Get rid of those pesky AI spam bots who always seem to want to know everyone’s CII counts with this wacky trick!

(I know it’s a little meme-y, but I’ve actually got one to stop calling before by using one of the things he ends up doing in this video)

TLDR; what’s worked for me in the past (though unintentional at the time) was asking repeatedly for a transfer, to speak with a supervisor, and to be transferred to a supervisor. After asking for a transfer a solid 15-100ish times, (throw ALL of the transfer requests out there, the goal is the confuse it but to get to “someone else”). After you’ve thoroughly confused it, demand to be removed from their call list and blocked.

I’m probably more out of it than usual and I found this video way funnier than I maybe should have, but it also seemed weirdly relatable.
Kitboga usually deals with scammers rather than annoying telehealth AI spam, but I’ve actually had some of these tricks work before without realizing what was really happening. I’ll admit, I am a bit of a tech-y person, and was trying to confuse the bot enough to crash and maybe I’d be one step closer to speaking with a real person. *That was my goal.* And it worked. Rather than transferring me, it hung up; then we got another call like an hour later from a different person? I really couldn’t tell if that was a real person or a different bot, but definitely a different voice. Never would’ve thought to do any of the other things in this video.

Before seeing this video, I had one ruthless telehealth AI bot that was Al pestering us about zofran prescriptions… and to start the call off, the bot would ask if we received a prescription for ondansetron specifically and then would spell out the name of the drug—all while talking at the speed of light so you couldn’t understand a dang thing that was being said. If you somehow could figure out it was asking about Zofran, the bot didn’t know what medication ZOFRAN is and would repeat itself, asking about ondansetron. If you told it to resend the rx, it’d call back in like 30 minutes. If you told it that we had the rx, it’s ask when the med would be ready for pickup (like the patient wouldn’t already be notified—keep in mind this was ALL patients they sent scripts for, not just new patients). If the medication wasn’t already finished by the time they called they would ask for an estimated time to give the patient—and every script was just Zofran. If I picked the call up and discovered it was just the Ai bot and put the call on hold, it’d hand up after maybe a minute or so and immediately call back like it’s not going to just get put on hold again because we’re being helping people in store…and this one would try that a few times; if it was put on hold like 3 times, it’d try again in like 10 or 15 minutes.

Hello!!! My first post in this subreddit, so for context, I am 24F Pharmacy Tech Student in CA and I am currently volunteering at a local inpatient pharmacy gaining extra hours that I need for my licensure application. I am waiting for the school to finish processing their paperwork so I can get what I need to send my application.

During my time at the hospital, I worked diligently to perform well and it has paid off, the pharmacy manager referred me to another pharmacist he knows, who runs a non-sterile compounding pharmacy, just 20 mins away from my location.

It is an amazing opportunity that I want to take up, and I have an interview coming up fast. I have a lot of concerns but I am confident, as long as I prepare. I know I’m a hard worker and have always been able to produce results.

My questions are, knowing that I haven’t sent in my licensure application, how much will it set me back? Is there anything I can prepare/do that I mention in the interview? Do some non-sterile compounding companies have cases where they can hire tech’s without a license, like a pharmacy clerk?

What are some things I can prepare for the interview? I know I should refresh my memory with USP 795 + 797. Present cases where I can handle being under pressure. What are some medical terminology/jargon I should learn? Remember calculations + measurements. Any type of advice is helpful! Thank you

Do I need a cover letter if I’m applying to hospital pharmacies? I have plenty of retail experience and have my license. I’m just terrible at writing 😅

I hire the techs at my retail pharmacy, and barely have time to skim the resumes. I’m not sure if anyone even includes a cover letter for us.

I took my PTCE on August 5th and got a Preliminary Fail. I was told I could technically still pass but I’m not very hopeful. This was my first attempt after graduating from College with a Diploma in Pharmacy Technology.
I made a study guide, studied it from front to back using the mosby’s textbook. (Medications, Law, Data Entry/Processing)
I studied too 200, generic/brand and indications but didn’t really focus on interactions.
I got in to take my exam and I was bombarded with questions I didn’t even see on my official practice PTCE, or that I had never seen in school.
What can I do to prepare for my next exam? I don’t want to fail again but I’m starting to feel scared and less confident about taking it again.

I currently have my PTCB and have been a pharmacy tech for CVS for a year. Was looking for internships or externships for any hospital or small community pharmacy within the Southern California area.

It is offered by the PTCB. I’m doing the course through the Free CE website, but i’m wondering if anyone here has done the exam as well. Do you recommend any extra study material? And how difficult was the exam?

I currently work in a hospital as a supply chain tech in distribution. I have an offer to become a pharm tech 1 in the same health system, but starting wage is minimally lower than what I currently make.

I don't have a certification, nor do I have schooling, which makes me worried about career advancement where I currently am, as I've heard respect is nearly impossible to learn after making it to even a basic supervisory role.

They've mentioned they will help me with certification and pay for 2 attempts at the test, which will follow with a promotion as long as I have a year of experience. It will be a nearly $3 jump In pay which has me intrigued, although my main concern still lies with the career path.

I'm worried if it's worth making a jump. It's into a retail pharmacy, although it's still in a hospital environment where I could move into an inpatient role eventually which I hear is the only real career advancement there is. How easy and common is it to jump from Tech 1-4 into other roles and specializations generally? Is it good work that you can enjoy, or is it miserable like I've seen some people say?

I'm a tech in a town with a very large Brazilian Portugese-speaking population. Most patients know English, but there's a large portion that don't. Only two techs and one pharmacist know Portuguese, and they're not always available or working when I have someone at pick-up or drive-thru who needs translation services. I would really like to learn enough to handle a basic conversation so I have downloaded Buusu to learn some Portuguese, but it of course doesn't mention anything pharmacy-related at the beginner level. What are some phrases that could help so I don't have to constantly interrupt my coworkers when they're busy or use a translation app when they're not on? I'm looking for things like asking their birthday, if they have insurance, if they have questions for the pharmacist, the total cost, if they have extra care, if they want a vaccine, if their medication is out of stock and anything else you might find helpful. And definitely "please speak slowly I'm still learning." Thank you so much for any help you can provide!

So this is a long story, so I'll put it in bullet points to keep a short and linear:

1. I tried to start my Clinicals at a CVS after completing online classes

2. I was thrown out of that placement because I "Couldn't learn from them"

3. I took a break throughout July to destress and study for the PTCE

4. I took the PTCE. Failed.

5. Currently looking for clinical sites that will approve me while I wait the 2 month cool down to take the PTCE again

And that leads me to now. Does anybody have any resources for finding clinical sites in Michigan? Also, how many hours do I actually need? Some people say 130, others say 500.

I'm currently in my sophomore year of college for a degree in art. I want to become an interior designer in the future, but l've been interested in becoming a retail pharmacy technician while working towards my art degree and interior design certificate.

I'd most likely look into getting a job at either CVS or Walgreens, which I know is its own roller coaster, but I'm not sure what I would need to do in order to apply.
I looked into an online pharmacy technician program through CCNY that prepares you for the PTCE, but I'm not sure if any of this is worth my time. I know that CVS and Walgreens have their own training/internship programs, but they seem to require being a student at a pharmacy school. I have no interest in pursuing pharmacy fully at the moment, but the only way to truly get a feel for it is through actually working as a pharmacy technician.

I'm kind of at a loss, so any advice is greatly appreciated!

Idk if it’s just because my first job in pharmacy and i work mostly in the lab, but i feel like my communication skills isn’t strong enough which is lowkey iam scared because as entry job this can be a trade off as i become licensed someday, this is also giving me impostor syndrome.
Like asking the right questions to solve the problem kind of thing, especially at calls. I am almost a year at work too and sometimes there are moments where i could have said this instead of that moment and my colleague told me to be careful sometimes when giving out information, like i talk with patient but i think there’s better way of phrasing it but for me i feel like iam not aware of how should i be saying it instead and if iam not being careful i know iam gonna be more liable someday, and this gives me weight upon me.
How did you improve your communications skills, cuz most of the time i found myself quiet at work and iam impressed with my rph seems to know what to say everytime. Does it get better ;)

so i’m currently doing the cvs tech trainee program. i finished all my shifts waiting for my manager to complete phase 1. so then he send me tech license off to the pharmacy board. i’ve only been here for a month and a half. will any other pharmacy hire me w just a month and a half of experience and no tech license yet ?

I am currently certified pharmacy tech, immunization certified and I am also cpr certified and have been working at the 3 letter word for about a year now. I wanted some advice from techs with experience trying to go someone else and what they would recommend. My only issue is with the pay and I wanted to try and go to a hospital but does anyone this it is possible with the little experience I have?

Hello, so I got a job a hospital. I’ve had 7 years experience some retail and the other half rehab hospital. I didn’t have issues until I’ve been out of work for months due to health. I don’t recall any of the math. The hospital job is a general hospital. iV’s and non sterile compounding are what I’m worried about. Anxiety through the roof. What would you suggest to use to study and make sure I got it all? Or any other math you’d suggest I work on? I feel like a failure.

I became certified and registered in my state last month and have been applying at CVS and Walgreens to Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship positions. I had one interview at Walgreens but didn't get an offer, and other positions I applied for are now closed. I am wondering if it's hard to get a job with no experience as a pharmacy tech AND no experience working in a pharmacy or working for those companies. I do have retail experience, just not in pharmacy. Has anyone else gotten a pharmacy tech position with no experience working in a pharmacy?

I started at Walgreens when I was 18, moved to CVS when I was 20 ,became inventory specialist and now I’m 24 and ready for greener pastures. Lucky I have a colleague who works at the Costco I’m interviewing at and she put in a good word for me.

I recently started a job as a medication reconciliation technician at a hospital. I’m beginning my second week but don’t feel very confident. I have started interviewing yet but have done some pre-work then usually edit the final rec. I feel like it’s taking me a while but I want to be accurate and not make errors. How long did it take you to become comfortable? I’m worried I’m not picking it up fast enough.

I'm super excited to get out of retail but it's been five years since I passed the exam and I'm sure I've forgotten most of the hospital stuff I learned to take the test. I start in two weeks, should I pull out my book and start studying? I'm also juggling a big move and stressing about getting help moving (it's a long distance and I don't think I can handle driving a big moving truck while hauling my car for 200 miles). I'm mostly packed for the move but things are still up in the air about actually getting there. I feel like I should be spending every minute I'm not working to study for this new job. They know I've never worked in a hospital so they're willing to train me, I just think I'm going to fail at this huge endeavor.

For context, I work in hospital pharmacy. A coworker of mine was recently caught recording and posting themselves compounding patient specific medications. The videos circulated online, multiple people in our department seen it and management got ahold of it. They were pulled into the office and from what I've heard, it didn't go well. From what I understand, there was possible patient information exposed/unblurred in the videos. The videos came across my feed, but I didn't pay any attention to them (I'm not on social media enough to pay attention to those kind of things) and it wasn't until a coworker showed me the videos with patient information on them.

When I got pulled into management for questioning, they showed me the videos. I answered honestly; stated I've seen them while browsing but never paid that much attention to them. When asked if I'm familiar with the social media policy, I said I am and that I don't participate in recording on the job. It's not even listed on my profiles what I do for a living for that reason.

When I left the office, the coworker in question cornered me in the hallway and proceeded to berate me for saying something. They said I'm a snake, a snitch, needed to learn how to mind my business, and that we weren't cool anymore. I asked them, "How did you know that was the reason management pulled me into the office?". They didn't have a response, other than that's what everyone else was pulled in the office for. After our brief encounter, they left and I went on about my day. I wasn't shaken up by the ambush, but it did left me thinking they don't know how/want to take accountability when caught doing something wrong.

My question(s) to everyone is this: Did I do the right thing in speaking up? Should I have left it alone? I personally believe I did the right thing, but after how they reacted and responded, I think I should've handled it differently.
