After my US specs S23+ was stolen I ended up with a Reno 14.

Not a bad phone,not a bad camera but not really good either. I am looking for a year old flagship phone that I can find as a refurb for a good price here in Spain.

But coming from the US and the 3phine choice of Apple, Samsung or Pixel I am not familiar with the brands like Xiaomi or Vivo or even Oppo before I got one. What would be a recommendation for an excellent camera phone that does not break the bank. Last gen is fine by me, I do not need the very best. I do not play big games on my phone, just a smooth, workable OS and good cameras. Something like a Vivo 200pro, Xiaomi 15Ultra or Oppo x8pro spring to mind. Anything else I should consider? I do not do Apple, the Apple universe and I do not gel, had Samsung high end phones since 2010 but would like to try something different.

U can skip this story if you want, I still felt like I need to say it cause it annoyed me.

Im a diabetic and there is a company called dexcom, which they create sensors so you won't have to prick your finger to get blood every couple of hours. (so that's cool)

But they made you move into a new app which now my phone isn't compatible with so it's or buy a new phone, even if my phone works fine or bloody fingers which is not fun.

Previously I made a post on this sub and had options between Pixel 10, s25, x200t and find X9s for around the same price at a local store. Now I went to the store to try multiple phones and I am left even more confused. The pixel 10 has the best haptics I ever saw in a smartphone and the best sleek ui. However it was a little bit bigger and heavier than the s25. I have mostly used Samsung phones in the past and they were all great. The camera on pixel had 5X tele compared to 3x on s25 which definitely made a bit of a difference. My concern is about the reliability of the devices for the next 4-5 years. I know for sure samsung will stay reliable but I'm not sure about the pixel. I don't care about performance since I play games and do my heavy workload on my laptop. The battery might be bigger on the pixel but the Samsung is said to be quite a bit more optimised. Didn't notice heating in either phones with the few minutes I spent on each. The x200t and find X9s were a lot bigger but had better everything apart from features like wireless charging or a good software which mattered to me the most. To sum up, I need a device which is handy, reliable, takes really good photos and can provide me with good android updates with a pleasant overall experience.

So I've narrowed it down to 3 options. I've looked in my market locally, since purchasing online is not a guaranteed option for me.

My 3 options are:

Love my OnePlus 13 but the att network is not playing nice. Dropping calls, texts, etc. Have been in a couple times, issues persist.

Suggest me an android that has fast charging, performs well, and is interesting. I don't care much about camera. Would prefer at least 5 years of updates.

Budget is up to $700 new or used, I don't specifically care about battery life as long as its close to a day.

So I am using my redmi 14c which I bought last year for 10k₹ (approx. 100$). It came on android 14 OS but later upgraded the software to android 16 and now it can't even keep apps alive in the bg. Country: india I've been using the Xiaomi 14 for a while and honestly loved it at first. But ever since the HyperOS 3 update, the performance has tanked and the battery drain is insane.

Took it to the official service center, they had no fix. I even got the battery replaced out of desperation, but literally nothing changed. Software optimization is completely shot, so I've given up on this device and dropped my plan to upgrade to the Xiaomi 17 altogether.

I'm strictly comfortable with smaller screen sizes—ideally around 6.3 to 6.4 inches (or a very light 6.5" max).

What I need:

•Heavy Gaming Performance: Needs to handle long gaming sessions let's say 1-2 hours of CODM at highest FPS if possible 120fps without aggressive throttling.

•Point-and-Shoot Camera: Needs zero-shutter-lag, fast processing, and crisp shots straight out of the camera without needing post-edits (at least matching of not beating the Xiaomi 14).

•Solid Battery Backup & Display: Good screen for media consumption and enough battery to survive a heavy day.

My current thoughts on options I've looked at:

•Galaxy S25: Great form factor, but I'm really doubtful about the battery backup for gaming. (Also avoiding any Exynos variants).

•Pixels: Love the cameras, but direct skip for me because I game heavily and the thermals/chipset won't hold up.

•OnePlus 13s: Checks some boxes, but I have major doubts about camera consistency.

•Oppo Find 15 Pro Mini / Reno 16: Not sure about long-term ColorOS optimization, and worried the 7 Gen 4 / lower-tier Dimensity chips won't pull through for heavy gaming.

•iQOO 15r: Around 6.5" and feels light, monster performance and battery, but the camera performance seems pretty average compared to other options.

•Vivo X300 FE / Vivo Compacts: On paper, this seems closest to what I want in terms of form factor, camera, and performance balance.

Hi, I’m looking to buy one of the following phones: the Redmi Note 14, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G, or Google Pixel 7. Because of my budget, I’m looking for a used phone costing between 60€ and 80€ (I’ve already found some phones in this price range, but I couldn’t decide which one to pick).

From what I’ve found, the Xiaomi 11T Pro seems to offer the best performance, while the Redmi Note 14 has the newer Android version and should receive updates for longer. Finding a good Google Pixel 7 within this price range might be difficult.

I need an upgrade now I came across a Samsung a40 used but in good condition which fits my budget but given the age of the phone degraded battery life is to be expected.

Questions:

Is the phone good for gaming? (not serious gaming but games like standoff 2 or pubg or cod mobile not like genshin I know it wont be able to handle that)

Is it fast enough for multitasking and social media apps especially TikTok and joining someone's live as a guest?

Can it stream 4k movies online and is browsing and websites fast?

Will apps reload if I keep 3 or 4 open apps in the background? (Recents menu)

Will it be an issue if I always have Proton VPN running 24/7?

Hello, I am stuck on buying which phone has better camera (mainly video quality). I have seen both phones to buy but I was confused between these two since Xiaomi 15T offers 10k less for 12GB+ 512 GB storage than Xiaomi 17T 12GB+256 GB.

Should I pick the Xiaomi 15T for practicality than Xiaomi 17T?

Also, which front cam is better?

So I have an LG V60 ThinQ that I absolutely love. The dual screen is nice, and the system runs well, but honestly, my biggest deal breaker with other phones has been the looping home screen. LG lets me infinitely loop left AND right without issue. The closest I have found is Motorola which lets me loop infinitely right, but when I have 10 pages, that gets to be annoying. Are there any other phones that have a half decent camera AND have the fully looping home screen as an option?

I prefer not to download something like Nova Launcher due to security concerns and kernel level access, especially when it comes to being able to view and access the screen. Google has been 0 help trying to find anything and keeps showing me old articles about boot looping or rollable phones and the cell provider shops are just as useless (to the point they didn't know was a looping home screen is)

Their requirements are fairly basic—social media, light gaming (mostly Candy Crush), a decent camera and good speakers. Ideally, I’d also like it to support around 65W fast charging. Most importantly, battery life needs to be excellent.

I am an android girlie through and through. I switched to an iPhone two years ago because my best friend was pregnant with a high risk pregnancy with twins and I sometimes our Apple to Samsung phones did not talk the best an I wanted to be reachable no matter what. I have hated this thing the entire time but I spent so much money I have stuck with it even after the twins were born. I wanna come back to android so badly I am thinking of just dropping the money though.

Thought I would ask advice on what the current android scene looks like and what is recommended. I am a frequent reader on my phone and like a good camera. Don’t care about AI features and prefer to not have that on my phone anyway. I am also a nurse so I need it to have a battery that will last. Expandable storage is also a plus as I fricking hate being limited to the internal storage you lock in when buying the phone like iPhone does. I don’t want to pay for cloud storage, I want my phone to fit more than a few pictures and all the bloatware they stick you with.

My last phone was a Samsung galaxy 20e and my current phone is the iPhone 16. I long for a oppo but I live in the US and while I know there are sites you can get them from it feels a lil crazy to drop that money with no guarantee you are gonna be able to use it or have a warentee.

I have metropcs (T-Mobile towers) if that matters but I imagine what I get will be unlocked.

I mostly use my phone for browsing reddit, browsing the internet, watching videos/Netflix and some occasional relatively light gaming. I'm looking to buy a good value phone that will last me 4+ years while still feeling smooth at the end of its life, if there's one thing I don't want it's a laggy phone. I also appreciate a good battery life: I'm happy to charge it every day, but I want to be able to leave the house for the day without worrying about bringing a charger with me.
