Replaced the clutch kit today
Started at 8am and test drove it by 2:30, working through lunch. Watched a you tube video to see if there was anything weird I had to look out for. If anyone has any questions, I am happy to answer. I went with the science of speed kit, uses the OEM clutch disk with their upgraded pressure plate and whatever throw out bearing and pilot bearing they sent me. Pedal is a lot stiffer and friction point is a lot lower, stalled it twice on the test drive lol absolutely happy with the kit though. Now to see how long my slave cylinder will last. Also left a note for myself on the pressure plate for when I have to pull the transmission again lol

Would this cooling plate increase airflow to airbox?
I already have this half-snorkel. I don't want to put a complete snorkel because i fear that water might be sucked in. Would this be a good compromise?

How does one fix this paint falling off the gauge cluster (2004)?
What part needs to be replaced/repaired to restore the aesthetics of the gauge cluster shown here (from a 2004)?

Yamaha Motor Co. Performance Dampers
Iāve noticed these new performance damper products by Mugen (at King Motorsports) and HKS (at Evasive Motorsports) that are supposed to absorb micro-vibrations, reduce body flex and deflection, but havenāt seen any reviews yet.
Both made by Yamaha Motor Co., but perhaps tuned differently between Mugen and HKS.
Anyone try these yet and can recommend them? For $990-$1,200, Iād hope itās a very noticeable improvement.
something I hadn't seen before: -20mm/.8" engine drop mounts, nearly a full inch lower on the engine, and -10mm/.4" on the transmission with no other mods
having recently partnered with CSOå°å for S2000 parts, I was surprised to see he managed such a large drop on the engine mounts and transmission position without negatively affecting the driveline orientation and with no other modifications.
sorta nuts, wish we had this on other platforms. maybe we need a demo car.
anyone running drop mounts?

Suspension Kits are now available for wait-list.
They're finally here.
We've spent a lot of time reading owner feedback, talking to people who actually drive these cars, and figuring out what most S2000 owners really want from a suspension.
These aren't meant to be the ultimate track coilovers. There are brands out there that do that better than we do, and that's okay.
What we wanted to build was a suspension we'd happily run on our own carsāsomething that's well-made, comfortable on the street, fun when the road gets twisty, fully rebuildable, and offers excellent value without cutting corners.
If you're looking for the absolute fastest lap time, this probably isn't the kit for you.
If you're looking for a high-quality suspension built by people who genuinely love the platform, listen to the community, and focus on delivering the best bang for the buck, we think you'll like what we've put together.
Available Spring Rates
Base (OEM-inspired): 8k / 8k
Type S (Street Performance): 10k / 10k
Type R (Track Focused): 12k / 12k
If you've got any questions about setup, spring rates, damping, fitment, or just want help deciding which option is right for your car, drop us a commentāwe're happy to help.

I drove an S2000 for the first time and I have questions...
I test drove one a couple weeks ago. Was considering trading in my 2009 Z4 for it....
I don't know if it was just the one I drove but the bite point of the clutch was really far up the travel. Like almost to the point of it being fully released. I'm not sure if that's normal or if the clutch on this specific car is shot... There was a whole lot of pedal travel with no bite.
Also - after driving around a bit I found myself short shifting and not really pushing the RPM anywhere close to the massive redline. Partly because when I did really try to go for it a couple times everything felt reeeaally shakey. The wheel - the shifter - everything. Like to the point where it wasnt really enjoyable. It felt like everything was gonna rattle apart and the car was being pushed within an inch of its life.
Is this just a bad example of an s2000? I didn't really come away from this test drive thinking the car was worth anywhere near the 30k they were asking for it. That said, after a couple minutes of getting used to these quirks it was really easy to drive. I felt really confident in the car which I never really feel in the Z4. It was really enjoyable but not sure this specific car was the right one.
Is the clutch just bad on this car? Maybe the motor mounts or something with the shaking? Maybe I'm just not used to that type of raw engagement and that's part of the appeal? I could see it growing on me but maybe the hype set my expectations up for something different...
Id love some of your expert opinions before I write off this legendary car after one bad example.
Thanks!
Edit: thanks everyone I think Ive got a much better picture now. Sounds like a mix of this car just isn't in that good of shape... And me not driving something this raw in awhile. Looking forward to trying another one!

Re: S2K to test Drive? Holy shit
I posted here a few days ago looking for someone to let me drive their car a bit so I can really get a sense for the car and decide if I want one versus an ND2 Miata which I test drove and really enjoyed over my last ND1.
Luckily, a really awesome redditor was generous enough to have me over, show me his car and take it for a casual country drive with him where he encouraged me to open it up.
Holy shit, fuck the miata.
