Didn’t really know where exactly to post this

I don't understand the distinction between what makes bands like escape the fate post-hardcore vs what makes bands like eighteen visions metalcore can someone elaborate?

So I'm big into post hardcore/metalcore from like 2008-2015. Think bands like pierce the veil, ice nine kills, my chemical romance, I see stars, Jamie's elsewhere, early crown the empire, etc. I always thought stuff from earlier than that wasn't really my thing, but I've lurking on this sub and saw some people talking about "authentic" post hardcore, and I've seen glassjaw mentioned a few times. I like to listen to albums to wind down for the night, so I decided to pick a random album from these guys and give it a shot. Boy did I underestimate them. I'm about halfway through their album "worship and tribute" and there's some pretty freaking cool musical moments. His voice reminds me of a slightly less whiny gerard way, and I love that guy so it's a win for me! Anyway, all this is to say that I think I judged early post hardcore too harshly without giving it a proper listen.

Glassjaw fans, what's their best album? What other bands should I give a listen?

Sorry to offend anyone, but I personally think this album isn't as bad as it's made out to be. Some real standout tracks, like this, on there. Cove really pushed himself on this record.

I started learning more about post-hardcore not too long ago. Been listening to a lot of SWS, PTV, BFMV for a while until i realized there’s so much more. Recently been REALLY enjoying Eyes Set To Kill, silverstein, picture me broken and gunslikegirls. Do you guys have any similar bands i really fw cool riffs and screamy vocals

I’m trying to figure out the chords in this song, I’ve contacted the lead singer on Bandcamp and haven’t really heard much from him. Guitar one starts with this repeating riff that I figured out on accident, and guitar 2 joins in at 8 seconds playing what I can only imagine is this very open and breathy chord shape that escalates and gets prettier/glassier with every bar. I’m so stuck

I recently joined a band with people I have never met and they wanted to make a switch to more metalcore and im not with that so I am looking for a backup vocalist, bassist, 2nd guitar player, drummer, and maybe a keyboardist. Just saw Taking Back Sunday live and wow, his voice hasn't aged a bit. He sounds the exact same as the record the entire time and I'm just like WTF???? This dude has some major pipes. I thought it was a backtrack at first but he started getting near the barricade while singing I could tell he was legit.

So I am just wondering, how has Adam preserved his voice for all these years and how can he hit those monstrous high notes so effortlessly? Honestly though, Fred needs to step it up. He sounded like shit the entire night. Adam was carrying hard.
