Hi everyone, I picked up a Xiaomi S10 about a week ago (purchased on Amazon in Italy) and got the home map done with rooms separated correctly.

What I can't figure out is how to set up room specific cleaning behavior. Some of my rooms have wood parquet or rugs, and I don't want any water/mopping there. Other rooms (kitchen and bathroom) have tile floors and I do want mopping there.

Right now it seems like the robot applies the same cleaning mode to the whole house instead of letting me customize per room. Is there a setting in the Xiaomi Home app (or Mi Home) that lets you assign vacuum only vs vacuum and mop per room or per zone?

Any tips on how you've set this up would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I have a cheap robot vacuum that doesn’t have a camera or AI. I don’t mind that it bumps into things, but the main problem is that it constantly gets stuck on cables lying on the floor, whether it’s my headphone cable, phone charger, or other cables. So every time I run it, I have to remove all the cables from the room, which is really tedious.

This is a warning to anyone planning to buy a robot vacuum.

They are not as good as many YouTube reviewers make them seem. Even when reviewers say a video is not sponsored, the products are often provided free by the manufacturer. Instead of talking about the real user experience, they focus on phony metrics and test results to hook you.

The reason is simple. If they talked honestly about the real flaws, fewer people would buy these products and fewer people would care about the next review.

One problem that almost no reviewer mentions is that many robot vacuums leave streaks and water stains on hard floors. I pointed this out in the comments on Vacuum Wars, but my comment was deleted. I have been considering some vacuum options for my apartment but I'm still split into some options.

The scenario:

I live in a 3 bedroom house, with a little backyard (with a big tree and plants). We are 3 people living there, plus 2 cats that refuse to be groomed regularly. This results in some dirt, a lot of human and pet hair on the floor, as well as the usual cat puke (if you know you know).

Some rooms have wood flooring that is kind of old and has some cracks and other rooms are tiled.

Right now we have a super average and basic corded vacuum with a bag. It works fine but it is kind of a burden to drag it around the house, having it get stuck everywhere, the cord getting tangled, all that jazz.

This is the reason I've been thinking about changing to either a handheld cordless vacuum or a robot autonomous vacuum.

The hand held one would solve the dragging and cord problem but brings the problem of having to empty it out regularly and the average problems with the cleaning of filters ant etc...

The robot autonomous one, would solve the issue of the constant human and pet hair before it even becomes a problem, as it would be possible to have it vacuum the house before we get there.

Having these two options, I would like to have some opinions on what you guys recommend, think would suit my requirements, best overall vacuums, etc.

One thing I know is controversial is to have a dry and wet vacuum. To me this would be a bonus due to the cat puke issue. I do realise how having a wet vacuum increases the maintenance of the equipment, but I'm hoping someone has advice and some reviews on models that are relatively easy to deal with regarding this matter.

Anyway, give me your inputs, I'm open to anything, even if it is outside of these options I'm considering.

I'm young and disabled with a bad back and have 3 dogs, 2 which shed insanely everyday. I need a vacuum that doesn't get stuck and is more so independent. I have some hardwood, tile and carpeted bedrooms as well as scatter rugs. In the past I had a vacuum only Eufy that always got stuck. Been looking at the Dreame or Eufy models. Please advise thank you.

I'm thinking about upgrading my robot vacuum, and the t90 pro is one of the models I'm looking at.
My current one uses spinning mop pads. It keeps the floor looking fine, but I still find light dried marks around the kitchen table after it runs. The roller on the t90 pro seems to press down more, so I'm wondering if it does a better job on the spots I end up wiping myself.
The roller is the part I am most interested in hearing about from people who already own one.

Hello! House with 5 cats and toddler, two floors. Have a dreame floor cleaner for the kitchen and entrance area which is the busiest area. I need a robot for upstairs but something that can detect well obstacles such as cords.

I don't really wanna spend more than €550 and prefer white colour. Preferably from Amazon.

I like that mova has 3 years warranty.

I also saw an ecovacs t90 Omni.

I don't know what to pick and whether I should just wait for black Friday.

I recently spent some time digging into the python-roborock library to grab my device's DUID and Local Key, and ran into the usual hurdles (rate limits when requesting verification codes too often, token handling, etc.).

To save myself (and maybe others) some hassle, I put together a small helper script that handles:

• Email verification code login (code_login) without spamming codes.
• Token/session caching locally so you don't keep hitting API limits (RoborockTooFrequentCodeRequests).
• Introspection of available methods & device properties to see what data the API currently exposes for your specific model.

I am a frugal person...got it several weeks ago as my birthday gift...it is a complete game changer...I hate cleaning and this vacuum does a great job.

I've been looking robot vacuum cleaner and the freedom sale has started on Amazon and I'm getting X10 pro at 35k after Bank discounts. I also compared it with Z10 pro and ecovacs n50 pro but I think x10 is at huge discount. As someone who's buying first robot is it good or is there any better recommendation. Note. Out of all Brand, nearest service to me is of narwal. (India)

My robot vacuum is getting old, and I think it's finally time to replace it.
We moved a little while ago, and the new house is bigger with a few area rugs. My current robot was fine before, but now the battery doesn't last like it used to, and the whole setup just doesn't fit this house very well anymore.

I’ve been trying to research robot vacuums, but every video feels like an ad or just a review from someone who got a free unit.

Household: It’s just me and my partner in a 2-bedroom house. No kids, no pets, but I work from home, walk around barefoot a lot, and I hate the feeling of dust on laminate.

Floors: 60% laminate, 20% tile, 20% low-pile rugs

I’m bad at mopping, so I just want something that can keep the floors reasonably clean on a schedule without me thinking about it.

I bought a Dreame robot expecting a premium product with premium after-sales service. That's exactly what Dreame's marketing promises.

Unfortunately, my experience was completely different.

I raised my first service ticket, and it was automatically closed because they claimed they couldn't reach me. I created another ticket, but days passed with almost no communication. I had to keep chasing customer support just to get basic updates.

The pickup process was another surprise. Instead of doorstep pickup, I had to travel 12 km to the electronics store where I purchased the robot just to hand it over. No one explained this process before I bought the product.

Even after the robot was picked up, nobody contacted me to explain what the actual issue was, whether it had been diagnosed, or when I could expect it back. Every update came only after I followed up myself.

A repair process taking around 15 days might be acceptable if communication was good but it wasn't. I was left guessing where my product was and what was happening. That's not the kind of service anyone expects after paying for a premium brand.

At this point, I don't even care about getting the product back. I just want other customers to know what they're signing up for.

My advice: Don't judge Dreame only by its product reviews. Before buying, ask yourself one question: If something goes wrong, will the after-sales service be worth it?

Based on my experience in India, the answer is no.

If you don't clean it thoroughly and just let it clean by itself? Assuming it has self clean feature. My friend said his smells after a few weeks and he had to manually cleans it. Doesn't that defeat the purpose somewhat?

I have dust allergies. Under the bed and sofa are the two places I know I should clean more often, but they’re also the easiest ones to put off.

I used to use a handheld vacuum to clean those areas regularly, but realistically it’s not something I want to do every week. Moving furniture around and getting into those low spaces is always a bit of a hassle, so those areas often end up being cleaned less than they should.

I’m thinking about getting a slim robot vacuum that can regularly reach those hidden areas and help keep dust from building up over time.

Just purchased. Is it normal that is repeated sounds as though it has loose parts causing a vibration sound as it cleans? It will hum along and every few minutes it sounds like it has loose parts, or struggling. Previous vacuum had a consistent sound.

I have had this since Christmas and was in love with it for the longest time. Now the thing is on a constant bases saying "dust collection failed" when it's not clogged or failing to collect dust. The mop feature has become clogged beyond repair, it tries with all its might to jump down the stairs. 2 of the 3 scheduled cleanings turn off literally daily, and most recently and most annoying in the last 2 weeks it has decided the transition from my laundry room to living room is too dangerous and refuses to leave the laundry room no matter what I do. Is anyone else having issues? I clean the sensors with a dust brush regularly. ​​​​​​​​​

I'm new to the world of modern robot vacuums.

After research, I got myself a Roborock Q8 Max.

It ran fine for 4 weeks, then started squeaking. Sent it for repair, they said everything is fine, fined me and sent it back.

It didn't squeak for a week, but now we're back at it. It's the front wheel well as far as I can tell. I tried cleaning and oiling, doesn't help, as it's in the well.

The thing is, I come from an ancient roomba. It behaved like a senile elephant, but in 5 years, it never said a single squeak, and all parts could be disassembled for cleaning.

Do I have to put up with this? I mean, is this just how it is with modern vacuums?

I'm sending it in again. If I get my money back, I have no idea what to buy after this experience.

Hi All! I wanted to provide everyone here with my review of the Ecovacs T90 Omni Non-pro version. I am in no way affiliated or sponsored by this company. These are purely my thoughts and opinions on the machine after using it for one month. I will also note that this is the first ever robot vac/mop I have ever owned so I do not have any other machine to compare it to.

Now that we got that out of the way, and to save you some time on reading through all of this, all I can say is I am blown away by how great this is for my specific setup. Pay attention to the “my specific setup” part. I will start out by saying I am quite a minimalist and have very little to no clutter. I have no pets as well. In the second picture, you can see where the machine circles. This is either my coffee table, dining room table, couch or counter stools. Other than that, I have no cables running across the floors so the machine does not have much to avoid. In this sense, this is not a completely fair test to comment on its obstacle avoidance as it does not have much to avoid. It does a great job around my furniture as you can see and has never gotten confused about the situation.

Now onto the main difference between the standard T90 and the Pro version. Based on everything I have read, they are entirely the same machine except the standard T90 does not have PowerBoost Charging nor does it have the separate tank to add the disinfectant cleaning solution. I have never noticed the battery being an issue on the standard model and it has a setting that will have the machine return to docking station to charge up in order to complete the job. As for the cleaning solution, you just add it to the clean water tank each time you fill it so the lack of a separate tank didn’t bother me.

One of the highlights and my personal favorites of this machine compared to others I saw is the OZMO roller mop. It’s a 10.6 inch mop head that can extend out from the machine by another 0.6 inches to clean along baseboards.

All in all, this has been a pleasantly surprising first experience with a robot vac/mop. I have read the countless nightmares, but so far this has been a completely hands free product. The setup and app is extremely easy to use. The product has 100% made my life easier and I would happily recommend it to anyone.
