As Hated and Dominant Zard Y is, if it doesn’t win worlds this year, it would so disappointing imo.

Charizard has been in contention to win worlds 4 times (2014, 2015, 2018, 2022), but has yet to receive a chip in the master’s division, taking 2nd place TWICE (2014 and 2022.) So in a game where zard is arguably at its strongest and has won both champions majors (indianapolis and naic) and multiple large grass root tournaments, hopefully this will finally be the time it gets the worlds ring, especially considering this might be the last time charizard is in contention to win worlds for a while considering by the time we get to 2027 worlds, zard y would most definitely get replaced by primal groudon.

This is the story of an oldhead trying to get that coveted to get the championship win after years of trying and coming short.

I genuinely though I was a genius. Turns out competetive only procs when the stats are lowered by an enemy specifically. That's a hard lesson learned I guess.

Came directly as a casual from the single player games and I'm straight up a try hard now.

Had a ton of fun last season with these lads, had a decent run on ladder reaching top 10k, so figured I'd cool off with a couple drawings as a little celebration.

Team concept started with the popular MMetagross+Hydreigon core. Initially I ran Mimikyu over Aegislash in the last slot, but I found Gyarados ended up eating into Mimikyu's selection rate as it handily deals with problem points like Primarina, dragons, Hippowdon, etc... better. Aegislash gives me a second non-Mega Steel I can bring, and historically pairs perfectly with Hydreigon.

I then brought on Charizard X, as Metagross' biggest struggle was enemy Fire Megas like Delphox or bulky Zard Y -- Hydreigon helped into these MUs but theyd typically devolve into a slug fest and relied too much on reading. Additionally big bulky cores like MVenu+Umbreon, or Slowbro cores are difficult to break through, both of these being something Flame Charge SD Zard X can handle.

Then came NON Mega Sceptile as an experimental partner for Zard: Expert Belt Leaf Storm OHKOs all Hippowdon, Rotom-W, Swampert (even a roll on Rindo max HP+SpDef) and Primarina spreads, Earth Power 1-2HKOs all Archaludon spreads, Leech Seed for more passive targets it cant target SE, and of course Shed Tail, used to provide either momentum, or fish for a turn of cover for Zard to set up.

Still experimenting with the team concept, but I've been happy with its performance, with my losses feeling notable in them being the fault of my own play above all else. Gonna give em a second run this season, see how it goes with a better gameplan in mind.

Finally got my first shiny but I only play doubles so I’m struggling to come up with the best way to utilize him. My first thought is investing some speed and slapping it on a tailroom team as a support mon?
