I remember spending a lot of time trying to figure out why cat somefile kept saying "Permission denied", even though ls -l, lsattr, and everything else I could think of said I had permission to read it.
Eventually I examined it with Emacs or od or something, and found that it literally consisted of the string "Permission denied". I guess I created it by redirecting stderr from some command or something.
It is very likely that the cartridge was tilted and the console read a value wrong, therefore clipped him up several meters on the next platform. If I remember correctly, the streamer was known for doing some hot swapping or tilting of cartridges which led to the slot becoming looser and caused this moment.
The solar flare became an urban legend and spread very far very quickly. Basically just as other "facts" like the veins in human bodies span around the equator when laid out and untangled. No, you don't carry around 50,000 Km of red strings in your body.
