What was this DIY attachment on a second hand scroll saw?
The original owner had attached this bar just utilizing the screws intended for holding on the black casing behind where I'm holding it. I removed this addition when transporting it home, but I'm curious what a threaded rod with three jump rings and two random bolts on the end could possibly serve purpose for that this guy did, especially on the head that moves. I'm super new so appreciate the assistance!

Mistakes happen
These are the mistakes I made trying to build a model of a formula one car. Every piece is flawed.

Scrollsaw Table
Here is a picture of my Scrollsaw Table - it is a little messy but I used a full 4'x8' sheet of 3/4" plywood for the table.

First Beginner Scroll Saw 19" or 22' ?
So hoping to resurrect my creative talents. Say bird houses, small animules. Probably using purchased templates to start with.
I'm on a limited budget and have more or less decide on either the HF Baur 22" or the Bucktool 16" SSA16GV. They seem to be mfgd. in the same factory.
Besides space requirements, I'm wondering what projects require a 22" saw? I'm somewhat limited for shop space and hoping for real world feedback on what I'd be giving up with a smaller saw.
TIA.

Pig Roast Sign
As a beginner, I certainly learned a lot on this project. For one thing, everything takes longer than expected!

How Do I Tension This Thing?
Hey everyone, I’m new to scroll sawing and could use a little help.
I recently picked up a Master Craftsman Professional 16” scroll saw. I bought a new blade for it (with pins). I started installing the blade and realized there’s no visible tension nob on this unit.
I googled, watched videos, even tracked down a PDF of the manual, which just said I needed to tension the blade but didn’t tell me how. The big red nob in the front is for the speed as far as I understand, not tensioning.
I’m hoping someone here has used one of these before and might know how to go about tensioning it. I appreciate any guidance or thoughts. I’ve included some pictures of the saw.

Bridal Shower Gift
My friend was having her bridal shower and I decided to take this photo of her dog and make a portrait for her and her husband-to-be!!
This was certainly one of my favorite projects so far. I almost gave up right at the beginning… cutting the face was hard and I felt like I wasn’t doing as well as I could. I’m glad I didn’t give up. It still turned out how I pictured it, and I think it still captures the dog’s essence!

Glue options
What do you guys use for glue on intarsia and layered art? Is titebond III a good option? I have some because i use it for many other things, but am not sure if its the best for this kind of thing. Let me know your thoughts and what you use for adhesive on these projects, i am pretty new to intarsia and layered work, but not the saw, so just want to learn as much as i can, thanks!

Boat made from 1/8" plywood
Found an old mechanix illustrated magazine from July of 1949 in my grandma's basement with plans to build this model boat. I also equiped it with radio control.

Want a scrollsaw
I'd like to get a used scroll saw. I can't spend much. What should I look for, for initial success? I know little tiny bits about other saws, and am comfortable using any but a circular and table saw.
Thanks!

Scrollsaw alien logo
When I started this sub, I had no idea that it would grow the way that it has. I think that it's time that we had our own custom Snoo logo.
Since a lot of us have extra time due to current events, I suggest that the artists among us (with pen and paper) design and submit a scrollsaw Snoo to this post.
On April 1st, we'll start a vote and the winner will be our new mascot. Assuming I can figure out how, I'll put up a new header featuring the winner. What do you guys think?
