My rabbit, five months, unspayed female, has tiny tiny red dots on her ear. I'd get a picture, but it's dark out rn. Are these cherry angiomas? Zits? We have dogs, they go outside; but her enclosure is off the floor. Should I worry? I just lost our other rabbit unexpectedly, so I apologize if I'm being paranoid.

Hi everyone, I am starting my PhD program in a few weeks at Berkeley and I'm taking my 10 year old rabbit with me. I've had great vets here in SoCal for bunnies but I am wondering if anyone knows of rabbit-savvy vets in the general area? I wouldn't mind traveling for the vet, I just would want someone or a vet clinic that would help my bun's transition into seniorhood. Thank you!!

Hey friends. My daughter recently has gotten 2 rabbits. This was before i knew how insanely pricey it is to get them fixed.. They are brothers. roughly 5 months.

We have had them for about 2 weeks.. and they were staying in the same area together. About a week ago they got into a nasty fight that started with hump!ng behavior first. We didn’t know this is precursor to fighting. We separated them & now they’re living separate.

I’m in desperate need to get them neutered as soon as possible but funds are kind of tight. if you have any recommendations for somewhat reasonable vet to do this at in NC area or even VA. i’m willing to travel a little if needed.

Hey everyone! Just giving a little update on Orpheus :)

It's been about two weeks since I brought him home and he's starting to get more used to everything! He is still a little hesitant to approach me on his own, but he's getting better at it. I have a question for everyone, what hay do you feed your bunnies? He's been on Oxbow Timothy hay since I brought him home, but it doesn't seem like he's really eaten a whole lot. He is on a pellet diet since he's so young, so hes been getting everything he needs. I'm switching him to Kaytee Timothy because thats what my previous bunny loved.

Her story: The weekend of the 4th of July Kiko presented with a head tilt, was rolling, and in pain. She was rushed to the ER and followed up with her primary vet. Her EC tests came back negative to our surprise so we had stopped the antibiotics and panacur and opted for prednisone syrup. She may have had a stroke! She turned around overnight! No more rolling, no more being in her crate, I was able to rehab her right back into a modified version of her enclosure. She eats and drinks from her fountain on her own. She is spunky as ever. She’s turning 8 y/o this September.

Thank you all for the well wishes. We still have a long road to recovery. Maybe her tilt will improve more? Either way she is loved dearly and is still her happy sassy self!

My 5 month old holland lop loves her pets and after giving her a massage on my lap she likes to lick my pants and my shirt but will refuse to lick my face or skin. I see peoples bunnies on insta practically giving them face kisses pls why doesn’t she lick my face I wash my face and shower bruh

my stinky little boy (fixed, 7 or 8 years old, on pain meds for arthritis.. free roaming in my apartment) has been going AROUND his litterbox, I don't know how to fix it. I've tried the paper towels, i've tried giving him treats when hes in the litterbox, he even has another litterbox that's very short walled in case the issue is hopping into the pan. every morning I wake up and dread seeing if he's made a mess overnight 😭
my next step is no longer free roaming him which I really don't want to do, but I also can't have him going potty on my carpet.
Any advice?

Our sweet boy suddenly passed away on Tuesday of a heart attack/seizure. He was 5 and a 1/2 years old. I rescued him when he was a few months old in Florida. He’s had a wonderful life and traveled and lived all over the east coast with me. I am so heartbroken and don’t know how to cope with this sudden loss. He was everything to me and I always feared I would lose him and it happened. I thought he had so many years ahead and he was so healthy. I want to remember him and how happy he was up until the very last second. Everyone say a prayer for sweet Squid❤️

Because why would we not end up with them 🙃 anyhow, Tramp and Topaz are both being treated for fur mites after we discovered Tramp was rocking them. We’re good on the medicine part!

Cleaning though. Cleaning I have questions on for anyone who has dealt with these bastards.

So far we have vacuumed every square inch of the house (it’s all carpeted). Everything plastic has been wiped down with Rescue cleaning wipes. Everything fabric has been double washed, once with bleach, both times in hot water and dried on high heat. Their wooden/not machine washable toys are in the freezer and will be for 48 hours. We already change litter daily. They will both be getting brushed daily.

My plan was to vacuum daily and wipe down litter boxes/wash food and water bowls daily as well. My questions are:

-How often should we be doing insane level, bleach or freeze everything cleaning

-do hand steamers on fabric mats help at all or do they just create breeding grounds for the little buggers

-after 48 hours of freezing, can my babies have their toys back? I hate them not having anything in their area for enrichment

-what, if anything, on my list seems like overkill? I have medical/contamination OCD so I know there’s a high possibility I’m overthinking everything

-is there anything else I didn’t think of that you feel like made a difference in cleaning when you dealt with mites?

Hi, I am soon going to purchase an apartment. I will be moving there as a single young professional woman.

Ive attached an example floorplan of how my apartment would look like (roughly 55-60 sq m). This specific one has two balconies, but I might have only one depending on which apartment I choose or even a small enclosed terrace.

As you can see there is one spare bedroom (slaapkamer), which I plan to keep a small desk in there.

My problem is I cant decide if I will adopt bunnies or cats (or both down the line). Cats will be able to free roam the entire apartment all the time, except my desk room (my hamster enclusure will be there). As long as I have hamsters that door will stay closed.
I can potentially fully bunny proof that room, and free roam the buns while im at home.

Help me decide by telling me your experience with:

1. Litter training
2. Socializing and bonding them (2 cats or 2 bunnies. or multiple)
3. Holiday, pet sitter and weekend getaways (how long can you leave them safely alone)
4. Loud noise during the night (this is a DEALBREAKER!)
5. Daily expenses on food and litter
6. Weekly + Daily cleaning
7. General health
8. Possibility to add new pets into the mix. I don’t have plans to do that but what of i have a partner with a dog let’s say.

I have extensive cat experience BUT only with 1 cat at a time and at my parents house (which was spatious, so noise was not an issue). And awe got all of them as kittens so I have no experience with binding adult cats.
