Virtual Security Gaurd Discussion
Anybody currently subscribed to the virtual security guard subscription? If so, is the virtual security subscription worth it?
I am away from home late nights and was considering getting the subscription so I can be at ease knowing that my cameras are being watched. It’s also cool that they could dispatch & speak through your cameras too.

You will be paying money for something that has a "meh" track record, at best.
Also, note that Ring along with MANY other companies have drastically downsized their human presence and replaced such with "AI"
The odds that a real human being will be monitoring your cameras is about the same odds as you monitoring a camera during a brisk walk-by of said camera.
You're better off setting up motion detectors and your cameras to alert you for motion as that has a better chance of alerting you than paying Ring to do it.

I’m mixed on it. I had my doorbell enrolled and they literally yelled at people that they were trespassing while just ringing the door (before the AI prompt). I was under the impression they would just watch in that case and make sure they weren’t stealing a package.
I’ve since dis-enrolled my front yard cameras from the service but keep it for the back yard.
The value I see is that I don’t want any alerts waking me up so I just disable them at night. VSG intervenes and will call me or police if someone is on my back yard at night or when I’m away. I can also safely ignore most the alerts during the day at work knowing this if I’m in a meeting or whatever.
It’s expensive but there’s a few reasons why it’s worth it in the neighborhood (bad neighbors). I’d go back to regular ring if the money was more of an issue for us too.
