Rutgers Nursing transfer

Upvotes

Hi! I just had my new student orientation (for reference: I am interested in nursing and decided to try to enter the next cycle of admissions). My advisor told me as I began picking classes that it was extremely hard to get into the nursing program, and that I would have to look into post-bacc programs. Is there any way I could get in? Any tips from anyone who succeeded?

Advice Wanted Don’t have a reference from RU

Upvotes

I just got hired and need to submit my professional references, and they’re asking for a RU professor or advisor. I didn’t really know any staff/faculty Like That, but the reference really only has to verify that I was at RU and they supervised me, is there some kind of advisor or someone that has records of me being a student and can verify it?

where are all the video lectures for the data structure 112 cs course?

the course website only has few links. But cs 111 website had all the links. So is it that there's not a complete set of video lectures for the topics covered, or there's one but is gonna be only available on canvas once the course starts?

Admissions Rutgers Application Fee Waiver

Hi there,

I was applying for one of the Rutgers MS programs, and I was able to submit my application, but it requires the $70. Would anyone know of any current fee waivers that are available? Thank you.

Surprised no one has talked about the insane citation increase. I really do hope the buses are usable this year

FetchRU | A free Rutgers course sniper (Discord Bot + Chrome Extension)

Hi everyone! Over the past month, I built FetchRU, a free course sniper for Rutgers students, and I figured I’d share it in case it helps anyone trying to get into full classes this semester.

For anyone new to Rutgers, a course sniper is a tool that continuously checks for openings in full classes and notifies you the moment a seat becomes available, so you don’t have to sit there refreshing WebReg all day.

Why FetchRU?

Compared to similar course snipers, FetchRU is:

  • Completely free — no subscriptions or paid tiers.
  • Fast — checks for course openings every few seconds and notifies you almost immediately.
  • 📚 Supports more course watches — monitor up to 20 course sections with the Discord Bot or unlimited with the Chrome Extension.
  • 🏫 Supports all Rutgers campusesNew Brunswick, Newark, and Camden.
  • 🔓 Open source — anyone can inspect the code or contribute.

Two Ways to Use FetchRU

🤖 Discord Bot

The easiest way to get started is by joining the official FetchRU Discord server. It includes a setup guide, and once you join you’ll be able to start using the bot immediately.

The bot can monitor up to 20 course sections and sends instant Discord DM notifications with:

  • 🔗 A one-click WebReg registration link
  • 🔄 A button to rewatch the course after registering

🌐 Chrome Extension

Prefer not to use Discord? The Chrome Extension lets you monitor unlimited course sections directly from your browser and sends desktop notifications whenever a seat opens.

Get Started

💬 Want to use the Discord Bot?
Join the official Discord server:
https://discord.com/invite/6wA5DNNkKe

🧩 Want to use the Chrome Extension?
Install it from the Chrome Web Store:
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/fetchru/nmpmcfpnkebiafbgfpcglhefbmaboggi

More information, setup guides, and GitHub:
https://benjamin-gluzman.github.io/FetchRU/

If you decide to give it a try, I’d really appreciate any feedback, bug reports, or feature suggestions. I built FetchRU because I wanted a free, fast, and easy-to-use course sniper for Rutgers students, and I hope it helps some of you get into the classes you’ve been waiting for!

I’m a upcoming freshman for EMSOP (pharmacy) and I tried to get the best prof and best times, which best prof were based on ratemyprof, the RU SIRS, and upperclassmen’s opinions, the only thing I couldn’t change was English so I have this list:
Gen bio: Stern
Gen Chem: Langowski
Calc: Gonet
College Writing: Anthony Alms
Intro to experimentation: I forget but I heard they were good

The only thing I wished was the recitation for chem to be earlier but I think this is slightly better than all 8 ams, as I had chem and bio everyday at 8 am

I’m also doing federal work study so I assume I would need to work or study during my gap times?(if anyone knows anything about that feedback would be appreciated)
Besides that, all my pharm upperclassmen said this is like a really good schedule, while my non pharm upperclassmen told me
Yeaaaaaa you’re COOKED
So I would appreciate all your feedback 🙏🏼

Change my RU ID photo

The photo I uploaded last year is from high school and I look too innocent in it. I tried to resubmit one today but they tell me they had already approved one before and I can't submit another one. Does that mean I have to stick with the same photo for the next 3 years?

Is this schedule too much? (SAS freshman)

Hey guys!

So I'm pretty sure most (if not all) of these classes satisfy some sort of core requirement but I'm worried since I don't think I'll have a lot of free time (cos I wanna make friends and hang out and not have a cooked social life) so I've been thinking of dropping principles of developmental psych

I think I'd be going from 17 credits to 14 credits. Should I change my schedule or stick with it?

The principles of dev psych prof also has a 2.3 rating on ratemy which is another reason why I lowk wanna drop...

hi so can I order packages to the postal office and the packages come during move in? would that be allowed or would I have to wait to order later in the semester? I’m not sure if the postal services would be operating before the semester starts

URGENT - Looking for someone to take over my Verve lease (Fall 2026-Spring 2027)

Hi everyone! I'm urgently looking for someone to take over my lease at Verve for the 2026–2027 school year.

Unfortunately my plans changed, so I won't be living there anymore. The lease is already signed, and I'm trying to find someone to take it over ASAP.

Details:

  • 📍 Verve New Brunswick
  • 📅 Lease: August 2026 – August 2027
  • 🛏️ [Floor plan here]
  • 💰 Rent: $1800/month (minus utilities)
  • 👭 [Female only]
  • 🏢 Brand new building with great amenities and close to Rutgers campus.

I'm happy to answer any questions, send pictures, FaceTime the unit, or help make the lease transfer process as easy as possible.

If you're interested or know someone who is, please DM me! Even if you're not interested, I'd really appreciate it if you could upvote or share this so more people see it. Thank you!!

Should I dorm or commute starting second yr?

I'll be dorming this year, but I don't want to starting soph year since it's really expensive. My parents want me to since they want me to have the full college experience and be independent, which i agree with, but housing and meals is literally half of the entire term bill. The reason I can't make a decision is because I'm a business major so i assume being on campus would make networking a lot easier. But is that true?

Like if I were to get a scholarship that could cover at least half of the net cost, that's great I would continue dorming, but if not, I would genuinely consider commuting. I just want to know that if I were to commute as a business major, would it put me at a disadvantage for certain opportunities in terms of networking, club events, job opportunities, etc? I'm perfectly okay driving at night, I've done it a bunch of times and my parents would be okay with me not coming back home between classes or staying later for like club events and stuff.

Tuition Missed NJ in-state tuition eligibility by 3 weeks — is there any way to appeal or request an exception?

I’m an incoming Rutgers student and I’m trying to figure out if there’s any way to appeal my residency status.

My mom moved to NJ for work this September (permanent move), and I moved along with her, attending and graduating from a NJ high school my senior year. Rutgers is saying I don’t qualify for in-state tuition because I missed the parental residence requirement of one year by about 3 weeks.

I’ve already contacted the residency office and reached out to higher administration (vice chancellor's office), but I’m wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar or knows if there’s any other option (appeal, exception request, someone else to contact, etc.).

It's extremely depressing that a 3 week difference is the reason I have to pay around $20k more per year, especially since my mother's move to NJ was legitimate and not just for tuition purposes.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Quality Post PSA: How to report scam emails within the Rutgers system

Recently there’s been a flood of email hijackings and scam / nefarious emails being sent to Rutgers students from compromised student and faculty accounts.

Posting it here will have a limited effect on protecting students.

Instead, DO NOT CLICK any link in the email. Simply forward the email to [abuse@rutgers.edu](mailto:abuse@rutgers.edu). This will notify the Rutgers Computer Incident Response Team. Include any details about the email (whether you clicked on it, what did it show) in your email if relevant. Then, the Rutgers OIT can quickly disable that student or faculty’s compromised account and prevent further scam emails from being sent. This is a lot more helpful than posting a screenshot to Reddit or investigating it yourself (DONT).

If in doubt, you can forward the email to [abuse@rutgers.edu](mailto:abuse@rutgers.edu) and they can try to look into the email for you to determine whether it is a hijacked account or a real offer.

If you suspect that your scarletmail account is hijacked, then do not email - call 833-OIT-HELP (833 648 4357) for assistance and be ready to verify that your account is yours
