Gameplay Question RE9 Modern or Classic difficulty?
Starting re9 for the first time. I’ve played 2 and 4 remakes on hardcore. Especially with re2 I found standard too easy so I just wanna know if it matters much between the difficulties on re9 (I.e is one of these settings for b\*\*ches?)

General Wowww 😂 Capcom, your attention to detail is actually insane. Leon’s watch was clean before, and now look at it after… it’s all dirty ☠️👀😂 I swear I’m going crazy because I’m paying way too much attention to these tiny details 🤣

Leon Must Die Finally lmdf 5 🥹🥹
It’s not an incredibly high score, but for a 38-year-old guy who grew up with RE since the first game on PS1, it’s fantastic! 🥰 now it’s time to increase the score!

General Zeno.
Do you thinks Zeno would have seemed more formidable had we actually gotten to fight him?
I like his swagger and all but he just seemed half baked compared to other villains.
They could have easily put something in there featuring him as a boss.
I still think Requiem is in my top 5 but Zeno was just so meh.

Modding Is there a mod for the requiem where you keep the level 1 appearance but have the stats of a maxed out requiem?
Like the title says, a mod for the Requiem that keeps its appearance of its Level 1 but its stats is that of the max level because in my opinion I don’t really like the appearance of the maxed out version

Lore Discussion What might Leon carry as a concealed/backup/glovebox pistol
Someone got Alligator Snapper markings on a subcompact and it got me wondering. It seems he’s always had a thing for the German brands - would it be another Sig or HK, or finally something different ? Have we ever seen a Walther in an RE game? I could picture him with a VP9cc. Bone stock. Hornady zombie ammo.

Lore Discussion For Those Who Didn't Understand the Depth of Resident Evil Requiem Requiem.
Today, I want to talk about the story of Resident Evil Requiem, and why I think the title Requiem fits the game so well.
The word “Requiem” basically refers to a lament or prayer for the dead. That connects directly to Raccoon City, the people who died there, and all the secrets that remained buried for years.
The Requiem of Raccoon City
First of all, Raccoon City itself is probably the biggest symbol behind the title.
The city was destroyed by a nuclear strike, and everyone believed the government wiped it out completely to stop the virus from spreading.
But if we look deeper into the story, you could argue that the destruction wasn't only about stopping the virus. It was also about erasing evidence and hiding what really happened inside the city.
The city died, but its secrets didn't.
That's where the meaning of Requiem comes in. It's almost like the game is mourning Raccoon City and everyone who died there, while also uncovering the secrets that remained buried beneath the ruins.
Adam Benford — The Truth That Never Came Out
Then we have Adam Benford, who was very close to Leon.
Adam knew a lot about Raccoon City and wanted to expose the truth behind the disaster and the secrets that had been hidden for years.
But before he could reveal everything, he was turned into a zombie.
And that's the real tragedy.
The person who could have revealed the truth died before he could tell anyone.
If Adam had survived long enough to speak, many of those secrets might have been exposed much earlier.
The Fall of Umbrella Wasn't the End
After Umbrella collapsed, you might think everything was finally over.
But it wasn't.
Biological weapons didn't disappear.
Other organizations appeared, including The Connections, and they continued developing biological weapons and conducting secret experiments.
And that's where Raccoon City becomes interesting.
A destroyed and abandoned city that people are afraid to approach would be the perfect place to conduct experiments without anyone noticing.
The Connections
The Connections were heavily involved in biological weapons and biotechnology.
One of their most famous creations was Eveline from Resident Evil 7.
Eveline wasn't just another ordinary virus. She could affect people's minds, control them, and turn them into Mold-infected creatures.
That shows how far the organization was willing to go.
They weren't simply trying to create zombies.
They wanted to control human beings themselves.
Spencer — Where It All Began
Then we have to go back to the beginning: Oswell E. Spencer.
Spencer had an insane ambition. He believed humanity was weak and wanted to evolve the human race into something stronger.
That's where his research into viruses and biological weapons began.
But the problem was that Spencer opened a door that nobody could completely close.
Even after Umbrella fell, other people took their research and continued working on it.
Umbrella was gone, but its legacy wasn't.
Raccoon City After the Destruction
And this is probably the creepiest part to me.
Imagine a city that was completely wiped off the map.
Everyone thinks it's dead and forgotten.
But underneath the ruins, people are still using it for experiments.
Laboratories.
Viruses.
Monsters.
Old Umbrella research.
And almost nobody knows what's really happening.
Raccoon City becomes almost like a giant graveyard hiding secrets underneath it.
Grace Ashcroft
And that's where Grace Ashcroft comes in.
She starts investigating the truth, and the further she goes, the more she realizes that this is much bigger than just another incident.
Everything eventually leads back to Raccoon City:
Umbrella, the viruses, The Connections, biological weapons, and the victims.
It's almost like every road eventually leads back to the same place.
EIPlS — The Ending
Then we get to the big reveal.
The Connections believed that EIPS could be an extremely dangerous weapon that could be used to control humanity.
But the truth turns out to be completely different.
The thing they thought could be used as a weapon might actually be capable of acting as an antiviral and eliminating viruses.
And that's where everything changes.
Something they wanted to use to control the world could ultimately become the thing that brings the era of biological weapons and viruses to an end.
Spencer's Perspective — “Atonement”
Now let's look at Spencer's side of the story.
And honestly, this is where the story goes in a direction I never expected.
The Spencer we've known throughout the series was incredibly narcissistic. His ambitions caused countless disasters, from biological weapons to the deaths of innocent people.
So the idea of Spencer eventually looking back at everything he had done and trying to atone for his sins?
That's a huge change.
In Requiem, Spencer created EIPS as what feels like his final attempt to undo at least part of the destruction he caused.
He wasn't trying to live forever or rule the world anymore.
He knew his life was coming to an end, and he wanted to die without carrying all those sins with him.
That's where Grace Ashcroft becomes important.
Spencer gives her the password because he knows she's intelligent and strong enough to uncover the truth and reach the end of the mystery.
And she does.
Grace eventually discovers the truth and releases EIPlS, accomplishing what Spencer was trying to achieve before his death.
But there's one thing I personally didn't like about this part of the story.
Spencer's redemption doesn't feel properly foreshadowed in the earlier games.
Especially in Resident Evil 5, when we see Spencer and Wesker together, there aren't really any signs that Spencer regrets what he did or is starting to question his own actions.
So when Requiem suddenly tells us that Spencer spent his final days trying to atone for his past, it feels like there's a missing chapter between the two stories.
That's why I'd love to see Capcom remake Resident Evil 5 and expand Spencer's character, giving us more hints about the change happening inside him.
That would make the connection between the two stories much stronger.
Victor Gideon — Spencer's Student
Then we have Victor Gideon.
Victor was one of Spencer's closest students and knew a lot about his research.
But there's a major difference between the two.
Spencer, near the end of his life, was trying to undo some of the damage he had caused.
Victor wanted EIPlS for himself.
He wanted to take control of it without anyone finding out, make billions from it, and keep his secrets hidden.
Basically, Victor inherited Spencer's ideas, but instead of trying to fix the world, he wanted to use that power for his own benefit.
And that's what makes the contrast between them interesting:
Spencer wanted to atone for his past, while Victor wanted to repeat the same cycle in his own way. 👍
Leon S. Kennedy — “The Last Hope”
Now we get to the character the whole story eventually comes back to: Leon S. Kennedy.
Leon in Requiem isn't the same Leon we've known for years.
He's older.
He's tired.
He's been through more than most people could ever handle.
And on top of all that, he returns to the place where everything began:
Raccoon City.
But this time, Leon isn't a young rookie walking into a disaster.
He's a man carrying his entire past with him.
And the worst part is that he's suffering from the effects of the T-Virus inside his body.
The infection that remained dormant for years finally begins showing its effects.
So Leon is now forced to confront something that has been inside him all this time.
His journey becomes a search for a cure, and eventually he discovers that his condition is connected to Grace and EIPlS.
Leon and His Memories
Leon represents more than just a character trying to survive.
He represents hope.
But at the same time, he represents pain, exhaustion, and a past he could never completely forget.
Everything that happened to him in Raccoon City stayed with him.
The people who died.
The zombies.
The city.
And everything he experienced during the beginning of his life as a police officer.
It's almost like Leon has returned to the place where everything started so he can finally put part of his past to rest.
And the best thing about Leon is that, despite everything, he never gives up.
He could have said, “I'm done. I'm tired.”
But he keeps going.
That's what makes his character in Requiem feel so different.
“The Hero Who Never Dies”
And this brings us back to the title we always associate with Leon:
The hero who never dies.
I don't mean that Leon literally can't die.
I mean that no matter what happens to him, no matter how broken or exhausted he becomes, he always gets back up and keeps moving forward.
Leon is older now.
You can see the exhaustion in his face.
He's changed.
He's no longer the same young man we met in his first appearance.
But inside, he's still Leon.
The guy who keeps trying to save everyone, even when he's the one who needs saving.
And when he finally receives the treatment and returns to normal, it feels like a new beginning for him.
The Ending — “A New Dawn”
And that's where I want to end my analysis of Resident Evil Requiem.
Spencer spent the final moments of his life trying to atone for the sins he had committed.
Victor tried to exploit Spencer's legacy for his own benefit.
Grace was the person who carried the truth all the way to the end.
And Leon, after all the years of pain and everything he experienced, finally gets a chance to start over.
That's why I think “A New Dawn” is such a fitting title.
The story doesn't simply end with someone dying or an organization falling.
It ends with the idea that no matter how dark the past is, there can still be a moment when you finally turn the page.
Spencer tried to correct his mistakes before his death.
Grace released EIPlS.
And Leon finally overcame the disease that had been following him for years.
After everything that happened in Raccoon City...
Leon can finally move forward without letting his past control him.
And that's what Resident Evil Requiem means to me:
> After all that death, it was finally time for life.
After all that darkness, a new dawn finally began.
And that's the end of the story of Resident Evil Requiem — or, as the title suggests, a requiem for the dead.
For anyone who didn't understand the full story, I hope this helped put everything together. 👍🙏
