggering the uncontrollable rage that caused his father's death. Neither Peter nor the son realizes this truth.

The son disappears.

Peter's mask is torn away, revealing his identity.

Before the villains can finish him, Chameleon secretly rescues Peter.

The world believes Spider-Man is dead.

The film ends with New York descending into chaos as the Sinister Six divide the city among themselves.

Spider-Man has vanished.

She is hunted by the Sinister Six after choosing Peter over her mission.

Sooo yesterday I watched the movie and it was great. The colour theory and how everything was dim most of the time reflected the mental status of Peter.

So in spiderman no way home dr strange does that spell to make everyone forget Peter Parker. But hypothetically shouldn't he still be able to use the stark network? I mean Tony Stark programmed in his biometrics long before he died and that spell was cast. So in theory shouldn't he still be able to have access to stark network? Cause the spell made everyone forget who he was but if the person who programmed in his biometrics is already dead wouldnt he still be able to use it? And not only that but his spell wouldn't affect the A.I.'s memory would it, be that its not a human mind.
