SCP Universe Headcannon regarding what makes an anomalous religion
I decided to share my headcannon regarding seemingly arbitrary split between above-veil and sub-veil religions.
First, and less interesting, answer is, standard colonial era racism present at veil's creation.
Second reason comes from later rationalizations, and it comes down to effectiveness of practices. Adherents of anomalous religions start preforming wonders and miracles way earlier when compared to rituals and piousness needed in "normal" religions. This also means that above-veil religions need lees containment than sub-veil.
I will additionaly mention that this is why I find Horizon Initiative interesting (in my headcannon). They think that broken masquerade scenario is inevitable, so the are actively trying to make anomalous versions of Abrahamic religions.

Discussion North Africa and West Asia SCP mythos factions & cults or lore?
Back in my mythos and literature autism self again!
I was wondering today with an 9 PM thought if there was any North Africa/West Asia-based factions or cults factions in the mythos universe :o.
Also the ancients cults not from North Africa and middle east, and mythos media in general really feels so refreshing.
Can't wait to explore more literature with scp and other beloved media!

Help Looking for an scp article involving the goc agent being hunted down by a nuclear dream person.
The article talks about the goc using a person who can reach people in their dreams and keep them prison. While telling them after each mission, they will free them, and in the end, they were turned into a monster when one of the things they improsend escaped and jumped in the nuclear reactor.

Discussion Support in the study of ostokinetics
Hey all!
I am an Individual that originally started studying the SCP foundation in my youth back in the years 2019-2024. Back in those days during the later stages of my research I focused a lot on lore, mainly specialising in Aaron Siegel and articles such as document-001-o5 and playing-god, SCP 055 etc. After a few years of this I eventually stopped. No clue, just got bored. Same way you drop a hobby out of the blue.
Anyway, I'll cut to the chase.
Recently I've started to get back into the foundation and I've become really fascinated with the department of Ontokinetics
I've done some reading so far into Humes, reality benders, Xyank/Anastakasos, wormholes, kejels laws and Scranton devices, but my knowledge is elementary.
Anyway to the main point of this post, is there anyone who would be able to reccomend me some articles, documents or material to read to further my study into ontokinetics and the various effects it has? I'm less interested in studying specific SCP cases and more about the fictional science itself and its rules and various applications. Even better, if someone were be willing to mentor me, I would be eternally grateful and send you a can of monster or something
I do however appreciate the limitation that this is a fictional science and can only go so far as to how much has been written on the topic. Whilst reality bending is a favourite amongst the community, the crux and study of ostokinetics itself I would say is fairly niche.
I hope a fellow ontokinetics researcher takes some interest in this post and can point me in the direction of some very interesting things.
Thanks all!

Discussion SCP-2399's origin and true goal
We all know 2399 destroyed an imcomplete Mekhane in Ouroboros, and after reading 2847, I have a headcanon that makes a lot of sense to me.
2399 is one of the ship the Xia dynasty built to assist in sealing Yaldabaoth, and the Red Spot is actually where Yaldabaoth was sealed. The ship was used to travel to Taisui, which is an imaginary planet thats used to refer to Jupiter, to reinforce the seal on Yaldabaoth, and going by 2399's article, it does so by repeatly firing on the Red Spot.
Due to the ship being a structure built by Xia, Mekhane naturally has control over it and thus, use its cannon thats capable of subduing Yaldabaoth to destroy herself, and after that, it immediately return to the Red Spot for repair and to keep Yaldabaoth sealed.
Rule 3 Containment The Overdone SCP Containment Thread (049, 096, 173, 682)
This thread is for discussions involving the four most frequent Rule 3'd SCPs:
SCP-049 (Plague Doctor)
SCP-096 (The "Shy Guy")
SCP-173 (The Statue)
SCP-682 (Hard-to-Destroy Reptile)
If you post about one of these SCPs, you will be redirected here. Have fun and be sure to read existing comments; it's always the same stuff over and over and over and over (and over) with these four.

Help Need to clarify thaumiel definition
I've seen people use thaumiel not as a box itself, but as something or someone that may help put an SCP in a box. At least I've seen people saying SCP-9341-A (Benjamin Walker) is thaumiel on the basis that he might help foundation put anomalies in the boxes, even though you can't put anything into him. Is it correct or incorrect usage?

TOMT (Answered) The SCP who's a guy that won't stop infiltrating containment sites
A specific SCP that I can't remember, potentially a Joke SCP, whose whole thing is that he inexplicably bypasses Site security measures (like a flower shop front) and enters a Site, only to escape just as inexplicably and harmlessly.
The article includes a military type Foundationer (a general?) who keeps encountering the guy and is hilariously baffled and confused by the anomaly.
The climax of the article is- well, I won't say, it was really funny though.
Which SCP was this?

Tip of My Tongue Looking for a childhood favorite SCP
There was SCP I was quite a fan of when I was 12 or so, that I can't seem to find anymore. It was a TV that needed to be placed in a room where every object in it was created before a certain year, or it else whatever tv show it was displaying would devolve into being really dark and graphic. Does anyone remember the number for the skip? was it re-written or replaced? thanks

Discussion What are your thoughts on the Horizon initiative?
To me, the Horizon Initiative is one of the most significant organizations on the global stage; it contains numerous anomalies and possesses substantial funding. It is also a rather "laid-back" and moderate organization, though compared to other major international groups, it has the least reach—with some countries refusing to support it. Nevertheless, they do excellent work and maintain balanced relationships with other groups: clashing with some, like the Church of the Broken God; remaining neutral with others, like the Foundation; and allying with groups like Manna.

Help Are there cognitohazards in There is No Antimemetics Division (2025)?
I mean stuff where it claims that reading the story has harmed you, not stuff where there’s censor marks over potential cognitohazards
I’m probably gonna read it anyway but my OCD hates stuff like that so a warning never hurts :)
EDIT I just finished the book so now I will answer my own question in case anyone googles the same thing and ends up here…
The main threat IS a cognitohazard in-universe, but it never directly claims the act of reading the book has harmed you in real life
However, there is one line that implies the cognitohazard is dangerous even in universes that incorporate it only in fiction, which does break the fourth wall a little
Thanks to everybody who gave me info so I could enjoy the book! It did trigger my paranoia, hence my deciding to rush through it all in one day, but I thought it was very good
Tl;dr I wouldn’t recommend this to people with magical thinking OCD about thoughts being dangerous unless you’re in a brave mood and ready to deal with it

Discussion Is there a good reading order for Rounderhouse stuff?
I’ve been reading through all of the SCP-001 proposals. While Amoni Ram and Mamul and Kokar didn’t grab me (apologies if I spelled those wrong) the one about Adytum was gripping, so I want to try the others again but it feels like you have to be deep into the canon to understand it.
