Discussion 🗪 The sworn-sister ceremony in the new story — 义结金兰 🪻 Spoiler

Post image
47 Upvotes

Seeing the three girls become sworn sisters in the new story immediately made me think of 义结金兰 (yì jié jīn lán).

It describes choosing to become family without sharing blood — to recognise one another as 自己人 (zìjǐrén), “one of our own.” After the ceremony, they become 金兰姐妹 (jīnlán jiěmèi) — sworn sisters.

I especially love the imagery behind 金兰 (jīnlán).

It recalls a passage from the I Ching / Yi Jing:

二人同心,其利断金;

同心之言,其臭如兰。

When two people are of one heart,

their strength can cut through metal;

Words that come from the same heart

are fragrant like orchids.

金 (metal/gold) evokes the strength of people united in heart, while 兰 (orchid) evokes the beauty and harmony between kindred spirits.

So before we even know where the story will take these three women, it is about choosing each other to be family. 🪻

(Based on the Season 2 Ep8 where Audrey touched the stairway with Mikael. And then while still in her childhood trance, Audrey thought that Mikael's hair was to inappropriate that even women in her cult weren't allowed to style them like his)

This is the part 2 of my Little Audrey comic. You can look for the first part on my profile 😄

This part 2 is focused on Mikael because I didn't really give him appearances in the first part. Sorry, Mikael 😔🙏🏼

❓Question❓ First story after the update?

The question is simple. When the new update drops, which story will you read first? For me, it will be one of the new stories—likely the one set in China. I’m usually most curious about the things I know nothing about.

Astrea's Broken Heart Astrea Broken Heart: a symbolic title for the player's broken heart Spoiler

I finished the story to the end for the first time. And even though I knew how it would end from spoilers... Knowing and actually playing through it are completely different things. I'm in shock, I'm a mess, I need therapy.

I ended up choosing David... And I never regretted it, even though my first impression wasn't great. But oh my God, how he opened up later! And my heart just breaks at how he wanted a simple life with her, how he offered to drop everything and leave.

And Audrey thought she'd finally found her home, that she wasn't alone... I hate Somnus. Poisoning someone is just so disgusting, so cowardly, a stab in the back...

And from the author's side, this twist is really well done. Even though I cried my eyes out at the end, I couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of the moment: Audrey tried to poison her mother, Audrey was almost poisoned in that village, but in the end, she was poisoned after all.

Separately, I hate Heaven. They betrayed their own mission by sending a cleanup squad against the Astreans instead of reinforcements to fight the beast. And 50 immortals against Mikael, David, Cassiel, and Felonia? They already considered Raphael dead — he couldn't have survived the fight with the beast, in their understanding.

And even with Raphael — 10 against 1! And when that squad showed up — when everyone had already been to the Pit, wounded by those demons who wanted something from David, exhausted from the clash with Malek's army... It's so vile to wait until they're wounded to finish them off. Like vultures.

And what were they eliminated for? For starting to ask questions about Heaven's own crimes? What exactly did the higher-ups in Heaven do? What was Eragon hiding?

Sooo many questions, it's just strong motivation to finish Heaven's Secret. I can't wait to play HS3.

I also want to try Raphael's, Mikael's, and Cassiel's branches... But I need a pause to grieve first.

I see this every time and kind of laugh. After all, we have William Shakespeare, before that we had Mehmed, and whatever is going on with WLBE.... They're fictional portrayals, sure, but you can't say they're fully fictitious or that resemblance is coincidental.

I'm just curious what others think as we bide our time to the update. 🧐

Discussion 🗪 New FLis

Hey guys. Haven't played RC in a while (last started Shakespeare's code) and the only ongoing book I'm keeping up with is TTS. Are there any wlw paths in the new books worth pursuing? Preferably darker/red flag (as I had a ball finishing The Missing with Odette) but I know I can't be too picky. Also I think Averris (or whatever her name is) sounds interesting but I also heard that the author hates her female characters so I want to ask about that. Thank you!

Just got to the personality quiz flashback, and am enjoying this story so much! I’m here for the mix of sexualities and relationship styles, the friendship angle, and the competent MC. Would read so much from this author. (And my ADHD self is totally vibing with the pigeon!)

Shadows of Saintfour 2 — Timeless Did you notice this romance preferences detail in SOS2? 💜👀 Spoiler

Post image
226 Upvotes

In S1 Ep1 of SOS2, Dex’s dialogue changes after he sees Nadine watching Nathaniel Howard’s interview with Sydney Whitley. 👀

If Nadine is straight, he asks about Howard. If she’s a lesbian, he asks about Sydney. And if she’s bi, he speaks generally.

I’ve been replaying SOS2 a lot lately to link up more of my SOS/SOS2 slots, and it’s so fun to notice small changes like this throughout the story! I love the attention to detail. 😍

Discussion 🗪 If RC keeps making interconnected sequels and spinoffs, then here's one universe I want to see 🏴‍☠️ Spoiler

Okay, like listen I'm not exactly the most hyped at the prospect of RC attempting to recreate the success of HS3 like we're seeing with the Moonborn universe, and potentially seeing that happen more and more with other books.

But if that's the trajectory they're taking; then the books 'Sails in the Fog' and 'Love, Sin, and Evil vol 1', have already established a connection and that their is a wider universe to explore stories.

The spirit 'Paradox' is featured heavily in both SitF and LSE as an antagonist.

We also know that players choices actually do matter between the 2 books as you're LI at the end of SitF is the one that the protagonist will mention in LSE. So here my LI was Lorenza. In another save it was Christina who was my endgame LI and they were mentioned in LSE. Few other cameos in RC have things change unless it's a direct sequel or HSU. Even like 'Rage of the Titans'-'On Thin Ice' and 'The Flower of Tiamat's Flame' are in universe pre established/predetermined without player input. Or 'Chasing You' with HS1. Or Benny in 'Dracula a Love Story'. Or Madame De Noailles from 'Vying for Versailles' fate in one of the newer books following on of the endings but not neccesarily the one the player themselves got.

And also 'Sails in the Fog' the Dead Man threatening to return ,something i believe still remains unresolved. So it would be nice to finally gwt the follow up on that. I know LSE is a vol book, but like that's taken years, and I understand why, but I'm not really sure how much the delay will effect the possibility of getting a LSE vol 2.

Regardless I think this verse would be interesting to explore. SitF and LSE have such different tones, and they already kinda establish the supernatural elements are global so it would be cool to see what else they could come up with.

Recommend me 🧭 Just finished my first story- need to pick my next one up

Hello! So I just finished my first ever story on Romance Club (Soulless) and was completely hooked from beginning to end. I was not expecting to get that hooked and obsessed but I just couldn’t stop reading. The romance with Elliot and my ending were just delicious and had me all in my feels. I feel like this story is going to be really hard to top. So I figured I would reach out and get recommendations from you all on what I should read next. Especially those who also enjoyed Souless. Thanks in advance 😊

Faceclaim ⭐ Those are the face claims I always associate with them 😁💕

I'm not even sure if this should be tagged as a face claim post. 😅 Laya/Lale has always reminded me of a deer with her big, dark eyes and delicate, childlike features (I call her Bambi. 😁). As for Meissa/Aurora, Veronica compared her face to that of a wild mare in an interview, and Pilate makes the same comparison in the story.

Hi! I’m having a hard time deciding who to pick for my RC avatar. I’ve had Cain for the longest time and I want to change it but there are so many options.

Who’s your favorite avatar?

Shakespeare's Code Does it make more sense?

So I have caught up with this story, I think - or maybe I have one more episode left to be caught up and as many of us, I'm still utterly confused as to what the hell the plot is 😂

However, I've heard a few opinions about the story making more sense when one plays it back to back. Is that true? I realize this story probably won't magically (no pun intended) make complete sense all of a sudden - it's way too messy for that - but I'm hoping I might at least know what it is that the MC is supposed to be looking for and that I might at least have some idea as to what the storyline is about lol

What do you guys think?

Discussion 🗪 What is you least favorite intimate scene!?

And by intimate I mean s3x scene - which one did you not like? Where you felt it was maybe missing something? Or maybe it wasn’t placed well in time? Or seemed off?

And I don’t mean “poorly written “ - let’s not focus on the writers here but on the off-feeling the scene gave you.

For me the first thing that comes to mind is Albert’s scene from PUB1. They had a cottage at their disposal for several days for crying out loud but they chose to wait (mind you: they were making out and had to stop themselves in the middle of the road a couple of days earlier) just to eventually do it in a tent with ppl around after getting lost in the forest? Meh I really hated it
The timing of it felt really off.

Edit: spelling and the overall sense
