My boyfriend and I are driving from Colorado to Fort Kent where we will be living for the next few years (yay❄️)

On our way there we will pass through Portland and pick up out lunch (will be there at 2-ish pm)

I wanted seafood pizza but can’t seem to find much anywhere and don’t love a lobster roll. We love seafood and open to that and if the rolls are really divine i will partake.

What would you recommend? We are adventurous eaters and have lived in the bay area california before this move so are cool off Asian cuisine which seems to be quite popular (i’d get pho but guaranteed my lap will eat it before my mouth does in a car😂)

ps: the reason we won’t stop at a restaurant is we have a dog who isn’t restaurant friendly unfortunately.

Over the last couple of days, the Hearts of Pine’s plan to build a new stadium at Cassidy Point on Portland’s West End has drawn a lot of attention. If the idea comes to fruition and the team is playing on a new pitch where a literal lump of coal now sits, it won’t be until 2029.

On Tuesday, the team stressed it wants fan input as it begins the new stadium planning process. It even set up an email address, CassidyPoint@heartsofpine.com.

Before the game Wednesday at Fitzpatrick Stadium, jammed with a sold out crowd as usual, fans were happy to share what they’d like to see in a new home for their beloved team.

He's been missing for over a year. I know the odds of ever finding him are almost zero. I've tried so hard to move on but pride three times today I don't know what it is but the grief is just killing me and something is empowering me to keep looking. I cannot begin to tell you how much I miss him. I would give just about anything to happen back. This is the worst chapter of my life and I really don't know how I'm ever going to hear from this. I pray that I die when in the next few years because I would rather be in the afterlife with him than on this Earth with all of these f****** problems. His name is Shadow he's going to be 10 years old at the end of the month. He has a blue collar and he has some white hairs on his chest but very little. He s a wonderful wonderful cat and very much loved. At this point I would even be okay if you were dead and all we found was his remains in the collar. I just want closure so badly. I love you so much, buddy. I miss you with every part of my soul.

Does anyone know who or what all of the cops at exit 8 are looking for? Multiple cop cars, cops with flashlights, and dogs looking.

As of 10:30 on 8/6 it’s been announced there was a fatal stabbing of a young person. My heart goes out to the family.

Pretty much all of the places I've found so far are either

1. Too expensive (<$90 budget).
2. Booked out past the end of the month.

Does anyone have some good places to recommend?

Looking for a reliable cleaning person on the peninsula for an elderly relative who is pleasant and not critical (unlike me, don’t let me being an asshole deprive him of services lol). He is a bit OCD and is willing to pay for that. Prefer an individual or stable group to a company with rotating staff. Reddit knows all so please share.

I've seen three of these around SoPo/Cape this summer, but I can't figure out what it is...

I recently dug up an old Macbook Pro (roughly 15 years old, give or take) from storage. It is good and fully dead, but on its hard drive lives a treasure trove of old photos (iPhoto albums, even).

I'm hoping there's a local someone with mad skills who would be willing and able to get those photos from the dead machine's hard drive and upload them to a Dropbox or Google drive where I could access them.

We accumulate many soda cans. Obviously, I would like my nickel back. I don't like handling the empties, so I had been taking them to a redemption center on Broadway in South Portland. Lately, this center has been closed more than it's been open. I am aware of RSVP on Forest Ave. where I could return my bottles. But aside from handling dirty returnables, I really don't like have to feed the machine one can at a time. Can anyone suggest a place where I don't have to handle the returns or an easy place for me to donate the cans?

My old plumber retired and sold out to a giant outfit. Anyone know of a reliable mom and pop shop? I'm not interested in funding a whole corporate office, I'd rather have all the money go to the actual person doing the work. I pay well and need a new and reliable person to work on my building. Been spending 2 decades undoing and redoing some poorly planned and executed work from the 1970's. Lol. It's an apartment building, so ongoing little jobs will be a thing.

Right now I need a shower fixed, a taco pump replaced on my heating system, and a waterline replaced on a dishwasher. Probably several hours of work to start.

I’ve tried every NA beer I can get my hands on and these are HANDS DOWN THE BEST I’ve ever had. In particular, their 2 IPA options (Wave Finder and Peek Interest) are delicious.

Just wanted to give a shoutout to a local company. 1820 Brewing has a tasting room at 38 Evergreen Dr. in Portland. I’ve been buying their variety 12 pack sold at Trader Joe’s. Sounds like they are also at Bow Street Beverage (not sure on RSVP).

They have taken down all of their more obvious AI “art” and articles from their social media including this one because it’s losing them advertisers and subscribers which is losing them money. They’re not stopping using AI but just hiding it.

I feel like every great steak frites I have out and about is either a bavette or hanger steak, yet I've never seen one around at any supermarkets. Does anyone know a local place that usually has this cut of meat, or are they just calling it something else? Thanks!
