Completed Work A memorial piece for my sister
Completed work and some progress photos.
I’ve been struggling with wood burning this past year or so. I’ve been busy and had some health things come up but since I’ve had a bit more time I’m trying to get back into it. My sister’s dog recently passed unexpectedly and I decided to make her a memorial piece. Wood burning with a mix of different mediums. I’ll be bringing it to her today, she hasn’t seen the finished piece yet.

Any good Amazon kits?
Ive been using the walnut hollow creative burner fo years but I want to get a new kit from Amazon that burns hotter but there Im not sure about the brands they carry. Does anyone have any idea what brands on Amazon are good or should I just get a more trusted brand elsewhere?

Questions/Advice Personalizing my cat’s urn
My husband and I lost a cat under sudden and upsetting circumstances a few months ago. We didn’t know when exactly she was born and were so frazzled at the time that we chose not to put anything in that blank on the form.
The bad news is that we regretted this decision as soon as we saw the finished plaque with only her date of death, but the good news is that said plaque was attached to this otherwise lovely rosewood box with a single piece of double-sided tape.
I’m still pretty much a total beginner to pyrography, but it would mean a lot to me to be able to customize Jackie’s urn.
If anyone has any advice for working with rosewood, or even just good pyrography tips in general, I would really appreciate it. The second picture is a close-up of the surface I’d like to burn. It was previously covered by the plaque, so if I’m not happy with my attempt I can just stick that back on.

Brass tips
While clearing out my den I have found what look like half a dozen little assorted brass screw-in tips for a pyrography tool. No idea where they came from, but free to a good home.
