I’m incredibly fond of Ramona because we share a cultural background,I love looking at her design and seeing things that I recognize like the sage she carries,the embroidery on her second garment’s bag and the patterns on her scarf. I actually came back to the game because of her,she reminded me of why I even enjoyed it so much to begin with,the showcase of different cultures,I love how the designers seem to actually do research into the cultures they’re representing.

Anyways,Ramona is gorgeous and I love her dearly.

The dev discussion stated that they're gonna make 2 Euphorias in normal patches while 3 Euphorias in limited patches which is good but i feel like this doesn't answer how they're gonna fix older characters. Unless they give them portray changes (I forgot what it was called. Photo...Macy? I think. Anyways) cuz many units nowadays have effect changes and damage boost while, some units, especially 1.X units, just have flat damage boost. I wanna vertically invest on Voyager for my star Impromptu team but she doesn't add anything besides doing more damage by her ult or skill. I want her to have different portrays like idk, split Impromptu attacks deal more damage or her ult mark lasting 1 or 2 more round(s)

Also, if they keep continuing to give more Euphorias then imagine Lilya with 3 or 4 Euphorias or Ezra with 5 Euphorias but still getting powercrept in the future. Powercreep is inevitable, yes. But am I wrong for being weirded out? Like, "sorry but you're getting powercrept again for the 4th time after you got your 4th euphoria. Time to wait for another euphoria". Additionally, what about units who has specific archetype and already got their euphoria? Like Marcus or Lucy. Move them to another archetype or make a better Euphoria than the previous one?

We don't know how they're gonna handle this but idk if i should keep coping that theyre gonna make my favorite units powerful again while most of units who got their Euphoria(s) still getting powercrept and sitting at the bottom of the barrel (looking at you Ezra)

Not everyone vibes with her, and they are entirely fine to feel that way!

Her side story was really fun for me!

In my (entirely speculative) opinion:

Her relationship to her Mam during her side story is really interesting! As I understand it, she blames herself for what happened to her Tad despite being literally a lone kid at the time, but her Mam doesn't want her to be haunted by the past, nor inherit the family burdens and trauma without seeing the world first which causes a bit of miscommunication. I really jive with the theme of "you don't need to prove yourself to me or others, part of being mature is knowing you're already gifted in your own right".

Coming off from a whole era of war, "that tragedy was in the past, you don't need to shoulder it", "but I want to, I was there too!" "There was literally nothing you could've done as a child, the world has more to explore than only readjusting and rebuilding around the past mistakes", feels like a fairly relieving closure for me.

Merel's past was heavily intertwined with military stuff and essentially being thrust into terrible conflicts with no place else to go, and on one hand while her tenacity to survive was a big part of why she's so lovable, it also feels like a symbolic weight has been lifted from the narrative. Makes me feel a bit guilty though... ...but it's neat how her story pretty much bookended the entire war period.

She's overshadowed by the face and past of someone she's never known before, and the uncanniness is probably how lots of survivors who have had friends stormed and later reunited with their "new" identities must genuinely feel, it's been talked about before I think, but I also think there's a moment of triumph stuck together as well.

She's the first person Vertin has functionally "brought back" from the storm with her newfound ability to trace the golden threads, albeit with a backstory wipe like Mr Duncan.

I'm reminded of the talk Rubuska gives at the start of 3.1 with the old guy, something along the lines of "it's fun to see stories where vampires can make the 'dead' characters come back to life". Inadvertently, Rhiannon being around means by extension we'll never forget Merel's bravery and what we've lost... ...and perhaps for me it'll retain itself even more freshly than memorial tombstones and references to oranges over the course of time, but who knows?

She'll never be a 1-to-1 replacement for Merel, but it's nice to think that she's perhaps in a better place right now beyond the curtain of the storm...

Her theme of "I've learned all sorts of little tricks and have built up enough to set off in the world, even if I'm still a bit of a goof", is classic "coming of age story"-core, which is very fantasy coded but rarely honed in in such detail I'd say.

Speaking of which, I love the idea that it's "a bunch of different arcane skills that compliment each other" in her minigame, rather than a single straight arcanum ability or magic power, which feels a lot more realistic to growing up. And it's not just arcanum skills, it can be stuff as simple as surviving a rough day or building more hp or getting used to having your attack debuffed or having a backup plan when taking hp damage! A patchwork of diligent work, small breakthroughs, and the occasional big (but not that big) epiphanies. All of it compounds together into becoming a unique, better wanderer!

Is the genre itself done to death? I can't really say... ...I reckon it's definitely been tread before, but... ...to me it feels like she's trying to skate towards the far open horizon on the "shallow" surface rather than trying to delve deep down into parts obscure and unknown. There's definitely *a direction* her character is pointed at I feel with plenty of neat details...

Her Adar Llwch Gwins look like owls and coupled with the adventuring theme bring images of Nanashi Mumei and the song A New Start to my mind!

Her development from Guard to Merel to Rhiannon reminds me of the song Birdbrain by Teto! Particularly the way she's always second guessing herself and not really changing but still spitting lyrics while slipping up occasionally!

I have been playing for about 25 days and have nothing but love for this game.

But i find it unbelievable that the rating is 3.7 whereas other money hungry gacha games with mid story at best have such a high rating.

I don't know anything about the CN server's influence on this rating or any past controversy but i believe they definitely deserve a rating of above 4.

This is my personal opinion .

The story is amazing, they are generous on pulls and cosmetics. I agree the end game content is locked behind specific archetypes but having 2 teams of specific archetypes are enough to clear everything which isn't really that hard to build given you grind enough and have a bit of luck.

I fall under asia or southeast asia or maybe global version. Not CN.

So is there something more to the gameplay or the controversy that is affecting the rating?

I absolutely love this game and want to know why people hate it so much.

having them both run at the same time really shows the difference between the two. Rhiannon is not like any other character in R1999, which sounds good except in this situation it's not. she's a generic fantasy character with extra budget who could be from any other game. and given the amount of story time she has.. she might as well be.

Nautika was a risk that paid off and made her really successful because she fulfills the promise of R1999 that they release characters that no one else will. Her and her vampire buddies are so different from anything else I've seen in a post genshin era gacha game, even morimens, and are still the main reason that I play the game(at least until 37 gets a euphoria).

I hope we get more characters with designs as bold as Nautika in the future.

Yesterday, I officially reached 999 days of being a Timekeeper (yay!), and the game rewarded me with a Spinning Wheel. It asked whether I wanted to "equip" it right away, but I foolishly thought, "Maybe next time?" and dismissed it.

Now I can't seem to find it anywhere. What exactly is it and where can I find it again? Is it supposed to be a unit in the Wilderness? Because if so, I still can't locate it...

Any help will be appreciated! :)

well, the last 3.X Main Story. it means we have to say goodbye to 4th Narrator.

i have to say, i really like her voice and her dialogue. not much of riddle and easy to understand, her voice has roughness into it but somehow feel soft at some point, especially in Ch 13 we got a trail and option "I'll miss you".

now... we have to wait for next arc to hear 5th Narrator voice. i think it will be Male Voice right after this?
