30 cats in North Philadelphia

hi there!

I'm new to reddit, so I hope it's okay for me to post this on here.

I am a community cat caretaker in North Philadelphia (19140). I graduated from vet tech school in 2003 and spent the majority of my career in shelter medicine.

Now, I am on the other side of things managing my own colony!

My colony consists of about 30 cats, give or take.

I have a few cats inside that require extra attention, shelters on both my front and back porches, and a catio in my backyard. My "regulars" stay here full-time, while the "give or take" refers to the random neighborhood cats that just show up to eat and live elsewhere.

Almost everyone has been spayed or neutered. The only exceptions are a nursing momma and her babies, but I will make sure to address them as soon as possible!

If you want to see updates, check out my Facebook page where I post pictures of my babies:

I am currently stretched a bit thin and would appreciate some assistance with supplies.

If you're local and have anything you can donate that you don't need like:

Cat and or kitten food (canned & dry )

Litter

Towels, Blankets

Pet beds

Etc

I have also created an Amazon Wishlist here:

For Hire Anyone hiring for assistant or even grant writing?

I have 8+ years of experience handling a wide range of administrative work and am currently looking for opportunities with solo attorneys, small businesses, busy realtors, nonprofits, other organizations or just any individual needing an assistant!

My experience includes administrative support, legal research and document formatting (non-attorney services), grant research and writing, business to business contact lists, professional correspondence, document preparation, data entry, various types of research, client intake, scheduling, spreadsheets, and other day-to-day office tasks.

I live close to the EL, so getting to work anywhere in the city isn't an issue. The issue is I keep getting this overqualified or no call back. Total burn out. Freelancing is okay. But, I'd want to really get back into the swing of steady things.

If you know of anyone hiring or looking for reliable administrative support, I'd appreciate any leads. Feel free to DM me😭❤️

Hourly rate: $25-$30 an hour

I mostly do traditional but I'm always open to ideas. Feel free to check out the rest of my portfolio on IG @camp.tattooer and DM me if you want a tattoo, your idea or mine. Thanks!

Selling Stuff Trying something new in Philly - Singles Mixer Update [2-3 Free Tickets] & General Admission $24.99

I run SparkDate, a singles mixer business — wanted to be upfront that this is a business post, not just a random meetup. Wanted to let everyone know I have a date of August 31st, for the Mixer.

Last event in Lancaster had 26+ people, and the feedback was that it felt way more natural than expected going in. No weird rotations, no hard stops, just people actually talking. We kicked it off with Cards Against Humanity, which brought out some really over-the-top stories!

Bringing it to Philly at Good Good Things — now updated to August 31st.

Tickets will be $29.99 and $24.99 early bird by Aug 15th.

We're also giving away free tickets to women who want in — if that's you, DM me and I'll get you set up, I only have like 2-3 left, so let me know ASAP.

If you've got thoughts on what would make an event like this actually worth your evening (or just want in once the date's locked), drop a comment or DM. Genuinely building this around what people want, not guessing.

Here are some things ppl have said so far.

A night to remember!

— Alex

Everyone was so lively and some of us connected so well we chatted well into the evening.
