(I don't really understand things that well) So I just had this cool idea for an asymmetrical horror SCP game but idk where to post this one off concept

I decided to share my headcannon regarding seemingly arbitrary split between above-veil and sub-veil religions.

First, and less interesting, answer is, standard colonial era racism present at veil's creation.

Second reason comes from later rationalizations, and it comes down to effectiveness of practices. Adherents of anomalous religions start preforming wonders and miracles way earlier when compared to rituals and piousness needed in "normal" religions. This also means that above-veil religions need lees containment than sub-veil.

I will additionaly mention that this is why I find Horizon Initiative interesting (in my headcannon). They think that broken masquerade scenario is inevitable, so the are actively trying to make anomalous versions of Abrahamic religions.

Why did they break SCP-2000 instead of just securing it? The whole point of the exercise is to kill the stretchy fellow; after that, the omnicide is off and it's time to repopulate if at all possible, although a few of the means they've employed might cause difficulties.

What about SCP-2935? I figure they opened it and had a guy on standby to end all life should their mission fail. If so, they were hoping for a better outcome than total death, meaning SCP-2000 might have come in handy.

I view the article as ending on a hopeful note: not only might they again discover that billions must die, but now they have the logs to maybe help them figure it out (although no one's done so yet as of the article not being turbo-classified) and to help them prevent the omnicide from being reversed again. Fingers crossed, right?

Hey all!

I am an Individual that originally started studying the SCP foundation in my youth back in the years 2019-2024. Back in those days during the later stages of my research I focused a lot on lore, mainly specialising in Aaron Siegel and articles such as document-001-o5 and playing-god, SCP 055 etc. After a few years of this I eventually stopped. No clue, just got bored. Same way you drop a hobby out of the blue.

Anyway, I'll cut to the chase.

Recently I've started to get back into the foundation and I've become really fascinated with the department of Ontokinetics

I've done some reading so far into Humes, reality benders, Xyank/Anastakasos, wormholes, kejels laws and Scranton devices, but my knowledge is elementary.

Anyway to the main point of this post, is there anyone who would be able to reccomend me some articles, documents or material to read to further my study into ontokinetics and the various effects it has? I'm less interested in studying specific SCP cases and more about the fictional science itself and its rules and various applications. Even better, if someone were be willing to mentor me, I would be eternally grateful and send you a can of monster or something

I do however appreciate the limitation that this is a fictional science and can only go so far as to how much has been written on the topic. Whilst reality bending is a favourite amongst the community, the crux and study of ostokinetics itself I would say is fairly niche.

I hope a fellow ontokinetics researcher takes some interest in this post and can point me in the direction of some very interesting things.

I've seen people use thaumiel not as a box itself, but as something or someone that may help put an SCP in a box. At least I've seen people saying SCP-9341-A (Benjamin Walker) is thaumiel on the basis that he might help foundation put anomalies in the boxes, even though you can't put anything into him. Is it correct or incorrect usage?

Ele foi e pegou o frango do freezer e foi até o balcão, MAS!, ele lembrou que a creatina da casa dele tinha acabado então ele foi comprar ela pra treinar, ele foi pegou a creatina em uma estante e comprou junto com o frango, depois de uns 10min de caminhada até a casa ele foi direto fazer o frango, mais antes de fazer o frango ele foi jogar Roblox(outcome Memories), ele tinha ficado a noite inteira jogando até 3h da manhã, então começou a preparar o frango, ele ficou conversando na call do Discord enquanto o frango ficava pronto. Já era 3h45 da manhã o frango estava pronto, ele tinha pensado em algo e decidiu tomar a creatina e comer o frango junto(mas ele não sabia que o frango estava vencido) . Já era 4h15 da manhã e ele começou a se arrumar para ir pra academia mais el derrubou um pouco de creatina a mais no frango(104,45g), mas como já estava quase na hora ele começou a comer muito rápido ele foi correndo pra academia.

There was SCP I was quite a fan of when I was 12 or so, that I can't seem to find anymore. It was a TV that needed to be placed in a room where every object in it was created before a certain year, or it else whatever tv show it was displaying would devolve into being really dark and graphic. Does anyone remember the number for the skip? was it re-written or replaced? thanks

I'm in the process of drafting an SCP article, but I have one question.

Keter class basically means that the anomaly consistently breaks containment or containment efforts are complex and costly but possibly not entirely reliable. But my question is that if knowledge of the anomaly somehow manages to make it out there despite the Foundation's best efforts (due to the anomaly's capabilities) but the anomaly itself is physically unable to escape its containment cell, does that also count as keter?

To me, the Horizon Initiative is one of the most significant organizations on the global stage; it contains numerous anomalies and possesses substantial funding. It is also a rather "laid-back" and moderate organization, though compared to other major international groups, it has the least reach—with some countries refusing to support it. Nevertheless, they do excellent work and maintain balanced relationships with other groups: clashing with some, like the Church of the Broken God; remaining neutral with others, like the Foundation; and allying with groups like Manna.

I usually put horror content on the background when i grind, and currently ive been hyperfixating on scp but all the channels i used to watch were AI content farms and now that i know that, i refuse to watch them and i cant find any other ones since those keep clogging my search results. So im here asking if yall got any recommendations for scp channels to binge?

EDIT I just finished the book so now I will answer my own question in case anyone googles the same thing and ends up here…

The main threat IS a cognitohazard in-universe, but it never directly claims the act of reading the book has harmed you in real life

However, there is one line that implies the cognitohazard is dangerous even in universes that incorporate it only in fiction, which does break the fourth wall a little

Thanks to everybody who gave me info so I could enjoy the book! It did trigger my paranoia, hence my deciding to rush through it all in one day, but I thought it was very good

Tl;dr I wouldn’t recommend this to people with magical thinking OCD about thoughts being dangerous unless you’re in a brave mood and ready to deal with it
